1. I will go with Ozen by 10. Ozen defense is far superior to that of the Bears.

Have you seen Dionte play QB yet? I have been impressed thus far. I think we may end up starting him next year if he keeps playing the way he has the last 2 weeks.
Well, let's just hope for Ozen's sake he doesn't throw for another 200+ yards.  That's all I'm saying.  He get's over 200 yards passing, Ozen stays home no matter what happens Saturday
Is Ozen still running the 2 QB system or have they settled on one?
Actually, we'll be 3rd if we win.  ;D  What you meant to say was "Thank God for the 4th string QB!"
 9.
Come on, give me a little credit.  8 recievers does not mean 8 wide recievers. I was pointing out that the QB spreads it around. He doesn't have or need a favorite target. Several of the RBs, multiple TEs and wide recievers all make up the 8 to who I was referring.
I am just messing with you. It's gonna be a good game. QB Hughes, WR's Sparks and Keith impressed me when I watched the Raiders offense. Brady is the main target for Nederland and is banged up, but the Dogs throw the ball to several WR's and also to the RB's. Should be a great ballgame.

 11.
QB- Hughes from Lumberton or Doty. Gonzales has thrown too many picks. RB- Caleb Harmon RB- Quniton Jackson RB- Shane Pittman WR- Zach Sonnier WR- Blake Reynega WR- Ryan Brady WR- Kid from Ozen??? OL- Lunceford...no idea about the rest No idea on defense. DJ Schexnaider has to be leading the district in sacks after having 7 the last two weeks. Dre Dunbar Isadore from Ozen Beard I am clueless on the rest.
Just so nobody else jumps you, Isadore is at TCU. I think you mean Ricky Francis or possible Pierre Harmon who are both doing very well for Ozen. Agree with most of your picks. I like DeRon over Reyenga though, I know the stats don't support that though, but he is y'alls best WR in my opinion. I also like Marcus Louvier from Nederland on the D-Line.
 12.
Beard was injured and out for the game and I remember every time they gave it to Grogan, he gained big yardage.  I was surprised Nederland kept passing because they were not having any success in the air.  Had they stayed with Grogan more, who knows how that would have impacted the outcome.   There were several comments from Nederland posters who said the same after the game.
I absolutely agree with Domination Station for once! Beard got hurt early in that game. Grogan was getting between 5-10 yards everytime he touched the ball. Our stud WR Asa Cardenas was suspended for that game which really hurt the passing game. Nederland could not and would not tackle Hanna. I was impressed with the size and the speed of the Defensive Ends from Lumberton. Lots of differences this year. Lumberton does not have a Hanna. Nederland does not have a Grogan. Nederland does, however, have two capable backs in Lovelady and Cardenas. I was shocked at Lumberton's lack of size this year in the PNG game. They still come at you hard and play the whole 48 mins but just did not look like what I have seen from them the last 2 years. The QB looks like a good dual threat, but the line put him in some bad spots in that game. Ned is good in the passing game with Brady as the top weapon and several other good WR's. The biggest improvement for Nederland from last year to this year is the Defense. They hit a lot harder and do a good job stopping plays up the middle. We still miss tackles and are vulnerable to the big play, but overall a great improvement. I think it is gonna be a really good game come Friday.
 13.
Nederland has always had a faithful and spirited fan base (as evidenced in this thread). The team seems to be down this year I guess because of injuries. But I'm glad Nederland is doing better as of late, it will make for a better game with Lumberton. Lumberton did not play well against PNG, that is an under statement as they were never in the game from the start. They played a conservative game against LCM last week, but they took care of business and did what they had to do for the win. Lumberton has 8 very good receivers and the QB uses them all. The QB runs very well and much better than Nederland's. The RBs have more depth now than the beginning of the year with the emergence of McDonald. The O line is back and healthy. The run defense is solid, they have three starters back healthy after getting hurt in the Livingston game.  Nederland should expect a swarm of blitzes led by the beast, Anthony Beard. The defensive secondary is ready for the one on one pass defense that goes with the blitz. If Lumberton limits their penalties and turnovers, they will win by 13 points. All said, I expect a very exciting game and what a way to end the regular season! Go Raiders.
Do the Raiders have any formations where all 8 awesome WR's are out there at once?  ::)
 14. Faircloth without a doubt in my opinion. Neumann has done a good job with the hand he was dealt, but come on... Undefeated first year coach takes a team that won 1 district game last season to the District Championship?? NO BRAINER!
 15.
Why hasn't he been in the QB mix from the start?  He played QB for Nederland in middle school and in 9th grade and he was awesome.  He was a much better QB IMO than the other Nederland QBs including the chosen one.  Yeah it points to a lot of different problems with Nederland including coaching. That's my dig.
I think this goes back to the fact of what is best for the TEAM. If we have a healthy Bellow or Tyler Smith for that matter, then DIONTE is extremely helpful as a 6'5 Defensive End, Tight End, and even Slot Receiver. Is he a better QB than the aforementioned? Maybe so. But, I do know for sure that Bellow and Tyler Smith could not play TE or DE. That is probably what Neumann was thinking. Dionte would have been the QB much earlier in the year if he had not gotten injured vs. Friendswood playing defense. I remember a lot of people arguing with me when I said that the first THREE Ned QBs were out due to injury. Atterberry was 4th on the depth chart. Nobody thought about Dionte to step in at that point because he was injured. None of this matters, all that matters is the kid IS the QB now and he is doing a GREAT job! Keep it going Dogs! The last few weeks have been much more fun to watch.

