piratefan.. You dont realize that you have been chasing Nederland for the last several weeks saying nah nah-nah nah nah... Yeah! You won your super bowl! Its obvious how much Nederland means to you and you must think they are pretty good or you would not be making such a big deal out of your win.. The only comments you are getting that sound arrogant and condescending are because people are responding to your neverending hum of noise about vidor beating nederland, blah blah blah... ITs been almost a month,, we dont care that you won... Its over, we have lost to worse teams.. get over it and go supoprt your team and get over your infatuation with Nederland or move over here with us and become a fan like you really want to.... You must or you would not hang around discussions regarding Nederland so much..

nah that is and has always been part of the game and its something that both teams have the opportunity to do. Playing music or noise over the PA system gives the home team an unfair advantage. Vidors band could have done the same thing to Central, your band just chose not to...

Actually I give credit where credit is due and the LCM announcer was GOOD last night. He was supportive of his team but not obnoxious in any way. However, I did not like the piped in noise over the PA system. I really do not know, but I am almost certain that it is against the rules because it is an advantage that only 1 team can use. They dont even pipe in noise in the NFL which allows almost anything. If it were not against some rule EVERYONE would be doing it. It was not really that bad, but it was somewhat noticeable. I dont think it impacted the game either way. LCM's scoreboard is COOL and they way they are utilizing it is cool too. I really like their pregame music while the teams are warming up and I like the inspiration music and video as the Bears were running out on the field. That was awesome. Also, hoisting the giant flag underneath the lift bucket on the firetruck when the National Anthem was played almost brought tears to my eyes. Very cool LCM. 8)

LCMVB, You are losing credibility letting your frustration show like you are... LCM is a good team, a VERY good team and getting better. YES you were as good as Nederland last night but not better. If you were better it would have not been so close. Neither team had an "OFF NIGHT" last night. I think both teams played about as good as they are capable and the chips fell in our favor for a change in a close game. It could have gone either way. I will agree with you that Nederland is "Not that good" overall. Nederland teams of the past would have hammered LCM last night. LCM was only able to muster 12 points against a struggling Nederland defense, but in contrast your defense was able to shutdown a fantastic Nederland running game which is a credit to them. This may be the best 2 back running game we have EVER had and you did a better job than anyone else has done against it all year.. We just dont have the passing game to go with it to spread a defense and you shut it down. Our district is relatively weak this year. Dayton is the same Dayton they were last year and the year before and so is Central. But with Nederland and PNG being down this year it gives an illusion of parity among strong teams... Really LCM and Lumberton and Vidor are not better than usual,, Nederland, Ozen and PNG are just worse teams than usual so far. I know you cant understand that but I have been studying these teams for years and its true. 22-4A wont get out of region 3 this year mark my words. They always have to go through the LaMarque and Brenham level of teams who are just better. Unless they are down too we none of us are going far becuase we just are not playing on a State Champion level. None of us are including Dayton who can only run. Teams who are totally 1 dimensional NEVER go far in the playoffs and Dayton is 1 dimensionsal. I cant tell you how many times Nederland has come up against these ALL WORLD running backs and ranked teams and beat the crap out of them because all they can do is run. If Dayton can pass they MIGHT make a run, but if they cannot and WE (LCM and Nederland)cannot,,, IF we get in we will not get far. LCM cant run and Nederland cant throw.. That means you are just another good footbal team that cannot put it all together in 1 season.

Something else. I cannot remember in the Neumann era being in a situation where were are shutout, let alone behind significantly going into the 4th quarter and then actually pulling off a come from behind to win ESPECIALLY when it a "do or your seasons over" situation. If we get behind and have to deal with the clock, normally we lose. Jake 94 and I were sitting together talking about this fact late in the game, and frankly I don't think either of us were expecting it to happen... It felt good to be in that situation and see the kids succeed and I know how hard it was for LCM to deal with because we have been there before and in even bigger situations ie Bay City in 1998 and 2000. Last night was one of the sweetest moments in Bulldog football history as far as I am concerned. Hats off to LCM for TREMENDOUS improvement and a great new staff. This is not the last time LCM and Nederland will be battling for a spot in the playoffs. You guys have a LOT to look forward to and I hope you guys get back in the playoffs soon, just as long as the Dogs go with you. Now we have to face Dayton and get up for the Lumberton game. Dayton has the advantage no doubt, but seeing that Central contained them and seeing a dramatic improvement in our defense last night we just miiiiiiiight have a chance but we wont get our hopes up... Lumberton worries me.. With Ozen beating them and everyone thinking Ozen stinks this year, I PRAY that the Dogs do not overlook the Raiders. They are every bit as formidable as LCM, we better be ready to play some serious football for the next two weeks.

