1. PNG Jr. White looks good, it ought to be an interesting season. Very talented returners and alot of young talent.
 2. Hey WOSgrad, I use to live in Katy, Grand Lakes, and I feel your pain. Heck, I had to pay $1,000 a year HOA dues and then around $8,000 in taxes. The neighborhood and schools were worth every penny though. Maybe one of these days we'll be back in Katy after ya'll get the tax rate down :D The last I checked the November bond was going to be about $300 million with HS #7, stadium, and some other schools. I can only imagine what the stadium will look like, and it's going on the south side of I-10. So you know it's going to be nice to keep the Cinco Ranch and Seven Lakes parents happy.

Central played there about 3 years ago in the 3rd round playoffs if memory serves me correctly. Jack Rhodes Memorial Stadium
I agree, Rhodes is a pretty nice stadium, although I would put it more in the class of a Tully Stadium, which is also nice but not like one of these Taj Mahals that have been going on around us here.  I am a bit surprised that they didn't opt for one when they built the Merrill Center.....lord knows we pay enough school taxes here in Katy to build it!
When ya'll pass that next bond you will get the next Taj Mahal in Katy ;)

Beaumont will have the nicest stadium in this area unless you factor in everything, then I don't know who. PNG IMO has the best crowd enviroment, but with a back drop of plants, and lack of parking makes it a little less. Silsbee, very nice stadium, but small.  Beaumont nice stadium, but the stands may be uneven because of the soil, I-10 traffic all game long, and the stands won't be filled unless PNG, or Nederland play there. Heck I don't know you make the call.
The Beaumont bowl games packs the stadium.  Don't know where you get your information from expecially knowing that you grew up here in Beaumont.  And there will be no uneven stands or what not.  Butch Stadium will be the Jewel of SETX.  I like PN-G's stadium, but parking on the side of the road can be a pain.  Silsbee Stadium is a very good 3a stadium.   I was kidding about uneven stands due to the field having issues. It's pretty close to I-10, but will be probably the nicest. Silsbee stadium is bigger than what I thought, my bad. I do remember Beaumont Bowl games as I played in them, but other then that, the Beaumont schools don't pack the stands.
6. Suprised to hear Ball, I spoke with some city officials over there recently that said Galveston's population is down around 35-40 thousand people now. Ball always has talent though.
 7. Merka is a good one at Crosby, but that all they have on offense IMO. I watched as WR dropped balls, penalties, etc... You can't put it on one guys back and say win the game. PNG defense will tear apart Crosby this year. The unknown will be our offense with alot of newcomers, but I have faith they will produce better then last years team. The only team that is legit in that district is Dayton period. Every year 19-4A gets on here and says how great they are and guess what first playoff game they go home except for Dayton, and thier dang good. Look forward to another great season.
 8.

