  1. Neither team has been a state powerhouse in the last 10 years so all of this talk is mindless drivel in my opinion. It's like saying, "I used to have a lot of money in my 401K...." but you know how that goes these days!

  3. PN-G in my opinion is a better team than Ozen. If Ozen would throw more to the big WR's then they might be more formidable.
  4. Wow. bitter much? I agree, really bitter. Something must have happened in order for you to be full of so much hate! Hmmmmmmm....... ??? ??? ??? What happened? Well, I think ALL Nederland fans know what happened in the fall of 1984. Nederland snapped the 19 year drought against PN-G. I guess this 1985 graduate suffered so much trauma watching the Bulldogs beat the Indians for the FIRST TIME IN HIS LIFE his senior year, he turned Benedict Arnold and switched sides. IMO.... Nederland and PN-G are like comparing UT and A&M. A&M might beat UT evey now and then, like the last couple of years, but what do they do in the big games..... At least PN-G has played in the State championship in the last 20 years and doesn't have to go back over a half century to say they won a state championship. In summary... Nederland is a wanna be PN-G. But in the end.... When all is said and done... It is one big family. If Nederland is the last team playing in the playoffs, there will be plenty of PN-G fans in the stands rooting for the Bulldogs, just as there was when PN-G was playing the state game in the dome not too long ago. I don't know of anyone in Nederland that is a "PNG-wannabee". Pn-g does, however, have the best fight song in the area and a cool new field. Other than that, not much to speak of.
  5. It's a good thing he took over on the set. The "interviewer" did not seem very prepared at all. There might have been complete silence if Neumann would not have taken charge!
  6. What mistakes are you talking about other than the muffed punt early? Other than the muffed punt and a turnover on downs before halftime for PN-G, did either team have a turnover? The offenses definitely had the upper hand in this game and off the top of my head I think both offenses were turnover free. I enjoyed watching the game again on here last night. Nederland had PN-G off balance all night long by throwing to all of the WR's, using Grogan for 5 yards at a time, and having Kirby tuck and run occasionally. PN-G has a good looking passing game and still runs the ball well, but they waited to long to open up the passing game in my opinion. Regardless, if Nederland can click on offense the way they did Saturday night, then they will have a very successful season.
  7. 1. The fair catch was bobbled which makes it open game. It was bobbled or bothched right there all night, but our coaches insisted on leaving 33 in there to field it.........Our fault. 2. I know the play your talking about and that was a very crappy call. Gaspard was already in full tackle mode before the Ned guy even hit the ground....real bad call. 3. The tackle on Wright on that play went all the way to the benches.....Unbelievable. 4. The calls were not botched....just the penalization. If the call on Gaspard was in fact a late hit, then I agree it was a bad call. If the call was spearing then I think it was a good call. The fair catch bobble does nullify a fair catch from my understanding and the guy was blocked into the receiver on that play. I don't think Wright's run was 35 yards, but I may be wrong.. I have no clue what happened on the penlization call, but I do know the holding call was a good one. I am not sure about the personal foul. I have no clue how it ended up 3rd down though. 1st or 2nd is what I thought it should be. I did not see what happened on the sideline with Wright to comment.
  8. And he carried the ball 26 (or was it 29) times for 223 yards just 4 days before against Ozen. That might have a little to do with it!
  9. I think PN-G wins this game by 21. Wright and Harmon will run all over a weak Livingston D and Tatum will hit DeRon with some nice passes.
  10. Yes. He had a long run at the beginning of the game and got up flexing his muscles to the Nederland sideline. He did not do much after that.
  11. Game really was not as close as the score in my opinion. I do think both of these teams will make the playoffs. Great to see the Nederland defense starting to play physical again. A hard hitting D and Grogan's running is really making the spread a lot better.
  12. He has a history for writing articles that make you scratch your head. Don't feel bad, I remember in the past when Ned has played teams like Jacksonville, Bay City, etc... The articles that he wrote were similar to this one.
  13. I will be wearing red at the game. Have lots of friends in BC including my secretary.

  15. I fail to see why you PN-G guys think that you are going to BLOW NEDERLAND OUT. Your defense gave up 410 yards to a 1-2 Crosby team that is very average this season. 178 rushing and 232 passing. Crosby has thrown for less than 100 yards in both of its other two games which leads me to believe that the Bulldogs will have plenty of success throwing the football. You squeaked out a 1-point win on a blocked kick and it looks like Crosby won every statistical category except the final score. In the game before that you beat an 0-3 Barbers Hill team by only 5 points although it looked statistically as though the game may not have been as close as the final score. The win over LC-M was total domination, but I think that everyone agrees that LC-M is pretty weak. I do think PN-G is a good football team with a very physical style of play. I also think that Nederland will have trouble stopping Wright and Harmon and I feel that Tatum is a good QB. But, I hope the players are taking Nederland as lightly as some of the fans are because they will be surprised if so. Should be a great ballgame, but to those predicting a PN-G blowout I think you might be disappointed. Nederland looked much better last week than they did against a solid WO-S team week 1. If they can get the running game going again and PN-G has to play man on man against our WR's, then I like our chances. Regardless, I think this will be a close game no matter who ends up winning it.
  16. The 1st 2nd and 3rd place teams are glad too! Trading Dayton for Livingston was the best deal for all these teams since the Herschel Walker trade!
  17. 12. Ozen needs to work on onside kicks! Neither one of their onside kicks ever bounced!
  18. In no particular order... 1. Livingston probably won't enjoy 20-4a 2. LC-M is in total disarray STILL 3. PN-G is taking care of business even without home games 4. Josh Wright is a very good and consistent back 5. Vidor/Central is becoming a rivalry 6. Asa Cardenas catches EVERYTHING he gets his hands on 7. Ozen should throw to their big WR's more 8. Grogan gives Nederland a whole new threat on offense 9. Lumberton is still pretty salty even without all those seniors 10. There might be hope for the much maligned Nederland run defense
  19. I think this game is going to be high scoring. I don't think PN-G will be able to cover the Nederland WR's. I also think Wright and Harmon will be very difficult for Nederland to stop. Tatum throws well if his WR's will catch it they should get good yards thru the air as well. The key to the game will be can Grogan run with as much heart as he did last night? He was an absolute beast running over, around, and through Ozen!
  20. Only one play last night if I remember correctly... and that was an incomplete pass. I think what he may have been talking about is that we actually had a RUNNING GAME and made the spread where it wasn't pass, pass, pass, punt. The running game adds a whole dimension to our spread and it was fun to watch last night. I do, however, wish we would not line up in the spread inside the 10 yard line!
  21. Ned had over 400 yards of offense vs. Ozen. Grogan had 223 rushing, Bellow had 175 passing and the Dogs held Ozen to 62 yards on the ground on 26 carries.. Should be a great MCM game Saturday. Both Nederland and PN-G seemed sharp tonight.
