NEWTON vs. WESTBROOK { if this game was ever to be played}
TradinUp BH replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
WB spanks Newton by 4 TD's I promise you. Way too much depth, Newton would fight but be worn down by halftime. WB and Dayton or WB and WOS would be a good one. -
How Many Teams Do You Feel Should Make Playoffs?
TradinUp BH replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Let's go to bowl games, you know the high school BCS. The top 20 teams in the state for each classification. Just kidding, I thought it would be funny ;D -
It's actually at North Shore Little League. I-10 to Beltway 8 North. Take Beltway 8 North to Wallisville Road. Turn west on Wallisville until you get to Castleglory. Head North on Castleglory and you run into it.

13 yr old Babe Ruth Tournament Thread

I thought they would have to play more games then that to win state. Is there just not that many communities with Babe Ruth teams? Good Luck Mid-County. -
Will PNG ever be good again?
TradinUp BH replied to fbplayer999's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The last time I checked we were still filling the stands, but if the team isn't scoring you don't have alot to cheer about. So, I'm suppose to wear a football helmet, a coaches whistle, pom poms, baton, playing a trombone, holding a water bottle, and medical tape in my back pocket. Will that make you happy? : -

LITTLE LEAGUE SECTIONALS-North Shore

After looking at the scores from the District Tomball came out of, it appears that Tomball is going to be tough. Good luck West End and Groves. -

I heard he will possibly take the job next year. It's just rumor right now as far as I know. -
Favorite Stadiums in the State
TradinUp BH replied to jmspears3's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Frisco ISD, they play in a very nice stadium that is sponsored by like Pizza Inn. It's where the Dallas pro soccer team plays, but all Frisco ISd teams play there. -

Area talent suits up and plays in Futures Game
TradinUp BH replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I watched the game on ESPN, and Jay Bruce is the real deal. He hit one off the centerfield fence, and got a triple. He threw a ball to homeplate and showed his arm off. This kid is unbelievable. He will be in the majors soon, mark my word. -
I think that this years team is just as good as last years team. This year they're very scrappy and they play sound baseball. The pitcher's on the team could be anyone's #1 pitcher on other team's. They aren't going to blow it by alot of people, but they hit thier spots. The defense is tremendous and you're not going to find them amking very many errors. They have just as many homerun hitters as last year, but overall maybe a little less power throughout the lineup. I think this year they have more depth than last year. I'm just happy to see Groves doing this well two years in a row. I think both teams are equally special. Go GNLL, and hopefully to Williamsport..

*Big And Small School Pre Tourney 7 on 7 Rankings*

I don't see how four Katy High Schools qualify for the tournament. You would think that only the best or maybe top two would go, but not four of them. -
BestRB to ever come out of your school ?

I was fortunate to play against him in the 91 Beaumont Bowl. Tremenous athlete could cut on a dime. He fizzled out in the pro's, but man in HS he was good. We won that game on a defensive stand inside the 5 yard line. I remember playing in that game with him and our QB James Brown. Great memories. -
No, I'm not one of the coaches on the team first, but that was funny. I haven't seen any of the D12 teams play, but I do know West End is usually competative. I think D32 wins out of those two. The one I worry about is the team out of D? with The Woodlands, Tomball, NW 45's. They are always tough and alot of kids to pick from. Groves had 5 major league teams to pick from, where as your Houston area kids usually double that. Anyways, good luck to ya'll next year seriously.

I figured you to be a youngster. Hey, I'm not dogging BC, excellent baseball from there, but don't get on here and start anything about YOUTH baseball. Your team was probably good whenever. Do you feel better now. I came up through Amelia Little League in the 80's, and we were good. Big Deal. Groves was the better team this year. By the way, I have one word for you "JASPER" ouch!!!!LOL ;D Good Luck next year!!! Now you can say I'm trash talking
-
Fireworks were done just like last year because it was left overs from the 4th. It's also nice to have something for the youth after winning district. I'm sorry that you didn't approve of them, but it wasn't taking a shot at BC. Speaking of disrespect, you put LOL on your post every time you mention Groves. I think the best team won by what I saw. BC didn't impress me one bit. Good luck to Groves in Sectionals. We'll spot you 10 runs next year
-
I was there, Groves NLL played awesome. Errors didn't beat BC tonight, hitting and pitching for Groves did. Groves has a solid defense and good bats. Hernandez hit a homerun that still hasn't landed. No more excuses from the nay sayers. BC made a couple of errors, but it didn't matter because Groves 10 run ruled them. BC had some big ole boys.

It's true that alot of kids at GNLL did play American that long ago, but it's something bringing them to GNLL. For whatever reason your trying to bash our league. All the kids are from Groves no matter what league they play in. I think it's great for us to have a competitive youth baseball program. I'm just a good old fashion lilltle league fan, and that's why my kids play little league. I could have put them at the disfunctional American league, but I would rather them have fun, learn baseball, in a atmosphere that is more condusive for kids. My personal opinion is that American get's out of hand. The group of kids this year aren't at the level of the kids last year, but they are still a good team.

Return of football at Lamar would be benefit to many
TradinUp BH replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The biggest benefit to this area by Lamar bringing back football would be for the talent in the area that either gets over looked or for the player that might be just one step below the D-1 level. I hope they do bring it back and heavily recruit from deep east texas to this area. Believe me there are some hidden gem's in this area that would make LU a competitive team. -
I'm involved at Groves National and we seen a large influx of Groves American kids this year. Alot has to do with how the league is ran and managed. Hopefully we can keep the majority of the Groves kids at GNLL, and build a solid program every year. The championship game or games between BC and Groves ought to be a good one if the rain will STOP! ALSO, GNLL is all Groves kids while the OTHER league is mixed with PA kids now.
-
Bridge City has always had good youth baseball, but don't get so cocky that you might eat your words. GNLL is a good ball team. We'll find out this week. Good luck to both teams, but I'm rooting for Groves.
-
A win is a win. That's baseball. Hopefully Groves comes out on Saturday and wins again, I don't care how it's done as long as it's a W. It put's us in the drivers seat even if it's because of errors. Good excuse, but doesn't the best team make less errors and execute's while taking advantage of other's mistakes or am I missing something here. Anyways good luck to ya'll. GOOD LUCK GNLL!!!

Groves National strong again this year!!

Uh, we did. We voted on bond issue that will be part of facility expansion and upgrades. Where is all of our money going then? Sounds like a school board member (oh your money is helping a needy child in the Big Bend/El Paso/or Valley area) Have you seen the facilities that the so called needy districts are building and Yes they're getting someone's money.
