Patriots' historic game to be available to all of America, after all December 26, 2007 NEW YORK (AP) -- The New England Patriots' shot at history Saturday night will be available to every television viewer in the country after months of wrangling. Their game against the New York Giants, in which the Patriots could become the first NFL team to go 16-0 in the regular season, was originally scheduled to be shown only on the NFL Network. Fewer than 40 percent of the nation's homes with TVs receive the channel. The league announced Wednesday that the NFL Network feed will be simulcast on NBC and CBS. It's a major concession by league officials, who repeatedly said they would not show the game anywhere but the NFL Network. The NFL had faced mounting pressure from lawmakers in recent weeks to make the game available to more viewers. Local TV affiliates in the Boston, Manchester, N.H., and New York areas who were already set to simulcast the game under NFL policy will still air it. The NFL has feuded with major cable companies, who have declined to carry the network as part of basic packages. "We have taken this extraordinary step because it is in the best interest of our fans," commissioner Roger Goodell said. "What we have seen for the past year is a very strong consumer demand for NFL Network. We appreciate CBS and NBC delivering the NFL Network telecast on Saturday night to the broad audience that deserves to see this potentially historic game. Our commitment to the NFL Network is stronger than ever." This will be the first three-network simulcast in NFL history and the first simulcast of any kind of an NFL game since the first Super Bowl in 1967, when CBS and NBC both televised the first meeting of the champions of the newly merged National Football League and American Football League.

That was my original reason for posting.. I really dont care about the details of what TW or the NFL's problems are or who is being greedy but SOMEONE is. All I know is that we are getting screwed out of being able to see the Cowboys play. I dont lose sleep over it either, but if the wheel does not squeak, its not going to get greased. Until they can come up with a solution a PPV option would at least give us SOME ability to watch the game. As it stands there is no option available other than switching to satellite or going to Hooters, which ain't happening for me.

Who else here is fed up with this controversy over getting games aired from the NFL network on Time Warner? I dont know what the deal is,,, but whatever it is, they need to get it worked out. I am really starting to get seriously hacked off that we are missing games like the Dallas Green Bay and Carolina games. I am not sure where the best place is to voice our concern where it will get some serious attention but calling TWC is a waste of time. 2 reasons for this post. 1. To say that as a sports fan, I am FED UP with this garbage. 2. To see if any of you know of a place where we have a voice where we will actually be heard on this issue.

I did not think that the forum rules allowed for any type of negative discussion about players. I have opinions about all this too and pretty strong ones. But I thought that comments that are negative in any way regarding specific players were out of bounds regardless of whether they are true or not. I would think you could make an arguement FOR a kids selection or FOR an oversight, but to publicly put them down and say they don't deserve it... ??? I did not think I was on the smackattack board here.

I agree with that 100%. That kid was awesome.

Very Cool. So far I like Tony Romo a LOT... He seems to be like a kid out there, just having fun but playing his heart out. I really like that about him.

I am planning to leave about 2-3PM to head to Kyle Field to watch the Broncos get it done tomorrow night. I was just wondering, who else that is not from Dayton is going? Should be a fun game. Any of you that know me that want to ride shoot me a PM, I am probably going alone, but my Expedition seats 6-8 comfortably. I will probably go 105 to Navasoto then head up 6, thats how I usually go. Just doing a little reading up on Lake Travis.. Looks like they have a really great passing game with a 6'4" QB that can really thread a needle. They hammered Calallen like 42-14. Just reading it appears that they are a very wealthy school,,,, with extremely high academic standards. They have one of, if not the largest and most expensive workout facilities in the state. Although they have not been the best football team in the state yet,,, they have heavily invested in the program and are putting a tremendous amount of stock in the importance of having a winning football program. Looks like they are paying to win from what I read. I cannot get any stats on the team, but it sounds like they are a really effective spread offense. They may be the biggest challenge the Broncos have faced to date if they are balanced. I wish I could get some info on their defense.

NB 81 plays from scrimmage 356 yards 4 INTS 18-33 for 232 yards. Perez 36-95 yards. Committe by the other backs. LC 46 plays from scrimmage 270 yards 18:15 possession time (unreal) 3-8 38 passing for Perez 31-149 yards rushing and 38 receiving for Rodgers. Correction 4 rushing and 1 receiveing TD for Rodgers. Those numbers seem a little off for LC but I am sure the chronicle will have good numbers tomorrw. I know that Rodgers numbers are right, but they did not say where the rest of the yards came from... Suffice to say he is their offense.

Minor correction. It sounded like Rodgers threw the ball on the last play but it was Smallwood to Rodgers right at the corner post. The play was busted and he stepped out of the rush and threw a perfect strike.. 4 rushing and 1 recieving TD for Rodgers. He broke the 128TD all time record (now set at 132) and carry record (about 1135) tonight for Texas High School Football. Unbelieveable.
