I will clarify, cannot cancel varsity district games. Can postpone them to another time or date.
You can in volleyball  ::) ::)
Volleyball isn't a sport! Just kidding, thought I would make a joke.
 2. bigred360, I might just have to say negative comments again next year if it turns out this good for recruiting ;D I'll take all of the credit :D I have two former teammates and friends that coach at LU and do recruiting as well. I'll just make it annual bashing if they will get mad and continue this kind of recruiting.
 3. I hate to say it, but I think Texas is the best team in the nation right now. I've watched a handful of thier games this year and they are for real. Very good basketball team. Heck they have about four or five kids that will probably be in the NBA in the next four years.
 4. They only lost to BYU by 6 points and Georgetown by 17. I seen where they are 20th this week in USA poll. They are 20-2, but reading thier board seems like they are cocky. I could see not liking them very much ;D
 5. Nice, it seems like the kid has some smarts to have the likes of Rice and Stanford on his radar. This would be a big pick up as well.

[Hidden Content]
Is A&M making a late push?  I know they have been mentioned before but I wonder is they were luke warm on him for awhile but then have turned up the heat when they maybe didn't get someone else they preferred.
got three years of sitting behind christine michaels and cyrus at aTm
True, I wonder what even happens to Michaels now that Cyrus showed he's a beast at RB. He may not get as many touches at A&M next year. Somebody call him up and tell him LU will give a chance. :D
 7. This would be huge for LU, and compliment what they are already getting in transfers and returners. If he picks LU, I will get season tickets ;)
 8. Razor, I said I seen it from both sides. Congrats Ned on the W. Let's move on is correct.
 9. How many athletes ever tested positive anyways? How many per year?

I said both sides behaved poorly after the game. Nederland fans didn't clear off of the court for about 30 minutes after the game. What I meant by this is the PNG administration were the only ones trying to get thier fans out of the gym. Nederland administrators should've made thier fans leave once the mouthing started. Remember the game was at PNG. Grant it, there were alot of fans on both sides which made it hard to get any thing accomplished. Two players punched? Are you sure on that because I was next to the officer working the game and nobody said anything about that.
I am positive!  I spoke to both of the kids myself. Just b/c it wasn't reported to the officer doesn't mean it didn't happen.
Come on now, let a 17 or 18 year kid punch another in the back. There would've been an all out riot in there. I think you may be stretching things a little. There may have been some shoving, but I don't think any punches were thrown. I'll ask coach Abel to look at his video since his son was still filming after the game. Heck, it might of been a Nederland fan punching him because they let PNG hang with them into the final second of the game ;D

