1. I think this will be a good game too. I am excited to see Raines progress as the season moves on. Goose Creek is getting back two running backs this week that did not play against LC-M last week so it will be interesting to see what impact those guys have as well. I think the Dogs will be solid on both sides of the ball this week and win the game at home. Should be a good ballgame in my opinion.
2. Congrats WO-S on a strong showing. I was impressed with the Mustangs overall team speed. Roberts is a stud at WR and the QB Garrett and bevy of runningbacks were too much for the Dogs defense. Kicking game and kickoff coverage were the only areas in which WO-S did not excel. I think the Mustangs will have a very good season and good luck the rest of the way. As for my Dogs.. Lots to work on. I still hate the spread offense for us. We lost our edge several years back when we switched to it and never got it back. We went from being 1st or 2nd each yr in district to hoping for the 4th spot each year since the change. I think the soph QB will improve as the season goes on. I wish they would have let him throw downfield more. I do like him running the ball and as he gets used to the speed of the game I think he will be a solid QB throwing as well. The Dogs looked great on kickoff returns and kickoff coverage as well. We did not look all that great fielding punts though. Kemp and Benjamin looked good at times running the ball. Sonnier is fun to watch in the Wildcat. Defense played well in spots but got burnt by missed tackles, big plays for TDs and 3rd down conversions. Overall, Nederland looks bigger this season on both lines and has more team speed than last year I think. WO-S was clearly the better team, but I think the Dogs will improve throughout the season and be in the thick of the playoff race.
3. Sounds as though you guys have another great team. Good luck this season. I did not get to make it to the scrimmage tonight.. My question is after seeing Nederland and WO-S the last two weeks, what is your prediction?
4. I think Dayton is a big favorite going in. I think they have a really good team this season as they have in the last several years. Hopefully the Dogs can put forth a good showing. I was surprised how easily Dayton handled WO-S which kinda scares me for our chances tonight.
5. No, Bear... Kemp started in the secondary last 2 years for the dogs. I am not familiar with Troy or Hopkins. Excited to see all 3 play.
6. I am hearing that Jake Kemp is running the ball some in practice. Who else is in the mix? Is Trevin Sonnier playing any RB or is he still at WR/DB? I think he'd make an excellent RB as well. What's the scoop?
7. I think there is a 3rd QB who may be in the mix as well.. I have not seen his name mentioned yet in this thread.. For those trying to figure it out, think WILDCAT(or WildKingdom or whatever Barrow called it) QB from last season... Kid can run and throw.. Any of the 3 choices would be great for Nederland and with the injuries the last few years we probably need THREE good QBs.
8. I'll say LU by 8 tonight... Lazeek, want to wager lunch on this one?
9. I think Trevin Sonnier will be Nederland's best player next season. He will play both ways and should have a great season.
10. I think the rebound numbers have to do with the amount of shots we miss. The more shots we miss, the more opportunities for rebounds. Also, our schedule is not as difficult as we have faced the past two years, no Memphis, Louisville, Kentucky, etc. on it. So, the teams we are playing are not as talented and don't shoot as well either. I need much more of a silver lining that rebounds for me to get excited about this team.
11. Nederland will be strong at QB with Dionte Forney and Tyler Smith both back Strong at WR with Salenga, Sonnier, Schlett, and Holden Butler back Solid at LB with DeLord and Brown back Secondary should be fine with Sonnier, Ridgway, Kemp, Butler, and Alpough Question marks will be at RB, O-Line, and D-Line The 5 guys we will miss the most in my opinion are Lovelady, Louvier, Brady, Cardenas, and Trahan
12. LU loses 71-46  :o  Hope you guys did not bet on this game!
13. I hope you guys are right.. I just think it will be a tough game. MTSU is better than both teams we have faced so far and the game is on the road. Hope we win it!
14.
MTSU is 1-2, both losses on the road against D1 teams (Ohio & Marshall).  I think this will be a close game with Lamar winning 74-72, but I'm always the optimist. Here's a look at some of the other games in the SLC: UNT at UTA (tonight) - UNT is favored but UTA might win. Tomorrow: Central Arkansas at #1 Kansas -  Care to guess that score? SHSU at #5 Kentucky -  SHSU needs to be extremely hot from the outside to have a chance. SELA at Miss State -  I think SELA will put up a good fight. UTPA at TAMU-CC -  I bet UTPA doesn't stage a comeback like they did against us.
PREDICTIONS: MTSU over LU by 10.. First road game for the Cards will be tough.. UNT over UTA BY 4 KANSAS by 55 over C. ARK KENTUCKY by 16 over SHSU MISS ST by 9 over SELA TAMU-CC by 22 over UTPA
15. Hate to hear that news, TT. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
16. Cougtalk, I feel as though the better team won. It was a great game though and an exciting ending. Discounting the Dogs comeback the way you have is ridiculous. Blaming it on "subs" and "injuries" shows your lack of class. If that were the case then to make things fair you guys should have had to start your Defensive End at QB like we did, take your best WR out at the half since he hurt his arm, and have your starting RB play the entire game at RB and LB like ours did. No excuses, the better team won the game, but give credit where credit is due. The Dogs made a very good comeback. If you would have told me before the game that we would contain Merka the way we did, then I would have bet big money on the Dogs. Evans absolutely ate our lunch though and was the difference in the game. Good luck to Crosby the rest of the way.
17. 20-4a is now 5-0 vs. 19-4a this season. PN-G over Barbers Hill PN-G over Crosby Lumberton over Barbers Hill Central over Goose Creek Memorial PN-G over Barbers Hill The Saturday games will be much tougher though.
18.

I think that Crosby gets steam rolled tonight.
