1. There are a few guys on the team that have strep as well and could miss... Glad we have already punched our playoff ticket!
 2. It was a Halloween trick, raider girl... the Lumberton fans were dressed up like empty seats!
 3. Since Ned is already in the playoffs, then lots of other teams will be pulling for them this week(namely Png, Vidor, and Livingston). This should be a good ballgame. I think Ozen is the most dangerous team in the district on any given night and could pose problems for the Dogs. They should be extremely focused with their playoff lives on the line. I think the Dogs will be up to the task at home though and one step closer to that outright undefeated DC!
 4. Just curious... Did Ozen have a chance to punch one more score in at the end of the game? Did they take a knee or just get denied. It could come down to a point differential later on... Just wondering..
 5. I hate to break yalls hearts, but it ain't 5 teams fighting for 4 spots. It is 4 teams fighting for 3 spots. Nederland is IN. The worst they can finish is 5-2 in a 5 way tie for 1st place. In that scenario, the worst point differential they could have would be a +2 and that would assume an 18 point loss to Ozen. (+3 vs. Png, +3 vs. Vidor, +14 vs. Livingston, and assuming a -18 vs. Ozen = +2.)  Even if Ozen wins out and beats Ned by 18 points, the best they finish is -6. (-18 vs png, -7 vs. Vidor, +1 vs. Livingston, and assuming +18 vs. Ned=-6) In any other scenario, including Vidor winning out and being district champs if Ned loses out, there would be a team out of those 5 with 3 losses, thus putting Big Ned in the playoffs since the worst they cAn finish is 5-2. Anyone see it any differently?
 6.
Congrats Ned on the win.  I was shocked that the score wasn't much higher in this game.
Ned got off to a slow start dropping a td pass, missing a long fg, then having a punt deflect of the helmet of a blocker. The first quarter was over quickly and scoreless. After that, we scored nearly every time we had the ball before putting the backups in late. Lumberton seemed to be there to run the clock and not give up 50 points. They ran the same play over and over. Another great showing by our D.
 7. I agree that we should win. I just want to continue to see the intensity and sharpness that we have had the last 2 weeks and not overlook anyone. Looking forward to Friday!
 8. Central's fans have gone from picking their team to beat the best team in the district on the road last week to completely giving up on the team and coaching staff this week? Come on man! These are high school kids and coaches! Just remember, a team is never as GOOD or BAD as their last game... It happens so often... Just look at the Tampa Bay Bucs yesterday. Awful in all phases two weeks ago in a blowout road loss at 49ers and turn back around and look great vs. Saints. You never know...
 9. I hope our team and coaching staff is not taking this game for granted like most on this message board are. Ned needs to keep the intensity up and take care of business. It's not always easy on the road against a team with nothing to lose when you are supposed to win easy. Take care of business Dogs, one at a time!
I agree that it would be a different outcome. Ned would win by double digits now if you ask me. Raines was coming off an injury against BH and was not very sharp vs. Vidor. The offensive line has really come into it's own the past few weeks and the running game as well as Raines are getting better and better. The defense is also 100 percent healthy now and were missing 3 or 4 starters vs Vidor.  I can't remember if Pryor played that night but I know Hopkins, Taylor, and Stampley didn't. Put your focus on Central, Png, and Livingston and earn a playoff spot. Worrying about what could have been 4 weeks ago is useless. Were you at the Vidor Nederland game? No i don't think you were so you honestly can't say much about that "L" in our district game. Anyone who was at that game knows full well that we gave Nederland the best game they have had this year and we gave them that game with our LEADING RUSHER at the time out of the game. Not taking anything away from Nederland. They did what they needed to do to win. But IMO they got lucky and if Nederland and Vidor met again it would be a different outcome.
Well if we are lucky, then we have been lucky all year, except for BH when I guess our luck ran out....but wait if our luck ran out at the BH game then wasn't Vidor the next week?
Did I say yall were lucky the whole season? No I did not. I simply said that yall were lucky that night. I can't talk about the other games cuz i wasn't there. I was talking about the Vidor game. That's it.
11. Anxious to see the stats from this game tonight. I don't think Central topped 100 yards against them. Domination from the opening whistle. Great job! I did not think games from 4 or 5 years ago would impact this game at all. Offense looked good as well. Starters sat the entire 4th quarter. Keep it going guys!
 12. I would not say that we have a high powered offense this year... We do have a high powered defense though. Also, we no longer run the spread like the 08 team did. So, to be honest, I see no similarities between the 08 game and the 11 game. I think it will be a good one, just not sure why it has to relate or resemble any games of the past...
This game seems identical to the 2008 game.  nederland had a very high powered offense featuring Grogan, Bellows, and Selenga (either him or Brady). We started off not to hot in district.  We just came off a loss to Livingston and a beat down to West Brook.  Everyone picked us to lose.  We held that high powered Bulldog team to their season low of 10 points while we scored 20.  That was a running Central team that ran downhill right at them with no real big name backs with a QB that threw only a few times a game. I know that this Central team ended up going 4 rounds deep in the playoffs, but early inthe season and in district, they appeared to look mediocre at best, just like this Central team.
