  1. Is Waller's size wearing the smaller Dayton defense down? Why such a turnaround in the 2nd half? Anyone? GO BRONCOS!!!!
  2. I'd say those look pretty good.. I agree for the most part... 1. Dayton 2. Nederland 3. PN-G 4. Lumberton 5. Central 6. Ozen 7. Vidor 8. LC-M
  3. I agree with you Proud. It is a 15 yard penalty and a first down though. I agree that it should be spot of the foul. I have seen our DB's get burnt on a few occasions and just tackle the WR to keep from giving up a TD. I guess that is smart, but it should be penalized worse in my opinion.
  4. I agree that Tatum did a great job of leading this team, but you gotta give the offensive MVP to Hemmings. He was a bull this season. I said from the very beginning that Doty was the best WR on this team if they would just throw him the ball. He is a great kid too. No argument at all on defense. Zeke was a beast this season.
  5. Waller's main threat when we played them was the QB, Jeremy Phillips, who is also the coach's son. He is a big option QB has above average speed and pretty tough to bring down. He runs the option really well. They had a couple of good backs as well. They have a hard hitting defense that played zone and confused our passing game, but that was Kirby's first start against good competition. He had only played against Forest Brook prior to that. Their main problem against us was fumbles. They put the ball on the ground like 7 times if I remember right. That is the only reason we were in the game, we took two to the house for scores. Our only drive of the night was a game winning drive with under 2 minutes left. Asa caught around a 40-yard TD pass for the win.
  6. Would love to be there, but I am getting married next weekend. Y'all gotta win again so I can see a Dayton/Lumberton rematch.
  7. I think Lumberton will win a close one. Important thing though, do not discount Waller just because they lost to Nederland. I am a Nederland fan and Waller should have beaten us. We scored on an 85 yard fumble recovery and also on a a 45 yard fumble recovery and that was back when our D played with at least a little intensity. We only had one good drive and that was with about 2:00 left. Waller team has good size, a smooth option QB, a few good RB's, and a big O-Line. They just upset a very good Yates team. Do not take them lightly. I think Lumberton wins, but it will be a battle just like last night. Waller would have been right in the thick of our district race in my opinion.
  8. Great game! Great crowd! Great win! Here's what I came away with from this game. 1. Hussey is the best running back in 22-4a, hands down. He runs with heart and had a great ballgame. 2. Although Hanna and Beard get most of the publicity on defense, #95 Ward is a heckuva player too. 3. DeJohn makes the throws when he needs to. 4. The L-Town defense will HIT YOU! 5. The Raider O-Line opens some nice holes. 6. Little Creduer is a "sparkplug" on offense. 7. Lumberton is a very deep team. They are constantly rotating guys in and out on both sides. 8. Lumberton vs. Dayton rematch has a good chance of happening. 9. The Raider 2ndary is underrated. 10. The train horn is pretty cool!
  9. Junior or Senior?
  10. Is y'alls game Friday or Saturday, kicker? And, what time?
  11. I'll be on the train tomorrow! A couple of my relatives from Lumberton talked me in to going tomorrow. Hope it is a great game!
  12. My votes go to Tramain Thomas for offense and Anthony Beard for defense. To answer the question about #2 for Nederland, that is Wareall Grogan and I agree that he outshined DJ all season long. He's only a junior and may be in the running for this award next season as will Asa Cardenas.
  13. I think Dayton should win this week. PN-G and Lumberton will have to play their best games of the season to win this week in my opinion. I will be pulling for all 3 local teams though.
  14. I am surprised that so many people are picking Lumberton here. I gotta go with LaMarque in this one. I think they will limit the Raider ground game and force them to pass. I will be pulling for the L-Train, but my pick is LaMarque by 14.
  15. Does LC still have Sule Osegede on defense? I believe he was a LB. This kid was in on every damn play last year when we played them! Mosley had a very good game against LC, but was clearly outshined by Jacquizz and Mosley was not outshined often last year!
  16. Rodgers plays tailback. If I remember correctly the QB was a very small soph last season, but also ran the ball pretty good. They did not throw a whole lot, but had a solid defense.
  17. I was talking to a few buddies of mine while at the game and we agreed what a great athlete McGaffie was. I would love to see him run behind a great line and have some weapons to complement him. He would be a blast to watch. With that being said, I do not think that McGaffie is near as good as Rodgers and Rodgers has a great O-Line and plenty of other help. If you did not see him against Ned last year then you are in for a treat. He starts, and stops, jukes, and jives and always seems like he is going full speed. I have only seen him play one time, but I left extremely impressed.
  18. Lamar Consolidated by 14. I saw how much trouble PN-G had with the small, shifty LaMarque tailback. Now, granted that was the first game of the season, but Jaquizz Rodgers is SPECIAL. He impressed the hell out of me last season when we played them and I can only assume he has gotten better.
  19. Congrats PN-G on the win. GP is a one man show. Their offense is a mess. The game was not as close as the score. PN-G started slowly, but dominated in the 2nd half.
  20. CHOO CHOO!! Good luck Raiders!
  21. Wasn't he like a 7th round draft pick out of Bridge City HS a few years back? How has he done at San Jac?
  22. Spoke with Jorge today and he said that Grant played really well this weekend. He said he played some good players this weekend. Boy's singles will be pretty deep this year, you are right about that. I think Deaver is quite a bit ahead of everyone locally in HS right now though and he is only a junior.
  23. That's great to hear! I have been playing quite a bit with him for the last month and he is hitting the ball well. Straight sets in all his matches. That is very impressive. Does this put him in super 18's? Matthew is a great kid and comes from a good family.
  24. Wow! What a scoring fest. I wonder if Micah is in on all of this scoring today? Can't wait to see the final stats from this game..
