I played Big League 90-92. We had some teams, but got beat in Regionals in Houston. I remember having to play a team for the championship that consisted of The Woodlands, Tomball, and Magnolia. They were solid, but we still almost beat them. Those were fun years.

Too many schools across Texas in 4A and 5A for our area to compete every year. Put that with the abundance of strong teams in those classifications and that's why most years if you 3 to 4 rounds that's considered a very good year. The smaller classes around here 1-3a have an easier road IMO. I know some will disagree, but that's how I see it.

Great game by both teams tonight (BC and Port Neches). BC had bases loaded in the 6th and we were able to get a pop up and 2 k's. BC hit a bomb and the ball hasn't came down yet. It's an uphill battle, but hopefully we can give you Dog's a good game. Good luck Wednesday to both teams.

MoFo, the KING of WISDOM ;D I need a green book, can you hook a family member up? ;D Seriously, I know you can go online and buy one, but our league didn't even provide them this year to us coaches. I'm not the all-star coach, but I would curious on some of the rules. Also, is there seperate rules for all-stars from regular league play in the book besides the normal local regular season rules?

The thing that gets me is the umps for district all-stars need to be on the same page as the regular season umps. The reason being is because these kids are learning rules now in all-stars by getting ejected before even knowing all of the rules. Our team is having to have leasons at practice now about asking permission from umps to go to the restroom. The rules that are being enforced now are not enforced during regular season. I think this is the reason everyone is up in arms right now. If LL wants to be strict then they need to be like this all year, not just during LL all-stars. If coaches and players are going to be ejected for every rule violation, then they need to have a rules school or something for everyone involved. If you were to get a ticket from the police for having a dirty license plate, you would be pissed. Guess what, it's a law. Like I said before please blue use some discretion.

That same ump rung up a Port Neches coach tonight as soon as he walked on the field. I think he's going after the famous little league ump of the year award. He took off running from umping third base to the first base line to kick a coach out for having skoal in his mouth. This guy is eagle eye. The game was just starting! I gave my son a cup to pee in while was in the dugout, just in case. ;D oh yea, a parent From the other team was takings pictures of thier son batting and got too close to our dugout. Guess who starts hollering across the field for the parent leave that location? Yep, ump of the year. Some discretion please!!!!!

The bad thing is the kid and coach will have to miss the next game.

Any update on Nederland/BC game? Last I heard was 8-0 Nederland with some drama.

Rabb is over like ministries at Kelly according to the website. I don't know, but a coach or a teacher can't bring over thier retirement to kelly, so therefore maybe Coach Long was looking at boosting his TRS retirement by going back to public schools. Like I said I don't know if that's the reason, but it sounds logical. BTW, I'm glad he did bring his son to PNG. It's the reason they got to the final at Stephenville in 1999.

Groves won 18 to 8. Groves plays at Port Neches this Thursday.

Port Neches beat Vidor 14-0 in 4 inn and will play the winner of Groves/Port Arthur game.

Personally I think LU would've lost out financially if they would've went to WAC on travelling etc. I think Sunbelt would be a better option. As it stands now, I think SLC is where LU will have to stay for a while IMO.