Uh.........This won't happen tonight and it will not happen tomorrow night either!
Correct on both counts since the game is 2p.m. Saturday.

[Hidden Content] TOUPS GRAPHICS PLAYOFF PREVIEWS BIDISTRICT The 19-4A and 20-4A district schedule is complete. Congratulations to Crosby and PN-G for winning the district championships going undefeated. Losing only once in district was Dayton who got 2nd in 19-4A while in 20-4A Central ended the season with a two game losing streak, but still finished in 2nd place. In 19-4A Goose Creek Memorial got 3rd place and Barbers Hill enters the playoffs as the 4th place team. 20-4A had a chaotic finish with Nederland winning their last three games to capture 3rd place and Vidor had to win the last game to qualify as the 4th place team. Toups Graphics will guide you through the 4A playoffs until the last team gets eliminated or wins state. GOOD LUCK TO ALL EIGHT TEAMS! Regardless of my predictions on Thursday, play your hardest and never stop belieiving in yourself, your team, and your goals. 4A PLAYOFFS BIDISTRICT FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13 Barbers Hill vs PN-G Stallworth Stadium, Baytown, TX 7:30 PM PN-G wins 20-4A and draws Barbers Hill in the first round. The Indians enter the game state ranked and very confident. The Eagles will gaurantee 110% effort but will it be enough. The 2 teams openned the season against each other and PN-G came out as 1 point winners. Since then PN-G hasn't lost while Barbers Hill has been on the wrong side of the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat several times. Can the Eagles stay with the powerful Indians for four quarters or will the Indian mascot need an IV to replace lost liquids from dancing to Cherokee continuously all night? Who will win? Check back Thursday for..... TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION Goose Creek Memorial vs Central Babe Zaharias Stadium, Beaumont, TX 7:30 PM The Jaguars host the Patriots of Goose Creek on Friday at the Babe. Central enters the playoffs on a terrible skid while Memorial had an off week to get ready for the game. Will the Jaguars rebound after two straight losses and win or will the Patriots stun the Jaguars on their home field? Who will win? Check back Thursday for.... TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14 Crosby vs Nederland Woodforest Bank Stadium, The Woodlands, TX, 2 PM The Cougars win 19-4A by rebounding from a horrible start. The Cougars are on a roll with a vicious defense and a great running back / quarter back running combination. The Bulldogs were considered road kill in early October, but an unbelievable fairy tale ending catapults the Bulldogs from the bottom of the cellar all the way to 3rd place. Can the much improved Bulldogs give the 19-4A champs a run for their money, or will the Cougars treat the Bulldogs like one does when negatively reinforcing a puppy in house training (with a rolled up newspaper). Who will be howling on Friday night, the Cougars receiving the teeth of a mighty Bulldog bite, or will the Bulldogs get the wrong end of a tail whipping. Check back Thursday for.... TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION Dayton vs Vidor Sam Houston Stadium, Huntsville, TX 7:30 PM The Pirates were considered a real threat to win 20-4A at the beginning of the season but went 0-3 against the top three teams. After getting crushed by Crosby, Dayton shuffles some personel around, moves up three sophomores (including the QB) and BAM! After three games the Broncos look very impressive. The Bronco defense hasn't allowed a point scored in the last eight quarters and the offense is stampeding down the field. Can the Bronco defense continue it's domination against run based teams. If Vidor can't establish the run on Friday and fall behind by a few scores the stampede could be on. Will the Black Pearl be sailing to the horizon with a victory, or will the Broncos knock down all the masts and send the Pirate's ship to the bottom of the River? Who will win? Check back Thrursday for.... TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION TOUPS GRAPHICS POWER RANKINGS NOVEMBER 8 With the regular season over Toups Graphics Power ranks the eight playoff teams from 20-4A and 19-4A. #1 PN-G - Finishes the regular season undefeated (enough said) #2 Crosby - Goes through 19-4A undefeated #3 Dayton - After it's loss to Crosby, the Broncos start a sophomore QB, over the last four games the play has drastically improved. The Broncos defense hasn't allowed a point in the last eight quarters. The Broncos might just be playing the best 4A football east of the San Jancinto now. #4 Central - Two losses in the last two weeks have exposed weaknesses in the Jaguars. #5 Goose Creek Memorial - Except for the Dayton game, Memorial has played very good this season. #6 Vidor - The running power game is exposed in three district losses. If the Pirates can't find a passing game, life will be tough in Huntsville this Saturday when they play the Broncos. #7 Barbers Hill - Without turnovers this is a good team, against top notch 4A teams the Eagles might just be 1/4 step slower. The Eagles will need a great all around effort against #1 PN-G this Friday. #8 Nederland - Given up for dead four weeks ago, the Bulldogs watched the entire Rocky movie collection and storm back into the playoffs. The CE King video vs Dayton video is now uploaded... An audio glitch at the end of the video delayed its finish. ENJOY THE VIDEO! [Hidden Content]
My rankings would be: 1. PN-G 2. Central 3. Dayton(I know they lost to Crosby) 4. Crosby 5. Nederland 6. Vidor 7. Goose Creek 8. Barbers Hill
20. Well, I am convinced seeing the kid make a few tackles on long runbacks that he could and SHOULD be playing more than just kicker and punter for the Dogs. I have seen him make two excellent form tackles around midfield and I think he would be a good WR, CB, or Safety for the Dogs. Kicking is what he does best. But, the kid looks like he is a great athlete as well.
21. Nederland's kicker attempted a 57-yard FG at one of the home games in wet conditions. If I am remembering correctly, it was wide left but had the distance. So much has happened this football season though that my recollection of the kick may be wrong.
