Can someone explain why tomorrow's game "matters now"? I'm a little confused. If GCM wins next week they go big school and Ned drops. Ned would be 1st seed, PNG 2nd. But PNG playing Central does not affect that. If Ozen wins next week, Ned stays big school and PNG would be 1st seed in small school. Is there another scenario I'm missing or other factors I've overlooked?

A share of the district title? I think most teams still have the goal of winning district going into each season even though 4 teams make the playoffs.

Yeah both teams have their excuses ready it seems. I heard a bunch that the outcome of Ned/Central would have been different if Jacquet and Whaley weren't banged up at the end. I wonder if Seay and Barton had been truly healthy that game if there would have even been the necessity for the goal line stand? Bottom line, injuries happen, no team is ever 100 percent healthy. It's rub some dirt on it and play or next man up if it's really serious. This should be a great game. I will take the Jags in a close one.

I don't think Nederland is really good enough to be talking about when they are going to be pulling starters against GCM, just my opinion. If GCM plays turnover free ball, this game will be a contest. Still think Nederland wins.

I agree 100 percent. What is with this nonsense of talking about when the backups will go in? We have only had backups up one game so far and that was vs a bad Baytown Lee team. GCM is much better than Lee. Let's just get a win and continue the streak and get out injury free.

Same type of play happened a few years back in a Silsbee/WOS game if I remember correctly. Silsbee QB took a knee instead of spiking ball to stop the clock for a game winning FG. The play on this video though was much worse. It ended the team's season.

Turnovers and defense have been GCMs Achilles heel. If they limit turnovers and tighten up the D a little bit they are solid and can beat anyone in the district on any given night.