[Hidden Content]
Hopefully, we will be seeded "low" enough in the tourney to play SHSU first. We KNOW they ALWAYS lay an egg at the tourney!
 17. Central A 8th grade 26 C.O. Wilson A 8th grade 24 Central scored with 47 seconds left to take lead.. I have not heard if it is final or not. If so, this is the first win in the series for CENTRAL in a LONG time!
 18. PN-G is a great football team! They are the class of our district this year. It hurts to say that! lol But, this post suggests that they have been pulling their starters in every game. They did in fact pull the starters vs. Ozen at the beginning of the 4th and probably could have had 2-3 more scores if they continued to play the 1st stringers and continue to pass instead of just running the clock. In the game vs. Lumberton, the backups did not come in until 4 mins. left in the game and they had a 4 TD lead. In the game vs. Vidor, the starters were in the whole game. The starters were not pulled against Nederland or LC-M either. The Livingston game was close until the 4th quarter, so the starters stayed in. So, I guess the answer to the original question as to what would happen if "PN-G poured it on" would be to look at all the games where the starters were in. What would have happened if PN-G poured it on vs. Ozen, probably 49-0 in my opinion. Indians are getting better and better each week, but some of the posts are borderline ridiculous. Central vs. PN-G will be a good game.
 19.

Can everyone move on to the Livingston game and quit whining over something that can't be changed?????????  Nederland won.  We were outplayed, just like the PNG game.  We came in half-focused and lost again!!!
i don't agree. i don't think vidor was outplayed. this game was nothing like the png game. i don't think we were half focused either. i think nederland played a good game. i think we should have ran to the outside more. i think the field conditions hurt our team more than nederland's. the receivers know where they are going and the defensive cover teams don't. our running game is greatly affected by not being able to make cuts. i know at least 4 or 5 times our back was running in space and fell trying to make a cut. the officials were horrible, but not just for vidor. they just stunk it up and made themselves look bad with their indecisiveness. it was a good game, but we came up short. on a better field, i believe vidor wins the game, but it is what it is. you have to overcome those problems on the road. i knew before the game that we would have to overcome some calls, etc. that's what happens when you go on the road in high school football against a good team on their last home game with their backs up against it. another thing that annoys me while i'm venting...do we ever blitz? dionte had time to make dinner back there at times. i know we were in a max cover defense all night, but can we send someone every once in a while? ok i'm done...on to next week.
I think that was a pretty good assessment. Game was very evenly matched and could have gone either way. Officials were pretty bad both ways in my opinion. I am not sure what happens on a dry field, but Coach Matthews was quoted in the paper saying that he hoped it rained, rained, and rained some more. The predicitability and lack of a passing game is what beat the Pirates in my opinion.
 20. Pirate Stadium will be ELECTRIC with the playoffs on the line. Vidor wins by 7 and punches its playoff ticket!
 21. I figured PN-G would be improved this season, but I never thought they'd be 9-0. They have really done a good job of improving every week. I thought they were overrated early on as they were squeaking by in games, but they have really turned it on and impressed me the past several weeks. Balanced offense and a very good defense is a good combination.

No mention at all of the Dogs playing a pretty good game with no turnovers?
Wow. You only see what you want to see, don't you? I'm not saying the Bulldogs didn't play good. I'm commenting on our poor defensive play. I didn't know I had to say how well you played in order to post.  ::) Some people. Sheesh...
I only see what is there.
 23.
Well, I decided to apply badndn's 12-hour rule for posting after last night.  ;D I haven't read through every post, so I don't know who has been classless in posting or not. Nor do I really care. The reason we lost is simple: We came out soft. The defense played soft the entire first drive, kind of like someone said "Let's defer until the second half and give them the ball so we can see what they'll do on offense." NO! That is what we supposedly watch film for! We battled back, yes, but we never should of had to. We should have came out early and punched them in the mouth. We didn't. The defense never looked good until the third quarter. Was there some questionable calls? Yes. Even the glorious scoreboard the announcer kept mentioning all night clearly showed that Dozhier's hand was going forward and that was not a fumble. You would have to have zero knowledge about the game to think that was a fumble. But still, Nederland got the ball. But I can't blame the loss on that. Bad calls happen in games. I'm sure that Nederland would like to complain about the bad call of uneccesary roughness in the fourth. That kid couldn't stop and was already too close when the whistle was blown. But bad calls are, unfortunately, part of the game. You have to be able to overcome them. Plain and simple, if we hadn't played so darn soft at the beginning of the game and had not let them score with ease on that first drive, we win the game. But, just like the PN-G game, we waited too long to pull the trigger. I hope that this is classy enough. I don't see anything in here that could be considered classless, especially after the rigamarole that happened after the PN-G game. Boys, you have to wake up. You play like this against Livingston next week, who just happened to beat Central by the way, and we'll be sitting at home again after district. You better get fired up early. Pull the trigger!!
So, in essence, the Pirates beat themselves? No mention at all of the Dogs playing a pretty good game with no turnovers?