13. Why are we talking about 2006 and 2007 ? WO-S and PN-G have great all time series records against Ned too, did not help them in 2011. Nederland has a good defense for the first time in a long time, what Central has done to us in the past will have no bearing on this game other than hopefully keeping our boys focused. I am sure Central played well last week, but LCM has not been as impressive in district as they were in pre district. Central lost to Livingston 35-0 who lost to Ned and lost to Ozen who lost to Vidor who lost to Ned. Not sure why you think you guys should be favored.. I expect another hard fought game, but the past won't impact this game and if you are expecting the Ned defense you have seen in the past then you are in for a surprise.
 14.
Jake94 #8 Ogrydziak the kicker was injured but what you don't point out is the linebacker Wood stepping up and kicking great along with playing a defensive position with lots of tackles and a sack. Couron was missed, we hope he recovers soon and will be ready for next weeks game. Overall the team did a great job defense and offense.
Wood did wonderful. It was a great team effort. I was just pointing out that we were missing players as well. Injuries are a big part of football games.
 15. Surfer73- Ned played without all district defensive end Koby Couron - I am sure you remember him from last week... Also Ned was without their starting kicker as well. Injuries have not been kind to the Dogs the last several years, so not much sympathy from me. Mays would have made a difference, but so would those two guys. Injuries are part of the game and depth is important. Glad we have it this year. Livingstons major yardage came on 81 yard run first play of game and 70 yard drive in garbage time down 21 with 5 mins left. The Dogs defense dominated this game and that's no "bull".
 16. Couron #92 an All-District DE and Ogrydziak #8 our kickoff guy, kicker, and xp guy did not play.. I am sure Livingston missed Mays, but we missed those guys too. Nederland's defensive scheme was awesome. Livingston got 81 yards on the first play of the game and a 70 yard drive in garbage time down by 21 with under 5 mins left to make their stats look much better. They did not get much between the first play and the last drive. Great job DOGS! That was the best game we have played all season on both sides of the ball in my opinion. Collins is probably extremely sore this morning. Our guys hit him hard all night.
Wrap up and keep Collins in check and Vidor has a legit shot.  Nederland did a decent job of running against their D.  Should be a good game.
Couron #92 an All-District DE and Ogrydziak #8 our kickoff guy, kicker, and xp guy did not play.. I am sure Livingston missed Mays, but we missed those guys too. Did Devonte Mays play for Livingston tonight ? (#24)
#24 Did not play
18. Zac Taylor was the logical choice for Wilddog QB. With him out, I would like to see Colton Kimler run it if we use it at all.
 19. This game should be a dandy. PN-G is the first passing team that we have faced and could give our secondary problems. Nederland's down linemen and LB's are very good and might be the best that PN-G has faced so far. PN-G is the best offense we have been up against so far in my opinion. Nederland should be able to move the ball on PN-G both on the ground and thru the air. It should be a great matchup. I think it will come down to special teams. Who knows what will happen?! Friday can't get here soon enough.
 20.

Everybody keeps talking about the offense and how great they did... but what about that amazing defense Nederland has. According to the newspaper and I quote "I wish we would have played good enough defense where we didn't have that situation at the end".....WOW! Well, maybe you ought to take a look at the offense....you would not have been put in that situation if they would have done what they were suppose to do. The defense is not getting the credit they deserve.  The total yards in the game is 178 yards for Vidor, they have been averaging almost double that against teams, so that tells you right there that was the difference in the ballgame. The TV announcers even choose 2 offense players as players of the game over the defense. I guess the old saying is true.....offense gets all the glory and defense wins championships!  So to the Nederland Defense.....with battling the adversity with losing two starters and stepping up and playing so well I will praise you if no one else will! WAY TO GO DEFENSE!
Not making excuses or anything, Nederland won that game fair and square but IMO i think it would've been a different game if #2 the leading rusher in 20-4A would've been in the game.
Research shows that 99% of the time when a sentence begins with "not to make excuses or anything" it ends with an excuse for a loss. I am certain that Ned's starting middle linebacker, best kick returner on the team, and fastest kid in our secondary would've impacted this game as well using your logic. Nederland was not Sharp on offense, defense played very well, and we made just enough plays to win. Always a good game when these two meet.
 21. Great game, Dogs! Never gave up. Chain Gang Defense was very impressive. I am so ready for that great little tailback at WO-S to graduate. What a tough runner he is at 5'5 175! Fast and strong. The game was good overall. Nederland controlled the 1st quarter, WO-S controlled the 2nd and 3rd quarters, and Nederland again looked strong in the 4th. Officiating was awful all night. Both teams got their share of bad calls. Nederland's D has improved, but 3rd downs and big plays are still a problem. Very impressed with the new WR'S at Ned, particularly Shaw and Kimler. Raines had an up and down night, but finished really well and looks to be much, much more comfy than last year. #24 ran well for Dogs and made a huge difference in 2nd half.. WHO is he? Loved the call at the end to go for 2 after the great TD catch by Shaw. The 2 point conversion was CLOSE. It is the type of play that has not gone our way the past several years so it was nice to get one. Great game Stangs and Dogs. I think both teams will get better and better throughout the year. Great football game!
 22.
Dogs played all four quarters. They looked a little stronger late. Shaw made some key catches, Raines took a beating but recovered. Who is #9 for Nederland, he can play? Where was Justin Thomas for WOS?
Colton Kimler and he's only a soph...