LCM, I know you guys wanted this win bad and it showed. Here is my take... LCM has the best defense we have seen in the district this year... We could not throw on you due to excellent coverage and it was tough to run when YOU knew we could not throw. Marvelous Driver is a PHENOMENAL defensive player. Now here is why we won.. I could see it happening as it developed. Micah was getting a little freaked and he could see the game slipping away late in the 3rd. I have never seen him visibly aggitated before but he was pacing and extremely riled up on the sidelines and on the field on defense. You could see that he just flat out made up his mind that he was going help his team move the ball or die trying.. He came out with an intensity that I have never seen from him. The TEAM played great, but this Bulldog teamed has not played with heart to amount to much all year... In the 4th quarter things got really real for them as they saw their chances at not only a win but the playoffs slipping away. Everyone stepped it up defensively and offensively. You see the thing that you guys at LCM cannot see is that our defense has played HORRIBLY all year. Tonite they played incredibly well for them.. They stayed in position and managed the flow of each play very well. They did not let receivers get away from them and they strung out the outside runs very well. They covered passes well.. Now as far as the refs,,,, oh yeah they stunk up the place but they did not cost you the game. You did not make any mistakes to cost you the game except 1 dropped pass. We were begging to be beating due to fumbles and foolish playcalling but your offense just did not put it away. That was becauase our defense played well not because your offense did not. You guys scare me and you have a great coach... You are a force to be reckoned with in the district and have my utmost respect as a football team. No question there is a lot of hard work and heart over in Bear Country... Very cool scoreboard and sound system by the way.

Time will tell...

I think Dayton wins this one and here is why. Central is hot/cold and they only play up to the level of their opponants,,, usually. They were up for the Nederland game wisely expecting a battle royale only to find a weak porous defense at that time and so they blew them/us out. Everyone else they EXPECTED to beat and they played just good enough to win.. You cannot play "flip the switch" against truly balanced and good solid contender, of which they have yet to meet. Dayton has been mentally prepared, they have been taught well to stay emotionally hard and the pound on teams unmercifully. Central is going to try to flip the switch and it is not going to work. Dayton wins easy walking away, Dayton by 17 points minumum. The only way Central wins is if Daytons key players are injured or weather get in the way. On a dry field its a sure thing. That being said, nobody in 22-4A gets to the Region 3 final game this year. Might get past round 1 but after that its over. None of these teams are that good this year, they are just better than the relative talent in the district.

Mosely is the key as you say and he is a viscious runner, but he is great because he has a great line not because he is a 1 man show. He has a GREAT supporting cast. The "other" runner in the Nederland backfield is a force to be reckoned with and a true fullback, now he is a 1 man wrecking crew and takes yards by sheer will and brute force and that is no joke.. Back to Micah,,many of his 16 touchdowns have been though holes so ridiculously large that anyone could have scored. This includes the game against Central and LaMarque. This is a great offense, it really is and it is not just Micah... Here is the catch, when the other team (Central, Vidor) score in 2-3 plays and it takes our offense 10 plays to score the odds are not in your favor. The offense can NOT win without defense. I do not think there is any question about Nederlands offense, anything to the contrary is simply wishful thinking. The question is, can Nederlands defense just play a decent game and stop giving up big plays every 3-4 plays?? If they can just play a decent game, the status quo definitely swings in their favor. But its high school football and typically its unpredictable... We will find out in a couple of weeks how Dayton and Nederland matchup, but first they have to play a tough game against LCM.

Just because you beat them 42-0 does not mean you are really good. It just means you were better than they were... Gotta take it 1 game at a time...