Which leads to another point... How much more difficult is it to get a program in place when you have multiple elementary and junior highs feeding into multiple high schools.  I've often dreamed of a day when they would create 6 junior highs, 2 for each high school.  That way the junior highs could run the same systems as the high school.  It's just difficult now to get a head start on it with the kids at any particular junior high all going to one of three different high schools.  There's no way to settle on a system.
You are right, freshman year is like starting all over again.
Katy? They go to several different middle schools before high school. There's schools throughout the state that go to seperate middle schools and seperate high schools. Sounds like excuses ;) Even WB kids come from seperate middle schools and some split from middle school to HS and go to either Central or Ozen.
 9. I hope Central crushes Ball, I remember being a sophmore at WB we played at Ball and they turned over, that's right TURNED over two of our school buses after we beat them. I can't stand Ball High.
 10. Another SEC team wins the college world series.  Congrats to SC representing the SEC SEC SEC.
 11. I think I'm still kind of young, but in HS 88-92 Coach Hentschel at WB would make us do a Buckner run at the end of the day (1 1/2 miles)during two a days with all the pads on. We would then do 10-6-4's (10 100 yrd sprints, 6-60yrd, and 4-40 yrd, there and back was one)I lost alot of puke during HS football ;D Do they even do bull in the ring anymore. They use to not do it in weight class either, and at the Brook we had several 300lb linemen. I thought it was pretty tough in my day, but guys older then me had it even harder. I don't think kids now days are tougher, but for sure more exciting due to the change in offenses. With that being said, I would put our HS QB James Brown up against any of the newer QB's in the area, and our linemen would crush these kids nowdays. ANyways our days are past, and I get excited to watch these kids nowdays, and I have 3 boys I get to watch with the youngest being 3. I have alot of football to go ;D
 12. Great article, sounds like a great kid. Must take after his mom ;D J/K Sgt
 13. Good Luck, Nederland is super tough. Both teams have the pitching so it could be interesting.
 14. I say take them away at the high school level, but thats me. If you've never been hit by a ball after it comes off a metal bat in high school then you don't understand.
 15. Yes sir!!!!!!!!Hey 82 if you could format that to a dvd I'll pay ya for it.
 16. It's called a rice field, I thought all football fields were uneven. Atleast BISD is recognized  ;D  Hopefully the people that built it was bonded or were they? Ya'll can play your games on the reservation only on Saturdays though ;D
 17.
I heard from a very reliable source that Lamar has two years to be in compliance with title IX by adding softball to the university or the Southland Conference would not allow them to stay. Does this have anything to do with him stepping down? To my knowledge anytime you ask about the softball program starting at Lamar everyone plays dumb or puts the question off! Lamar is bound by federal law to be in compliance with Title IX, apparently the Southland Conference takes that more seriously than do the powers at Lamar!
Their going to start a womens ping pong team so their in compliance ;D j/k  With all of the talented HS softball players in the golden triangle, I'm suprised that they haven't created one.
 18. Didn't say they were wimpy and I don't sound foolish. It's my opinion and I believe that's the case along with the money, but like I said on another thread the Big10 and SEC make the most money as was shown on ESPNU. Both over 200 million a year, the next closest was BIG 12 with 60 million. Not even close.
 19.
In three games we outscored them 16 to 7. Just wasted all our runs in one game. Congrats to TCU. They have been a top 10 team all year. I hope they win it all. And do yall really think Texas won't go to a regional in 2 years?
I was joking with ya'll about tu not going to a regional, but if they do go to the PAC-10, then it will be tough from top to bottom. It's kind of like playing in the SEC ;D  Sounds like the Horns may stay where their comfortable though in the weak Big-12 (ten teams).
 20. The great University of Texas is OVERRATED, OVERRATED, OVERRATED! Had to take a jab due to all of the Horn fans on here. Looks like my Tigers and tu will be seating home this year. Wait till ya'll go to the PAC-10 next year. May not even make a regional much less super regional ;D
 21.
Sorry if I struck a nerve,I did not mean that in a bad way.I'm not a bad sport I was just responding to the 1st post on this topic.I have nothing against anyone from pn and surely not against a 9yr old kid.hey it was just a lil friendly trash talking.....sorry I got to u......
No problem, it's all good. Hopefully we can get past BC, but I don't see anyone beating ya'll twice.
 22.
Not defending "my boy", just didn't want you to sound foolish w/ your football comment.   8)  Just wanted you to understand that the Ned 9 Yr All Stars was not the team that you competed w/ in "pee wee" youth football.   8)
I'm not saying that, for the last time I was referring to "everthing goes through nederland" comment. It was me trying to make the point to the other poster that said Port Neches has never whipped Nederland in any sport. Our 9 year old group I feel is stronger in football then baseball, but they are only 9. Things change. This is typical Nederland mess trying to start arguments over 9 year old kids. I'm done with this silly argument. Good luck in peewee football, and baseball all-stars. Have a great day.
 23. This was all brought up AFTER your boy started talking about everything comes through Nederland, get it through your head! I think the PN and Groves boys are good and I think the Nederland boys are good. We got our butt handed to us in baseball against Nederland and I've said congrats. Once again, the ONLY reason that last football season and baseball season was brought up is because faub10 said everything goes through Nederland. I'm going to take up for the Port Neches boys and your going to take up for the Nederland boys. BTW, I don't need to review video, I was there on the sidelines. Good Luck the rest of the season.
 24.
if port neches wants to use groves to help them beat ned. in l.l. then thats cool. the 2009 groves 8yr. old team beat ned. 13-10 in championship game last yr. 2 main reasons 5 key players from ned. didnt play little league last yr. that are on this yrs. team & coaching.if this group of ned. 9yr olds stays together, any team will have to go thru them to win a championship in every sport.this group has never been spanked by port neches in any sport.im just saying i hope p.n. gets back to us so we might get that spanking u keep talking about?
I was referring to your assistant coach who started this mess and I know who you are. All I'm doing is responding to a very unsportsman like comment by your Nederland buddy. If you remember in football, we did whip Nederland Black 39-12 (Spanked your Nederland White in a scrimmage like 7 TD's to 1), and did win Superbowl with 4 kids from Groves and the rest Port Neches. Nederland combined two leagues together remember South and North. I think ya'lls 9's are a good group of boys, but I think there is a couple dad's that are a little cocky by the response put on this board IMO. There's going to be battles through the years with this age group I promise you. Once again, congrats on your victory and hopefully if we meet up again we can compete better.
 25.
I had the pleasure of meeting Josh Stump at the mall today. Very polite young man. We talked football a bit. I hope Coach Stump can put together some plays that will allow him to be on the field, with Reyes, and Percy Johnson at the same time. We'd be very tough to stop, offensively. Josh, tell your dad I'm the guy that gave him the copies of the playoff games from the 82 state championship team. Look forward to seeing you guys on the field next season!!!!
Now if you can get me some tape of the 91 season :)
