  1. Is it true 2A-Anahuac turned in a higher number than 3A-Kirbyville which turned in around 426 (it was in the 420s)? If so, how would that affect reallignment?
  2. In reality, that's the way it SHOULD finish every year, but it doesn't seem to work that way with the Three Big Super Wal-Mart Schools of the district except for, of course, WOS! There seems to be a little ol' Dollar General town that messes that up.
  3. Good! Some of us don't want to drop! Win or lose, it's more fun playing against the big boys (WOS, Jasper, Silsbee) with something riding on the line!
  4. Well, don't they Redshirt some freshmen over at WOS? Just kidding. You're right.
  5. Jack Alvarez - Kirbyville (11-2) Has built little ol' Kirbyville into an outstanding program. He does more with less every year. One of the smallest 3A's in Texas. He deserves some credit for what he's done.
  6. k-villeballa... what was your point that you "hope the Kirbyville boys get into 7 on 7 this summer and be ready for whatever?"
  7. So how does a person make a NEWCOMER award when he's not a NEWCOMER because in reality he was a RETURNING STARTER?
  8. That's right. My mistake. He started as TRUE FRESHMAN last year!
  9. What about the former D1 players? Hasn't WOS won a state championship or two? The topic was this year's offense. Only ONE team will be happy at the end of the year and that's the team that wins it all and yet there will still be IDIOT fans that will say things could have been done better on that championship team!
  10. WOS had a great year. They DIDN'T have the talent on offense as in years past. People want to talk about play-calling, this and that. But, how many D1 players were on their offense this year? Not at QB, not at RB, not at WR. Not at TE. Makes a difference.
  11. How about the same as this year?
  12. 7 on 7 is overrated. Heck, Vidor won 7 on 7 one time I believe.
  13. Dominique Bailey, Jasper.... How is he a Newcomer of the Year. He started on offense last year as a sophomore! He's not a newcomer! He is a GREAT player and is worthy of being a first or second team QB, but not a NEWCOMER!
  14. Rhodes does it all! He can block, run, catch, knock your *$#& in the dirt! He plays almost EVERY snap on offense, defense, and special teams! He could be a star in A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A. He's a player! Give me Rhodes, you can have Hussey (he's a great player also).
  15. Splendora vs Jasper (D1) will play winner of Navasota vs. Needville WO-S vs Coldspring will play winner of Giddings vs. Sealy Kirbyville vs Cleveland will play winner of Columbus vs. Caldwell What kind of info do you have about the teams that the winners of our area 3A games would play next week? I know everyone knows about Giddings, but how strong are they this year along with the other teams listed above. Is there a website that would preview those games?
  16. Alvarez does more with less every year.
  17. Why don't you include the second half. This is obviously the halftime score.
  18. The math is correct, because it's math. But, I'm saying the formula is flawed. I would think that there has to be another "weight" included so you don't have a one loss team behind teams it's already beaten who also have more than one loss. But, that's why you play it on the field. The playoff system sorts everything out for us. We need a playoff system in NCAA. Good work on your rankings and playoff projections though. Interesting.
  19. Please, we would still whip Jasper. We also know what we're in for this Friday night against your Horns. You guys are really good! And again in closing, we would still whip Jasper. We have beaten them three out of the last four years. I'm saying Silsbee's going to beat them anyway. We are almost all healthy again. What about ya'll?
  20. How do you have Kirbyville rated so low when it BEAT two of your top 10 teams, Carthage and Jasper? Plus, even though it didn't count, Kirbyville "beat" Diboll in a scrimmage. Kirbyville's only loss is to WOS in which there is no shame in that. Nobody beats them from 3A during the regular season. Just wondering.
  21. uh... how about Pierce "Super Deuce" Rhodes? 3A-21 Rushing and scoring champ for two straight years. He's pretty dominating on defense also.
  22. Scrubbie - The ball was stripped at the one and hit the pylon. Result, correct call, touchback.
  23. The Barbay Coaching Trilogy The Godfather at Newton A Son at Coldspring Another son at Anahuac
  24. I just got off the phone with the secretary from the Coldspring's Superintendant's office. She reported that Bryan Barbay, DC from Kirbyville High School, was hired last night during the board meeting. No official word if Barbay has accepted the position.