LOL, Oh yes you can... I saw them all run in every game they played for years. He is definitely better than LaBove and about as good as Sumrall, he is a little easier to bring down than Troy but both have/had an incredible 2nd gear and both are/were extremely difficult to get on the ground. Labove was really really good but he is not of the same caliber as Sumrall and Mosely. If Sumrall has an edge over Micah it was his sheer will power to resist being brought down.. He would exhaust a defense and just flat REFUSE to go down until they just had so much weight on him that he physically could not hold them up. I think Micah has the same ability, he just does not quite have the "refuse to go down" tenacity that Sumrall had. Also you could not trip him up and make him fall, he had to be TACKLED. Watching him battle would almost bring tears to your eyes he played with so much physical passion. The trademark run that broiught Nederland football back to life was Sumralls long run against Sweeney where he was caught on about the 5 yard line and literally dragged a defender that was riding his back into the end zone. He was almost down and had 1 hand on the ground, crawled slowly 5 yards and collapsed on the goal line for the TD. It was one of the most emotional moments for me in all of sports. His passion was just incredible. Hmmmm, that being said I am not sure if Micah is quite that good, yet. But I think he has the potential to be.

Nah, LCM may or may not win but if they do it will be in a shootout. Nederland really does have a fantastic running game, perhaps the best they have EVER had with Mosely and Gutierrez and this line. As far as the defense, you will run right up the middle on the defense, they are pretty good at pass defense and defending the run to the outside.

I must say that I was impressed with the passive resistance speech. Expressing vehement disagreement with, but abiding by, the law of the land is a great way to handle it. I wish Nederland would do the same thing. :!: Of course if it were my decision we would follow the real Americans over in Vidor and just outright defy a law that is direct contradiction to the Constitution.

I usually hookup with GoStangs, Gasilla and the WOS gang and go watch WOS if they are in it. I also follow PNG if they get in. However, that being said I pretty much live by the saying " have car will travel". If there is a ball game going on on Saturday and I am not working, I am there even if I have to go alone. I have been all over Texas to watch playoff games, it does not have to be Nederland for me to make a day of it. I must admit that day trips to the dome are my favorite. I have seen some great games there and at Pasadena over the years. But I am a junky, I even like watching 8-9 grade on Tuesdays and JV on Thursdays too.

Boy, if anyone knows about streaks it Nederland vs PNG. They owned us for 1 year short of 2 decades! :shock:

My common sense says Dayton should win, but I dunno. LCM is playing awful good football. Im hesitant to make a predicition. I want to pick LCM to win and suspect that they might. But I am going to say Dayton in a heck of a game. I think LCM is going to give Dayton a serious run for their money if they dont let themselves get intimidated,,, and come out expecting to win a hard fought game. The thing is, although Dayton is good I dont see where they are all that good.

Sheesh,,, LCM hands down. They have not shut anyone out much less blown out 2 teams in a row for as long as I can remember. They are a serious playoff contender in 22-4A. Im not sure whats going on over there since I have not seen them play yet but they are looking pretty impressive basis the scores.

PNG has no offense. Their defense is marginal. Had Nederland stuck with what was working I think they would have scored 42 or more points. PNG cannot stop a good running team. Lumberton has an ok team overall and they are pumped up and feeling good right now. Battle of two marginal teams. I say PNG is already out of the playoff picture and Lumberton has a chance, so thats got them hungry. Lumberton 28 -35 PNG 10 maybe 14.

Dont read anything into it about Nederland. I am just making a prediction based on my experience watching these teams for years. Does not have anything to do with Nederland. They are a much better team than Vidor. Although I do not think Central will go more than 2 rounds in the playoffs. Our district just is not all that great this year in general. Central and Dayton are going to be the strongest teams and they are no better than they usually are, everyone else just stinks it up so far. Theres not a team within 80 miles of Beaumont that is going anywhere in 4A this year unless something changes dramatically.

Seriously, I know he is an icon and has been at it forever so I seriously have nothing but respect for him. But,,, as a Bulldog fan,,, hearing his voice makes my skin crawl and I almost immediately feel like upchucking.
