Roc is a hometown guy and the people in power love him. He is not going anywhere. Can't coach is way out of a paper bag but is good at kissing the right butts. We can lose the rest of the games and Roc will come back next year.

Can someone explain to me why a 29 year old coordinator who has never been a head coach has been hired over succesful guys like Alvarez and Valastro? Not criticizing... yet. Just would like to know the reasoning behind this. Kudos to the Jasper admin for going after a guy like Bowman! Even though the swung and missed I like that they tried to bring in a championship winning coach.

Jasper wants someone who will run the spread. Alvarez runs the Wing-T. That is why people say Barbay would be a better fit for the job. Maybe Alvarez could hire an OC to run the spread there.

We need MORE coaches like Travis Williams. I really wish Ozen would have hired him because they could really use the discipline that he brings to the table. And you know why it was front page news? Because they know it is the best basketball program in the area! Sorry but if Hamshire-Fannett or Orangefield had the same rules it would not be on the front page and not even be in the sports section. It is safe to say Silsbee basketball is the area's equivalent of WO-S football.
