  1. Bellow was 11/21 for 175 and Nederland's much maligned run defense allowed only 62 yards on 26 Ozen carries. Nederland had over 400 yards of offense.
  2. 28 carries for 223 yards and 3 TD's. He was a BEAST.
  3. I would guess around 200 for the game...
  4. Sounded like he did have a good game. With Grogan for Ned and Harmon and Wright for PNG, it should be a hecka of a game Harmon and Wright are a great 1-2 punch. Is Harmon the kid that came over in the off-season from BC or do I have my names confused?
  5. If you used a computer for that prediction, then you better re-boot.
  6. The Train by 7 is my prediction. I will say this though, whichever team has more success throwing the ball should win since that is both teams weakness.
  7. Nederland 24 PN-G 20 Should be a good one. Grogan looked good carrying the ball tonight. He's a load. It puts a whole different dimension into the spread with a RB that can tote the ball and 4 good WR's. The defense did a good job against Ozen. Looking forward to MCM. Always a fun game!
  8. I am picking Central by a TD. I feel like Vidor is overrated and too one-dimensional(20 passing yards total in 2 games?!) to beat a team as good as Central. Central has played a much tougher schedule and is battle tested. This is a big step up in competition for the Pirates after playing two winless Catholic schools. I do, however, think this game will be close since Central did not have ample practice and prep time added to the fact that Vidor is always fired up to play at home. Central in my opinion will be district champs, but could be ripe to be upset tonight given the circumstances. With that being said, I still predict Central to escape with a hard fought road win! Central 21 Vidor 14
  9. You might be correct in your prediction. We'll have to see. But, it looks like hype to me from looking at the stats. Nederland is getting lambasted for giving up over 300 yards rushing to a good WO-S team and over 400 total yards that game, but Ozen gave up over 300 yards rushing and over 400 total yards to a very good WB team as well. The next week Bmt Central gave up a little over 250 to that same WB team. Then, the next week Ozen gave up 341 yards to a Memorial team not known for offense this year. Nederland's defense played okay against WO-S for 1 half. The score was 12-7. WO-S scored 33 in the game vs. Nederland and 49 the next week against LC-M so maybe, just maybe Hooks has a pretty good offense over there? The problem was after the half Ned could not tackle Garrett at all. WO-S earned that game and wore our defense down because we went 3-and-out several times. Ozen has scored 7 points and 19 points in their two games so far so I do not see them running up and down the field all of a sudden. They average 13 points a game and I think they'll score 20-30 in this one, but I think the game will be close. Ozen only averages about 25 yards a punt so if the Ned defense can rise to the occasion their can be some field position battles won there. Ozen has also had a lot of penalties this season that could prove costly. All I am saying is that these are two WINLESS teams and I don't see room for EITHER to be bragging about ANYTHING so far or predicting to blow the other one out. P.S. I hate our spread offense and wish we would go back to the old I-formation or Pro style. I am not sure how many consecutive losses it will take for us to dump the spread, but if it is 4 then I hope we go ahead and get it out of the way tonight!
  10. If the snap and hold are good he can kick it further than that!
  11. What time does this game start on Tuesday? Thanks in advance.
  12. If they are the same as last year with one dimension and no defense, does that mean lasts year's Nederland 31 Ozen 14 score should stay the same? Seems as logical as any of the other predictions... ;D I would love to know why our stock has fallen so much though after losing to one of the top teams in the area. Yes, that WO-S RB shreaded our defense, but I think that kid is pretty darn good.
  13. I've seen both teams in person and will be pulling for Silsbee, but... I think both teams will have trouble stopping each other and we'll see a high scoring game. The QB's will both have big games. Jasper is a little better on defense in my opinion and don't put the ball on the ground as much. I see the Dawgs winner a high scoring game by between 10-14 points. I am going to this game and expecting big things from both QBs.
  14. Asa will be covered up. I am going with the cats on this one! If Ozen uses single coverage on Asa, he will have a big game. If they choose to double cover him, then that will free up Ryan Brady who had big games against both Beaumont teams last season. Don't forget about Salenga in the slot either. The problem for Nederland is not the passing game. They will get plenty through the air. The question mark will be the run game and the run defense. Should be an exciting ballgame.
  15. My favorite part of going to both LCM and Lumberton are the biased announcers. I think the announcers should be enthusiastic like they are and intensify the homefield advantage. I would love it if Nederland had either of these two announcers!
  16. Longview was VERY impressive and should do some MAJOR damage in 4A. They trailed 20-7 early in the 4th and game back to take a 23-20 lead late in the game. Lufkin kicked a FG with 5 seconds left in regulation to send it to OT 23-23. Longview scored 30-23, Lufkin answered 30-30 at end of 1st OT. Lufkin scored 37-30, Longview answered 37-37 at end of 2OT. Longview scored and got 2pt conversion 45-37 and then stopped a pooped Lufkin team for the win. Longview has some very impressive athletes. Both of these teams are much better than what I am accustomed to watching in SETX(with the exception of West Brook).
  17. Da Jags by 10. Jags are a tougher team that the Catholic private schools the Pirates have been playing against.
  18. Ned by 7.. I don't think Ned's run defense is really as bad as Garrett from WO-S made it look.
  19. I am still evacuated in Longview and today I was given four 50-yard line seats to Longview(#6 in 4A) vs. Lufkin(#9 in 5A). I am pumped! With all the stress lately I am definitely ready fo some football! Any predictions on this one?
  20. I'm pretty sure everything is cancelled in SETX.
  21. Would it have been as embarrassing as it was for Waller last year losing to Nederland(a non-playoff team) last season?
  22. I heard Vidor was also playing St. Annes??? Any truth to that?? St. Annes is supposed to be pretty strong this year for a 6th grade team. And the way Vidor handled Kelly and St. Thomas, they should not have a problem with St. Annes. The only problem they might have is if they keep shootin' the finger at the opposing team's fans, but it's never stopped them before. Wow a Vidor hater something new! The good thing is now Nederland has to face Kelly. Now we will see how strong they are. I predict Kelly takes this by 3. If this game is played, Ned by 14. I am not saying Vidor has not improved but to predict Kelly to beat us just cause they played y'all tight is a little ridiculous in my opinion. And before you say how y'all tied WO-S in a scrimmage, bear in mind that Kelly had about 20 yards of offense in the Nederland/Kelly scrimmage.