 12. I was at the game and walking my young kids out of the gym after the game. Both sides were mouthing off at each other. I think the NDN fans took offense because of the heated game and then afterwards students from the visiting school staying on the court mouthing. I guess I'm going to be a homer and say that if you win a game at somebody else's house, take the win and move on. There was no need to linger around and play the mouthing game with the team that lost. It went both ways, and it was parents involved also. The PNG administrators had to grab several Ned students and pull them away from the PNG side, they may have had to do the same with the PNG students, but I didn't see it. Some of the conduct I seen from both sides was a depressing end of a great game. Good luck to the Dogs and NDNS for the rest of the season.
 13. Proud of my NDNS battled to the end. Great game by both! NDNS had chances! Hopefully we can sneak into the playoffs.
 14. Rebel Yeller, this entire area has always been a strong baseball area. People can talk about football, basketball, but this has been a baseball hot bed for a while and continues to be. I don't think anyone is trying take anything away from Evadale, but I think they wouldn't hang with about 15 other schools in this area. IMO, I don't think they would beat the majority of schools in 19-4A or 20-4A, and that's not including several of the 3A schools around here or 5A schools. It's hard to compare when they don't pplay each other, but I guess maybe ya'll can try to get into some tournaments in the future. Good luck to Evadale this year.
 15. They had a handful of scouts at the Nederland Tournament earlier this year, but I don't really know if they were there for Nederland as much as they were there for Ball, and a couple of the other teams there.
 16. Curious to see if DC Kroeker from PNG will put in, he did at Jasper. He came to us from Aledo HS, which is a top notch 4A school in the metroplex area. May take a look at him, even though I don't want him to leave the Reservation.
 17. Report: Idaho Vandals pursuing Mountain West Conference invite Submitted by Brian Murphy on Thu, 01/20/2011 - 8:15pm. By Brian Murphy [email protected] You can add Idaho to the list of Western Athletic Conference teams that have contacted the Mountain West Conference about future membership. The (Spokane, Wash.) Spokesman Review reports that Idaho athletic director Rob Spear has talked to MWC commissioner Craig Thompson. "We are exploring all avenues and this includes the Mountain West," Spear told the paper. Boise State (2011), Fresno State (2012), Hawaii (2012, football only) and Nevada (2012) are moving from the WAC to the Mountain West, which is losing Utah, BYU and TCU in the next two years. Earlier this week, the San Jose Mercury News reported that San Jose State was interested in jumping to the Mountain West. Thompson told our Chadd Cripe that he has had one conversation with the Spartans — when they asked to be considered for potential expansion. Mountain West officials will meet next week and expansion is expected to be among the topics discussed. But Thompson said he has not been given the go-ahead by his presidents to pursue additional members. As it stands, the Mountain West will be a 10-team football league beginning in 2012. If the league were to expand, Idaho would seem to be well down the list of contenders for expansion. But Spear has no choice but to pursue an invitation. Current WAC member Utah State has also been linked to the Mountain West, as schools look to jump to what is perceived as the more stable conference. WAC commissioner Karl Benson acknowledged as much last week in an interview about expansion with the San Antonio News Express. “Unfortunately, we're kind of held at bay until the Mountain West makes their decision,” Benson told the newspaper. “Obviously there are WAC schools that might be on the list. It's something we have to recognize as a possibility. We are certainly hoping there isn't any further deletion.” The WAC has added Texas State, Texas-San Antonio and non-football playing Denver beginning in 2012. Benson told the newspaper that Seattle, Cal-State Bakersfield and Utah Valley will be considered as non-football playing members. The paper reported that the list of potential football schools includes: Louisiana-Lafayette, Lamar, Sam Houston State, California-Davis, Portland State and Cal Poly and possibly new attempts at luring Montana and North Texas. • There was some good news for the WAC. The NCAA passed a new rule that will allow the WAC to keep its automatic berths in NCAA tournaments, berths that were put in jeopardy by the defections under old rules Read more: [Hidden Content]
 18. I was told they will start off 3A for the first couple of years. Watch out gor this school in about 5 or 6 years. They take in the last section of the woodlands being built and I'm sure will have an abundance of athletes.
 19.
How are they playing now? Just curious how they can play as a unit?     Following some of 2012's coming up, they definitley have some hitting, defense though would concern me.(defense killed them last year) The new sophomore pitcher from Tomball, still needs experience, although has some velo and secondary.     Still would at this time be carefull with Tomball, Lynch has a squad also. Whatever, it will be fun for all involved, and wish each team the best, I think Woodlands is still missing a middle infield, but has some big bats and some great pitching. Same ol same ol, there.    I like Westside, Lamar, Brenham, for greater Houston area, then secondary would be Westbury Christian, Woodlands, Tomball, Klein Collins, and maybe a Magnolia. Sorry, don't see a Golden Triangle team in it, but will listen or stand to be corrected. Lot of my opinions are based on top prospects, coaching, perpetual winners.  Maybe a Cy Fair team but no prospects there stand out presently. Corpus once again will be sending Calallen and Carrol and or Moody back to State.     Who is the real deal in the Triangle this year? Anybody to come see?
On paper Nederland in 4A is going to be tough. They might have the best shot at a long run from the triangle, but you can't count PNG out either. Both have some D1 signees, and more to come.
 20. Nederland is going to be very strong this year, they have incredible depth on that team.
 21. I'm probably wrong because I'm still looking at who has what from all teams, but here goes mine: 1. Nederland 2. PNG 3. Jasper 4. BC 5. WB

[Hidden Content]
Everybody loves Billy but Pat Foster was the best coach we ever had.
I agree and I met him a few years ago at a church in Sugar Land. He lives there now and was a super great guy to talk to.
I agree, but there are guys from small colleges in the pro's. Who knows?
Also true. I bet he'll end up playing in one of the sub-pro leagues, like the UFL, Arena League, etc
Your probably right. Several guys I played with at WB that were WR went on to play at larger colleges and they ended up playing arena football and one played in Canada.
