1. H-J is good, I don't see them getting put out for a while. Man, they can drain some 3's and with the big guys inside, they are going to give teams fits. They dominated PNG from the start and that was with rotating thier starters. I think the score could've been worse.
 2. Understandable on the bats at the first of the year, but to only put 1 run across against Akron isn't a good way to start the season. I think they'll be fine.
 3.
Agree with you Scalp em except for at South Alabama. Not sure we win that one.
I can call my old teammate from HS that coaches the WR's and tell him to have his guys miss all passes thrown to them that week ;D
 4.
USA today has been running a piece on the greastest numbers worn by athletes. As a kid, Mickey was my number. Today is No.14, and Pete Rose is leading Oscar Robertson 42% to 20%. Previous winners are below: You can vote here: [Hidden Content] 1. Ozzie Smith 2. Nellie Fox 3. Babe Ruth 4. Lou Gehrig 5. Joe DiMaggio 6. Bill Russell 7. Mickey Mantle 8. Cal Ripkin 9. Ted Williams 10. Phil Rizzulo or Andre Dawson 11. 12. Terry Bradshaw 13. Wilt Chamberlain. 14. Ernie Banks
5. Any predictions on next year win-loss record? I say 7-4, 4-3 in SLC Langston University WIN at South Alabama WIN Incarnate Word WIN at Southeastern La* WIN Northwestern St.* WIN at Texas St. LOSS C. Arkansas* WIN at Sam Houston St.* LOSS Stephen F. Austin* LOSS at Nicholls St.* WIN McNeese St.* LOSS Although, I think we could beat McNeese at home, and possibly pull one out against either Texas State or SHU.
 6. Ditto to what ICE said! This ought to make the league stronger. BTW, this aint pop warner, we all bring the helmets in this league :D Figured I would start early this year :D
 7. I know it's out of the area, but have ya'll seen Waller HS stadium. It's very nice. Every time I pass by it going to Austin, I wonder how in the heck did they afford that in a country town.
 8. PNG is in the playoffs for the first time since 1989, and will probably bow out first round, BUT if you look at how many games they were competative, the first round may be a surprise. Losses WOS by 2, HCYA by 2, WOS by 4, Jasper by 4, Ned by 6, Ozen by 2, Central by 2, Ned by 2. Losses that were more then 10 points were to Silsbee, WB, NO Walker, Ozen, Sterling, Vidor, Ozen, LCM. PNG was close to being 22-8 this year instead of going in with a losing record. It will depend on what PNG team shows up. Hoping for a first round upset of Crosby!!!!! Anybody know anything about them? It looks like they have beat alot of good 5A teams this year.
 9.
Great idea!Neutral field. Also avoid parking issues at NED.and PNG.
Actually PNG parking is alot better starting this year. They tore down a wing and made more parking spaces, as well as an area across from the bus barn. It's not great, but a whole lot better then it was last year.
 10. Only a scrimmage, but ouch. Expecting big things from the Tribe this year.
 11. Or maybe they are just telling Roc that so he misses the bus. :)
 12. Bearfan, I hear you, but I think what everybody is waiting to see on LCM is how they do without all everything Gonzales. He was pretty much the Bears offense last year. It will be hard for ya'll to replace him. Who knows though, I've been wrong before.

Gib Arnold-USC, John Groce-Ohio St., Tony Jones-Tennessee, Derek Kellogg-Memphis, Mark Montgomery-Michigan St.   This list may be too big for us, but since we're thinking big, I figured I would put the names out there.
Yeah let's take your advice..........Gib Arnold is the head coach at Hawaii, John Groce is the head coach and University of Ohio,  Derek Kellog is the head coach at UMASS.  You might want to make some reccomendations that you actually know something about!!!!  We need someone with Texas ties.
I just typed in up and coming coaches and these are the names that popped up. I don't claim to be a basketball expert. Are you a college basketball recruiter and what is your resume to make you the chosen one to listen to?
no need to get your panties in a knot..you put up bogus info, he busted ya...take it like a man
Not bogus, maybe outdated from the search. Who do we go after, oh wise one? BTW I don't wear underwear :D I do have a pair of panties from your house though  ;) See I went old school on ya!
 14. No Pass-No Play is toned down now letting kids come back after three weeks if passing. It use to be the full six weeks.

 17. BC is always good, but I don't really go off of scrimages. Both are stout this year.
 18. PNG, Central, Nederland, Livingston.  PNG will be strong again next year. Alot of good weapons returning from a 3 round deep playoff team=experience! Don't see Ozen in the playoffs, LCM will fall off like Lumberton, and Vidor. WHo knows because there's always the teams that sneak up on people.
 19. The last couple of years on the news, they reported men playing two below at Tyrell Park in Beaumont. They must be slow because all of them were tackled from behind. Some suffered injuries. ;D Does that count? Seriously, I don't know of any.
 20.

Been disappointing...............really thought that LCM would make the playoffs.  They have some good talent and a really good coach, but something is not working for them.  I WAS WRONG AND I ADMIT IT!!!!! ;D ;D ;D
If it makes you feel better, I thought they would be the 4th place team too... ;)
When I watched them against PNG, it looked as though once you shut down Hunter G. then you have a chance. I think most teams double him and make someone else step up. Just my observation and I think he's been hurt some this season which really hurts the Bears.
 21.
PNG - Austin Stone signed with Baylor. No other signings that i know of.
Jalali hasn't signed yet, but I woulodn't be suprised if he doesn't end up with Stone at Baylor. There is also a couple of others that I think will atleast sign with a JC.

I'll just make it annual bashing if they will get mad and continue this kind of recruiting.
Scalp'em, that isn't a term known for West Brook?? If Lamar continues this kind of recruiting and you feel it helps the team with an annual bashing go for it.  8) I'm sure James Brown being a legend at UT for the play versus Nebraska in the Big XII championship game and former West Brook star and Will Richard, who has a little more experience coaching at the college level is also a West Brook alumnus which helps to connect with local players. I'll give you all the credit.  :D
I was converted when we moved to mid county in the late 90's. I'm still a Bruin at heart 8)
