1. What are ya'll considering East and West? Just curious.
 2. I don't see how Lamar can afford to go to the WAC. Traveling to Colorado, New Mexico, and California for all sports. I just don't see it happening, but who knows.
 3.
17-4A 1. Brenham Cubs 2. Stratford Spartans 3. Magnolia Bulldogs 4. Montgomery Bears ...tough district
Might be one of the toughest in all of the state. One of the teams from your district will probably be in Austin at the end of the year.
 4.
why not just change the ball? everybody has to go buy new bats because some are too "hot"? it's ridiculous, all they have to change is the ball (which get replaced every game anyway), oh wait, that wouldn't make the bat companies filthy rich all over again. here's one for you, just let the umpires bring 5 bats to every game 29" to 33", both teams use the same bat and nobody has an "advantage", and if a kid is too fast let's tie his shoelaces together. just change the ball and be done with it. with today's science balls could be designed for less exit speed and still maintain "long flight", infielder safety is the issue, not home runs, correct? all i can say is that bat prices need to drop appreciably if they pushing us down this road. just my opinion, i think this a "money" move, not a logistical one, too easy to change the ball.
Then somebody would be accused of playing with dirty balls! :D :D
 5.
the talent pool just isnt there anymore like it used to be.. Those schools used to have tons of basketball players to choose from
People are moving out of the Beaumont area. Wait till you see the new population figures for the Golden Triangle area. All cities in this area are losing people to the ;arger suburbs. Less kids equals less chance of a large talent pool. Just my observation. To the East Texas BB guy, you can't really name an East Texas city that is some beautification model of cities, so I think I would've kept that comment to yourself. ;)
 6.
Anyone heard of any move in or move outs in your area for the 2011 season?
Tomball Memorial will be opening at the 3A level next school year, and Katy ISD just approved construction on HS #7. It will be by Seven Lakes and Cinco Ranch HS. CY-Fair also has Cy-Ranch that should be playing varsity. Alot of schools about to come on line in the Houston area. There's also a new one in Fort Bend in the Sienna Plantation neighborhood and Lamar Consolidated has a new HS. You ask why our area doesn't always do great in the playoffs, well look at all of the schools now.
 7.
Everything everyone is saying makes sence, but the whole Denton Guyer and Cibolo Steele bit. Both teams couldnt get a State title due to LT and others. First year in 5A both teams play for state. Thats got to tell you something.
Those areas are seeing big population growth. You didn't about LT until recently. That area is booming and to move there, you better bring a very large checkbook. I rode around there a couple of months ago, and all I can say is wow!
 8.
Just look at the D/FW area. Back in the day it was only a handful of elite teams, now everyone has moved to the metroplex and teams have gotten better. 3a on up.
I've been watching this trend for a while. I know there's some exceptions to the rule, but year in year out teams are the ones where everyone is moving to.
 9.
I believe the top teams in 3A / 4A  can beat the average 5A teams but the issue is depth and # of players the 5A schools have. The top 1-5 players on each team is about the same but when you get to 6-10 and so on the 5A schools do not have as much drop off in talent. Most 3A / 4A teams a majority of the kids play both ways and in 5A there is enough talent to play specific positions. As the game goes on it takes a toll on the players lining up on a fresh player every other down.
Agree, I think we both were trying to get to the same point, but you put it easier to understand. It's incredible the amount of new schools opening every year in texas. This is a huge difference of let's say the 80's and even early 90's where there was not near the amount of schools involved.
 10.
for me, when a runner is down NOT by contact being allowed to get up and run until he is down by contact.
agree
 11. I think it depends on the area. For example, in the suburbs of areas growing they are getting kids from all over moving into the community and alot of talent to pick from. You take an area like "Golden Triangle" where the population is actually decreasing and you only have the kids that parents have stayed here forever and a limited talent pool. So, I think you take the areas growing with 5A numbers and they beat probably most if not all 4A, unless it's a 4A school in one of the areas that growing and the school would be 5A in the new realignment. Hopefully that made sense ;D
 12. All college camps for the younger ages are fun camps. I don't think they learn alot at them, but the experience of being on a college field is neat. Your kid will get more out of private lessons IMO.
 13.

To answer the initial question:  None.... Where's PN-G's 1800+ yard rusher from last year?  Just asking....
They seem to always have a beast at running back and I never hear anymore about them after high school, why is that ? Not trying to ruffle any feathers (pun) just curious.
If you look at the majority of schools in the golden triangle, where is any of them playing? It's not like there's an over of abundance D1 players flowing out of the triangle. There are a few, but I think hardly anybody can get on here and hammer PNG football players. They've shown that they're one of the better HS teams in this area. How many SFA players went to play D1 this year? None! We have a couple at LU just like most schools will have now that LU has football. WB turns out some D1, as well as WOS, and Kirbyville. Heck Memorial isn't even flooding the D1 schools with athletes. Dumb subject. Point is PNG has some decent HIGH SCHOOL players. We don't claim to have big D1 players, just a good HIGH SCHOOL football team.
 14.
Where will Jalali be next year?
I spoke with him a while back and he's looking at several schools, but don't be surprised if he picks Baylor.
 15.
They say he is undersized. May end up at a SFA or Sam Houston.
Well Sam Houston had a recruiter there. He was sitting next to me along with Arkansas, and about 4 or 5 other schools. He's muscular, but isn't the tallest player. A guy was telling me that he's not even the top recruited kid on the team, but I thought he looked better then the other Ball players.
 16.
both my sons swing Marucci 's and they both love them
I bought one this week for my son that just turned 10.
 17.
#4 - Mike Evans from Galveston Ball was this years All Tourney Player (MVP)
This guy was very impressive. Does anyone know if he is ranked high according to recruiting sites. By far the best all around player I've seen in a while, although I don't watch alot of HS basketball.
 18. I thought the "Friday" movies were over? ;D
 19. I almost nailed the prediction. Hey, I've been keeping up with HS football for a while and I'm no expert, but CC Callalan has always gotten beat by region 3. They don't play anybody week end and week out until the semi-finals game. I could name a handful of teams that would've beat CC this year in the playoffs from Region 3. BTW, READ this CC, Da Coogs are going to state! LM is back.
 20.
He better get in a lot better shape than he is in right now. He is too out of shape to be any help to anyone.
You must of been at the Nederland Basketball tourney. Everybody in the stands was talking about how out of shape Forney was in. He was hurting in the first quarter of a fast pace game. Congrats to him on going to LU.
 21. How did #4 for Ball do? I watched him against Christian Life and he was very impressive. I don't know his name though. He, in my opinion was the best athlete on Ball's team.
 22. Haven't seen Silsbee play, but Christian Like and Ball looked like head and shoulders better then any team I seen out there. I thought Christian Life should've won against Ball, but shot 3's too much. They had some really tall kids, but didn't go to the basket as much.
 23.
Brenham Christian Academy? You mean Brenham, a town of about 13,500 (no bigger than Port Neches and smaller than Groves and Nederland), has two good football teams? That settles it. BlueBell gives you superpowers.
1/3 of Groves goes to Memorial HS and small part of Port Neches goes to Nederland HS. You probably already know that, but I bet some people don't.
 24. Does the Chappel Hill area go to Brenham schools? Ya'll have a large area that goes to Brenham ISD? Just curious.
