Would it have been as embarrassing as it was for Waller last year losing to Nederland(a non-playoff team) last season?

I heard Vidor was also playing St. Annes??? Any truth to that?? St. Annes is supposed to be pretty strong this year for a 6th grade team. And the way Vidor handled Kelly and St. Thomas, they should not have a problem with St. Annes. The only problem they might have is if they keep shootin' the finger at the opposing team's fans, but it's never stopped them before. Wow a Vidor hater something new! The good thing is now Nederland has to face Kelly. Now we will see how strong they are. I predict Kelly takes this by 3. If this game is played, Ned by 14. I am not saying Vidor has not improved but to predict Kelly to beat us just cause they played y'all tight is a little ridiculous in my opinion. And before you say how y'all tied WO-S in a scrimmage, bear in mind that Kelly had about 20 yards of offense in the Nederland/Kelly scrimmage.

For what it's worth, Nederland did beat last years version of Waller which in my opinion is a better team than this year's version of Waller. This was in Kirby Bellows second start. Now he has more than 10 starts under his belt. I think it will be a good game if it gets played. These teams have had all very close games in the brief series between the teams.

Yep, he is kicking for the Tigers and doing a great job. He made his first tackle last week against the team from Houston.

Rut Roh... What happened to Nabors?

She was 27-1 or something like that last season in singles. She lost in Regionals vs. Fresno St. for her only singles loss of the season. She is only a soph and is going to have a great career. She's less than 5'feet tall and a great competitor. You should try to catch one of her matches if you get a chance. Her sister, Marianntonietta is also on the team and is a senior.

Wow! I sure hope you are right. That would be great news. However, I am concerned. If we don't improve our rushing attack and learn to tackle then we are probably in for a repeat of last season. I am cautiously optimistic though that this team will improve quite a bit throughout the course of the season.

Here's my thoughts on the game. I thought the final score was pretty indicative of the game. WO-S was 20 points better than Nederland tonight. WO-S has an excellent combo with Hypolite and Garrett and I thought they made great adjustments at halftime to exploit the Nederland D. Nederland was fortunate to only be down 5 at the break. I thought coming in that Nederland's 2ndary was a major weakness, but they did play well tonight. Nederland cannot tackle once again this season. Asa Cardenas is an absolute stud. Nick Cardenas, Jordan Landry, and Jimmy Swain had solid games for Nederland D. WO-S has lots of speed as usual. The Nederland O-Line did a very good job of protecting Bellow and giving him time to throw. The dropped pass by #5 for Nederland totally took the wind out of the sails and squashed any comeback hopes. He was wide open. He did redeem himself with a nice TD catch later in the game though. The holding penalty on the long run by Grogan was another back breaker. It was a good call by the ref though. It will be interesting to see how the makeup of the offense changes with Krautz and Brady in the lineup, but WO-S was clearly better than us as was Jasper in the scrimmage. I am not a big fan of the spread and wish Nederland would run a pro-style offense. Nederland better learn to tackle or the streak might be 2 years in a row. Good luck to WO-S the rest of the way.

That's a big blow if Brady is out, he's an athlete. That makes it a 14 point game. WHAT # WAS THIS KID WEARING IN THE JASPER SCRIMMAGE? Brady is #7 and is a very good player. I think he will be a big part of Nederland's offense this season. He did not have a very good night against Jasper in the scrimmage though. He did not catch a pass and got beaten on a TD pass. Whoever covered him for Jasper did a good job.

I just passed by the stadium and although I did not get out of the car, the field did not look damaged. There looked like a spot in the end zone, but the rest looked fine. I think it will be in tip top shape by Friday. They did tear it up at the scrimmage though, I was there.

Regardless of the field condition, I hope WOS fans dodn't make excuses. As long as both teams play on the same field then it's fair. We had a few fans make excuses last year about the LCM game. I hope that doesn't happen this year. If you win by 1 or 100 you still only get 1 win. Couldn't have said this better myself. Good post, td. I agree td. I think this will be a good game. I think both teams have question marks on the O-Line. I think whichever O-Line does a better job will win the game. I have concerns with our 2ndary as well. I agree that the field will not be an issue either. If Nederland can establish a solid running game to complement what should be an excellent passing game then they can be dangerous. If we are one dimensional like last season, then we will again struggle. Just my 2 cents. Hoping for a good and injury free game.

We Jake and people like him say the district is 'down' this year, that means Ozen or Central will win it lol....... BTW, WO-S by 21.... Actually, I do think either Central or Ozen will win the district. My money right now is on Central. But, I think the top 4 will be Central, Nederland, Port Neches, and Ozen. I will, however, take Nederland if you are giving me 21 points. ;D

I think Nederland will miss Chris Gutierrez the most. No, he wasn't recruited, no he's not a D1 player, but he, Reagan Stanley, and Adam Broussard were 3 seniors that had a lot of heart.

The Beaumont schools are both underestimated this year. Both will make the playoffs along with both Mid-County teams. Same song, 40th verse for Vidor.

The ONLY reason you said that is because they beat a VERY over rated Nederland team. They would not win district Whatever you say, man. I am telling you that Jasper is a solid squad. Jasper handled both Mid-County teams back-to-back and was clearly better than both. Great win last week vs. Bridge City by the way. That ought to get y'all ready for Dayton. :
