Mayfield:
What time is the game?
[quote name="RaiderGirl92" post="1511060" timestamp="1407564682"]
Ugh Lumberton is having inter squad scrimmage tomorrow and I have orientation at the same time :( lol[/quoteDon't feel bad Nederland doing the same and im at work also -
-
I remember several games from this series . Some good and some bad if you are a Bulldog fan.
I remember the 63/0 beatdown at Nederland.
I remember the 55/14 Nederland playoff win forget the year though.'07 maybe?
I remember the 21/7 Nederland playoff win at LU in 2012.
I remember Dayton dominating a scrimmage that same year.
I remember Nederland dominating the scrimmage last year.
This is a good game to schedule for both teams. What happened last time nederland and Dayton played. Hell didn't nederland beat Dayton 55-0 in playoffs. See how the games go since stewert isn't head coach

Last years scrimmage was good for both teams. Nobody really wins or loses in a scrimmage and a lot of kids play. Here's what I remember from last years Ned/WOS scrimmage(if my memory is still good).
Ned could not run the ball on WOS
Preston White connected on some long passes
WOS did not use their starting RB or Shaw
WOS alternated Rutledge/Sterling Cole at QB
Seay had an INT and a TD catch I think
WOS had a long TD pass to a little bity fast WR
The Meats were really good for Ned
Ned 26-13 at end of 3q and played 2nd string 4q
WOS scored twice in 4q to "win" 27/26
Pretty nice crowd for a scrimmage.
Ned improved tremendously the following week in a scrimmage vs Dayton that they dominated from start to finish.
WOS struggled the following week in scrimmage vs Vidor
Ned defense looked absolutely lost week 0 on road at Crosby, but turned it around rest of season.
That's what I remember. Anyone else?Who came out on top?

I would be willing to bet that Sage plays a lot more in the secondary in district than Neumann is leading on.. It will be hard to keep him off the field.
-
My guess would be that Krautz will be running the ball mostly for the Dogs at RB and Barton at FB. Unless there are some underclassmen that I am unaware of.
Lol, totally understand. Not aware of who totes the rock for Big Ned. I know we try not to mention kids names, but whom should we expect to carry the load?? Jersey #'s please
I'm a firm believer in Perennial Champs, so the respect is there, but I really feel the District will see a new DC. Only because All good things come to an end. Make no mistake, it won't be Easy to take it, nor will I be surprised if Big Ned won it again. There is a big difference between a "Program" and a Team. Big Ned definitely is a Program; retools, never Rebuilds. Much Respect
Much like my hometown Titans -
Any chance Leon plays both ways? Will little Mayfield have a shot at varsity and if so what positon(s)?
Can't wait until the season start so i can come back and say i told yall from the start. Love watching cowboy play he is the real deal.

When Sage played QB for the freshman team, the offense was really fun to watch. With Sage at QB and Barton running the ball, most of the games were settled by halftime. If indeed he does play QB, the backfield will be exciting with Seay, Krautz, and Barton. I just hope if he plays QB that Neumann will let him double as a safety like Kendal Briles did for Stephenville back in the day! Any other news on the rumored transfer QB from Clear Lake?

The only thing Vidor will beat Nederland in is rushing attempts...

7-0 at half. Ned dominated the first half but only had 7 points to show for it. PNG tied it at 7, then Seay put the Dogs ahead 14-7 with a TD run. PNG tied it up and then the tide turned the first time with the fumbled kickoff that PNG turned into their first lead at 17-14. The offsides penalty came with 5:30 left in the game and was big no doubt. Ned drove down and took a 21-17 lead. Stuffed the Indians 4th and 1 from the 5. Then, interception in the end zone by Sage Seay to end the game. Seay had 1 TD and 2 INT on defense and Sparks led PNG on offense with 2 TD. Both are back this year. Should be a whale of a game!
yes we were down 14 -0 at half, but going into the last 3 minutes when the bad offsides on fourthdown occurred yes , we made the necessary adjustments and had the game well in check as I said, you take away the 98 yards of offense that your dogs got on that last scoring drive, and Ned only had less than 200 yards of offense the whole game. If and I say if because I can I can only assume, the kid doesn't jump offsides we get the ball back on your side of the field presumably depending on how far the punt went from your endzone and who knows what would have happened. The stats don't lie, but seeing how the whole first half the dogs had nearly all of their offensive possessions on our side of the field and couldn't put but 14 points up I think it says a lot. Ned owned the first half no doubt in my mind, but the second half was a different story. That game will haunt me for ages lol, for some reason The Chief always goes for it on fourth down instead of kicking fieldgoals lol, don't know why he leaves the points on the field. He did the same thing when we played in the Alamo dome, in fieldgoal range with the game on the line and got stuffed at the line of scrimmage. SMH but he is the coach not me, im just voicing my opinion, he is the coach, A lot of highs and lows, but in the end I am happy we have him and hope he stays for a long long time. It is nice to have a team that can move the ball both in the air and on the ground, just wish we had that nasty defense to go with it. Kinda worried about our offensive line this year, loosing the coach may have some ill effects on us, not sure how big they will be this year could be one of our shorter offensive lines if im hearing right.

Y'all had the game "in check" at halftime with 0 points? The game turned the first time when we fumbled a kickoff. The game turned the 2nd time when y'all had the bad offsides penalty on 4th down. I do agree that it was a defensive struggle though. I don't think either team had that game "in check" until it was 0:00 on the clock.
I don't see us winning by 14. MCM is 9 times out of 10 pretty close. Every now and then there is a thumping but for the most part they are usually very tight. have to agree we got out coached. Last year the chief should have depended on Mr. East s foot in the last three minutes and kicked the two field goals to win 22-21 instead of running the ball on fourth down when we barley had 45 yards rushing the ball the entire night. Up until we jumped off sides on your 4th and 5 and giving the dogs another chance which was all they needed, we had the game in check. But that was this last year, maybe we change that mistake and move forward. I have to admit there was no noise coming from NED the whole second half until yall had the long run with the penalty added to it . By for the best play yall had all night which accounted for about 30% of your whole offense. It was a defensive struggle on both teams. Your first drive was impressive, but after the second score it went down hill. I just see it different this year, glad you got a uniform upgrade, but I don't think it will help this year.

I remember this group as freshmen... shhhhh! Let everyone believe it's gonna be a down year. That's the popular opinion on the board. The cupboard ain't bare, I promise.
I can't wait to see Cowboy back under Center, this kid man. If Jaron Johnson was still here we would be watching that group who never let any team within 20 points of them.

I want the max on Ned +14 and the max on Ned +20, please. This ain't 7 on 7!
Mayfield PNG will beat you guys by 14 or more , your defense front is gone

Hmmm.. LU could use a speedy back. Hope they were paying attention!

That's funny...

1-3 looks right.
4-5 could flip flop.
Lumberton will be 5 or 6..
Lee will be last. -
Seems fair.

I haven't heard. I hope if we go with Seay at QB that he will still play safety as well. I think the offense would be very dynamic with him calling the signals, but he's so important on defense.
-
The Bulldogs don't play 7 on 7. They go 7-0 in district each year instead. 😜 Just kidding. I wish the Dogs did do 7 on 7. I think it is a great chance for the QB to get in sync with his WRs.

Thanks! Time and location?
