  1. I heard through the grapevine that Neumann has his own recruiting office at the ShIre... Word is Fairclothe hangs at the car wash in Lumberton and sends his recruiter to HF on every other weekend. Nederland booster club is working OT to make the ends meet... Fairclothe just shows pics of the stadium and field house... Plus he gives away a deluxe wash to interested party's... And that my friends is your Outdoor Report.........

I like this guy! He's pretty cool(for a PNG fan...)
  2. With Seay I think Ned has a real shot at winning and maybe to the point of a pick 'em if there was a spread on the game. Without Seay Ned's offense is pretty pedestrian and will struggle to win individual matchups against Central. Much like our recent game with KP, Ned's backup QB made some hay against us because there was no game plan for him once the starter got hurt. That, along with the fact that Ned probably played their cleanest game of the year. Last year a guy like Kimler who had 5 catches for 135 could threaten Central on the outside, this year Ned doesn't have that type of edge personnel to keep Central honest.

Ned has to win this game with defense. Central being held to 14 points by a bad PAM defense and 21 points helped by 3 turnovers by an equally as bad SC defense at least gives Ned a good statistical chance. Like I said though, I'm not sure Ned has the personnel this year to exploit Central's weaknesses.

Good analysis. A couple of major differences from the Crosby game other than Seay of course. One is good and one is bad. #13 Bordelon one of our top WR tore his ACL vs Vidor, that's the bad news. The good news, RB #22 Krautz has become a dynamic playmaker as a RB and at times a slot WR. I agree that the D is gonna have to play like they did vs you guys to stay in the game. I'm still hoping that Seay being out is a rumor. The backup QB can sling it, but we need Seay out there making plays in this game.
  3. So pretty much just offense and defense will be the downfall

Well, last year I would say it was offense because Ned had a really good D... There is not a dominant D this year in the area in my opinion. I know last year and the year before that Georgetown beat us because they had a superior QB compared to us and were much more dynamic and unpredictable with their play calling which keeps even a really good D off balance. Our D was exhausted in both of those games because we could not sustain drives.
  4. No, because Dayton could only muster 265 total yards with the home refs on Humble and scored 0 points in the second half against GP. If Dayton plays KP the same way they did Humble they will lose. KP rushed for over 330 yards on Dayton last year and also had 2 pick 6's on defense. I don't see anything that has changed between the two to say it won't happen again.

Coug14: What's your take on Ned/Central both with and without Seay? Ned played pretty well against Crosby(and the backup QB got some experience) then played poorly against Dayton and Clear Lake. They have looked good in the first two district games, similar to the way they looked against Crosby. How do you see this one?
  5. Nederland 27(in a row)
    Central 26

Sage Seay sits the whole game and comes it at WR with :10 left on 4th and goal from the 11 and catches a jump ball as time expires. The extra point is up.... And it's GOOD!!!

In all seriousness, this will be a very difficult task on the road against the best team in the district. It will take our absolute best to win this one in my opinion. Wouldn't my scenario be great?!
  6. we still have a kicking problem across the tracks, poor blocking up front = blocked extra points. Not happy with ours at all. To me he looks like he is only kicking from 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage, should be
7 yards. Don't know if this is intentional or not. Havent really payed that much attention to it but seems to happen on a regular basis. on special teams we pooch kick, just don't like kicking to the opposing teams star running backs. you would think our coaching staff would kick away from the star players after scouting them. so far the strategy has worked, but the idea of giving them field position at the 40,45, 50 on a regular basis is bad for business. I would rather see them kick the ball deep and pin em back about the 20, 25, maybe the 30.

We have been using the angle pooch kick, too. I'm not a huge fan of it either.
  7. It was a good game right up until the turnover bug bit OZEN. It was fun to listen to on the radio, sounds like NED got their kicker straightened out. Congrats on the win to NED and to Ozen for fighting till the end. Now the district race heats up the next couple of weeks.

Ned kicker has been fine all along. He had one bad game vs Clear Lake on a sloppy field. It was as much the snaps and holds that night as it was the kicks. The whole team played poorly that night against the worst team we've faced all year. That was an embarrassing loss, but maybe that lit the fire for the improvements we've been making?
  8. Bigned85, we must give credit when it is due. Those kids in that program just find a way to get it done. I come from a Championship program @ PA Lincoln. I know Pedigree when I see it. Them Dogs got it.
    Congrats again on the win

BigCam is nothing but class. I think I may have seen you from a distance last night. White #25 jersey?
  9. phunter308, we have some weaknesses on D sometimes, but I doubt that Nederland will be able to exploit it.

If Nederland hopes to win, they better be ready for a high scoring affair. When our playbook is open, no team this year have stopped us from moving the ball and scoring. I know Nederland have been scoring a lot of points, but vs horrible teams.

Our defense has gotten better each week since week 1 when we let West Brook score 40 on us. We hit hard, we have size up front who seem to be getting better penetration.

I haven't seen Big Ned play this year, but I've done ny research. That along with the Dogs being a little banged up, here is my prediction...

    Nederland - 21

    Central - 38

Wait... Ned has only played "horrible teams in district" so far. The teams that Central has played are a combined 0-4, ours are 2-2.

I'd say that Central is definitely the team to beat in district this season and we enter as the underdog this week, no doubt about it. I think we will have an uphill battle even if we were 100% healthy. Hoping that the guys that got hurt last night can play this week and be effective. Central is a really good team.

Hope for an injury free and hard fought ball game. This game will be tougher for both than the first 2 district games were. Nederland is steadily improving, but we will have to play our best game of the season to win this one.
