Horrible, I don't like them, but it's not a beauty contest. -

Texas West looks pretty dang good. It ought to be a good game. I guess BC will have Shugart on the mound? Rooting for BC in Port Neches. Go get'em boys -
BC Regional Waco updates here

Let's go BC, the goal is almost within sight. -
Prediction is what they asked for. We are confident although I imagine everyone at this age group will be decent. Good luck to all.

PNG has three teams. Purple and Grey are the teams with mostly 7's, but thier good 7's with one of the teams having most kids from last years flag champion team. The white team, which is the one my son plays on is mostly 8's with several new kids that didn't play last year. I can only speak for the White team, but there is about 7 kids that have above average speed with one really fast kid and all of them have hit extremely well for young kids. All of the coaches are excited about this team, but we will see how they respond come game time. My prediction is they will be a very tough team to beat.

Anyone know of any select teams fall tryouts?

Thanks, wish they would've built some fields for older kids at Ford Park. Very dumb on their part. -

TradinUp BH replied to AshlyHasBeen's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Congrats BC, now I can tell people I told you so. If you thought state was tough the regional looks solid again. Good luck and hope you make it to Williamsport. We'll be rooting for you from Indian land. -
Does he have any decent wr this year? I seen him last year, and Merka is going to be a good one.

Lamar National beat BC in 5 innings. Lamar must have a great team again this year. Good luck BC, hopefully you can bounce back. Big hill to climb. -
He needs to change his mind and go play at LSU, they're better ;D J/K Congrats

When I played at WB in the early 90's, it was no question Frank Middleton and Calvin Collins. Nobody during that time dominated thier opposition like these guys and they played both ways. WB has probably produced most of talented linemen in this area for the last 25 years overall.

11/12 will definitely be West End. They are loaded. So is the BC 11/12 team. We shall see who is the most loaded ;D They play each other first game of secionals

I agree with some posts and disagree with others. My input is that select has only been around in our area for a short time. Alot of good players 15 years ago had to go to Houston to play any type of select baseball. That's when you had all of the little leagues with good ball players. People choose select teams for alot of different reasons. Some of the ones I've heard is because they want better competition for thier kids, better coaching, getting away from daddy ball per say, and the list goes on. I can understand most of them. I think it's a good thing for example when leagues get kids from little league and form a team to play select tournaments to improve the core group of kids that will represent the little leagues in all stars. The teams could change from year to year, but your starting to see more of this because people are seeing how much more advanced teams like Bridge City are because they play together year round and gel better as a team. If it's done properly at a young age it shouldn't burn them out or hurt arms. You can use the tourneys to evaluate different positions for your players in select ball against quality teams where as in the regular season of little league doesn't really tell you because it's such a see saw of talent. Some kids mature in baseball before others and it gives them a chance to step thier game up a little bit. Just about every select team you see don't go undefeated for the season so I don't think it's fueling ego's. I just think that if enough planning is put into it that it ends up being a good experience for the kids even the younger ones. Me personally, I would only play 4-5 tourneys a season until they get older even if they didn't play league ball. I know Port Neches and Groves are both beginning to get teams together from little league to play some tourney's to get thier teams to gel and get better.

PNG already drafted. 3 flag, 3 peewee, 3 junior, and 2 senior teams this year. Glad to see a good turnout

Early Thoughts on Realignment?
TradinUp BH replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Angelton? Maybe Friendswood, LM, and TC, but heck Lumberton beat LM just two years ago in the playoffs. I'll take 20-4A over that district with Dayton and BH in our district. Actually, Angelton was a regional semi-finalist last year and is picked to win this district this year by DCTF. BTW, LaMarque is picked to finish 7th out of this 8 team district by DCTF. To me it's a 3 team district with Angelton, Friendswood and Texas City. That fourth spot is up for grabs. The suprise team should be Pearland Dawson. They are returning all 52 letterman and all 22 starters from last year's first ever varsity team that went 4-4, 3-4 in district. I know the team that got beat by Central. Pearland Dawson should be going 5A at next realignment. I still think team for team if we included BH and Dayton for all around sports would be tough in 20-4A. Thier district has historically been tough with large 4A schools (TC,Angelton, and couple others) that use to be 5A. I still say we're better overall, but I'm speaking as a homer -
Is Hooks coaching at Dayton now? ;D J/K it was a joke guys don't get upset. I thought it was funny though and had to say it. Good luck Broncos
