Either Lee didn't bring many fans or they are all dressed up like empty seats for Halloween. I can't tell...
-
Yes, Ned would have to meet us in the regional final.
I would love a rematch with Dayton. We played very poorly in the 2nd half of that ballgame.
-
So happy to see this!!! Congrats Austin!

Dogs should have capitalized on PNG's early mistakes and could have had the 30 points in the first half. However, this is MCM and it is why this game is known outside the area.
Was anyone able to see the PNG interception in the end zone? I thought it hit the ground from where i was. Did the ball stay on top of a player without hitting the ground and he scooped it off him? Only thing I can figure. The replay was not conclusive for me. Thanks.
it was a good call, one of the few good calls that crew made last night.

Ok, here's my take on the game.
1. First half was extremely sloppy for both offenses.
2. Faircloth was waaaay too conservative in the 1st half except going for 2 after first TD which was a big head scratcher.
3. LeBaron played a very good game and the 2 INT on the stat sheet were extremely unlucky. A WR fell down and then a fluke bounce off defender on ground in endzone.
4. PNG scouted Ned well and was determined not to let 22 Krautz and 6 Perkins beat them, but 28 Leleux and 10 Fisher stepped up big time!
6. Ned played a flawless 3rd quarter. PNG played a great 4th quarter. PNG offense was on fire late in game.
7. Ned kicker had an awesome game
8. #27 Wistner for Ned is a soph and the next really good player on Ned D. Watch and see the next 2 years.
9. Ned defense is extremely underrated. PNG defense is good as well.
10. There were very questionable calls all night long.
All in all, another great MCM game and exciting finish. #6inarow

Quit bickering about "coulda", "woulda", "shoulda". The score is what it is. I would venture to guess that both teams just played their sloppiest offensive half of the season. The score is 10-6 and the game is super sloppy. Both teams are lucky that the other team has not capitalized.

I just finished watching the 20 minute documentary on YouTube. Very nicely put together by all involved. It truly depicts the importance of the rivalry in the great history behind it. Both schools have a lot to be proud of. I recommend watching it if you haven't already. My only question is… why are most of Nederland's highlights in color and PNG's are only in black and white? Just kidding Indian fans. Looking forward to a great game once again tonight!

Ned Nerd day today, pics are hilarious!
One shirt has "Got Turf?"
serious question... has PNG won since they "got turf"? I think they had turf in Faircloth's first season, a PNG win. Am I right or wrong?
-
Only 353 comments?! You'd think a team had won 5 in a row in the series or something... Just kidding. Should be a great game. A case can be made for both sides. PN-G's phenomenal passing game. Ned's dynamic running game. Should be fun!

Pre 1990: PNG- Ron McGill (Ned was real bad back then, but Ron was real good)
Post 1990: PNG- Dustin Long
Pre 1990: Ned-Kip McFarlin (he was the QB that finally got us to playoffs after some very lean years)
Post 1990: Ned- Micah Mosley(Troy Sumrall was a close 2nd)
I was born in '76 so the late 80's-now are the times I recall.

Cute...
I didn't say he was woozy going back in, but his bell got rung and he was woozy going back to the sidelines....
His bell was definitely rung when he came to the sidelines...
-
I won't pick a winner in this one, but I will predict a lot of D-1 talent, a lot of speed, lots of excuses, and lots of coaching criticism. Should be fun!

Faircloth is Neumann's _ _
he was out for several plays while being checked by the trainers. There was a pass play, a handoff to #28 Leleux, and another play that was either a QB keep or a handoff to #21 Nguyen. Then, a Ned or Central timeout and Krautz went back in. I ain't a doctor or trainer, but he didn't seem woozy gouging the Jag D the rest of the night. But, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last weekend!!

There was an interception that was called back... Why was it called back?
I'm not sure what the refs called. They seemed confused all night long. It had to be interference or holding on Ned though, it turned around the pick 6 and gave the Jags a first down.

RG, I see us winning 3 out of the 4 last games which should get us in to the playoffs. It's highly possible we could pull off all 4 games but I don't want to go there yet. Playoffs should be PNG, Nederland, Lumberton and Central not necessarily in that order.
While it's possible that y'all could go 4-0, I don't see it. 3-1 is a good probability, but 2-2 is as good of a probability as 4-0 in my opinion. Lots of parity in this district. It's all about match ups.

They were as or more disciplined than Nederland last night. CENTRAL PLAYED A GOOD, CLEAN, HARD FOUGHT CONTEST.
I agree 100%
-
I didn't think Central quit at all. They did get dominated by the Nederland O-Line in the 2nd half, but those Jags fought hard the whole game and had us on the edges of our seats until the clock read :00... Let's give both teams credit for a hard played game and move on.

Weren't both teams undefeated coming into MCM last year?
yes, and Ned was after the game as well... #zinger #toosoon?
Should be another great game. PN-G was my DC pick before the season, but Ned has narrowed the gap. Game is a toss up in my opinion, but Ned has the most explosive player of the two teams.
-
The kidwas fast, but congrats... He outran a linebacker. The corners were blocked and the safety wasn't even inv the play. He was inside for some reason. But congrats on out running a linebacker...
I agree on THAT play. But, in the 2nd half he got the corner every time. Wet field and all. #onemanwreckingcrew

Sure is quiet around here... Both teams 3-0. Winner has the inside track to the DC. Does Ned make it 6 straight vs PNG or does Faircloth have the horses this year?
-
Ironically, if the pick-6 wasn't called back Nederland woulda covered the 22 point spread...

"One Man Wrecking Crew" 35
Central 20
nah, he ain't fast...

Good drive by Central. Still a ballgame.

I remember watching this group of PNG seniors come to Nederland as freshman and put a pop-knot on us to the tune of 50-something to 20-something and I remember thinking it was gonna be rough sledding for Ned for a few years especially when this group was seniors. Fast forward three years, those freshman never beat Nederland at the varsity level and I think a lot of that has to do with Larry Neumann tweaking positions as these kids became sophs, juniors, and even seniors. A lot can happen from soph-senior year...
