Agree with you that Valastro is doing a great job at EC. Only reason I went with the Hardin coach is that the expectations were there this season for EC after last season's run. Hardin has been a real surprise. Both Haynes and Valastro are very deserving though.

5A- Stump at WB 4A- Creuder's Raiders 3A- Mangan at HF 2A- Haynes at Hardin 1A- Help me out here. Privates- Kelly's coach

They play in a pretty tough district. You have to bring it every week to win in this district. It does not sound like they are doing the little things well and are not winning the close ball games.
-
What would you most like to see this week? Me, personally. I would like to see my Bulldogs rebound from last week's disappointing loss to PN-G and rush for 200, pass for 200, and win by a couple TD's against Ozen.
-
Actually, win this game Lumberton and prove that you are the best team in this district until WEEK 10.

Actually I think that the "spoil" factor is much more than just Mosley. Nederland's bread and butter has always been a good running game mixed with a pass game. We have had some great backs recently in Mosley, Ramoin, LaBove, Sumrall, Driskell, etc. I am sure I may have left some good ones out. I think Neumann knew going into this year that our personel was much more suited for the spread.. i.e. Mobile QB with a good arm and 5 good WR's.

I agree. Kirby moves around the pocket okay and has done a wonderful job throwing the ball, but he is not a huge threat running the ball. The offense was desgined to take advantage of Sampere's running and throwing ability and to utilize our stable of talented WR's. I think you make a good point about the lack of a running QB in the backfield affecting the overall run game. I am not sure what the answer is to get our running game going. But, I have a feeling we are not going to be a "spread only" team the rest of the season. I think we are going to line up in the "I" more in the coming weeks, but our main offense will continue to be with at least 4 wides. With that being said, I would still like to see a little of Paul Roy whether it be in the spread or the "I". Just to see what he can do on the ground. P.S.-- On the topic of Bellow, I think he has done an OUTSTANDING job for us. I cannot wait to watch him mature as a QB over the next 2½ yrs. He is really going to be something to watch! Great job by a great young man!

I would like to see a little more of Paul Roy. I think Bass is the right back for this offense due to his pass catching ability, but he gets arm tackled a lot because of his size disadvantage. I like Guti on defense and special assignments on offense. My guess is that the reason that Roy does not play more must have something to do with blocking and pass catching because he looks is definitely a big and fast runner and only a soph. I am sure the coaches know what they are doing. I do think that we need to find a way to get Paul on the field whether it be at RB, WR, CB, S, or even Bandit.

Nederland would have to step up to play in 5A.. That is a fact. But, I think we end up playing 1-2 teams each year that are every bit as good as most of those teams. The LaMarques, the Brenhams, the Lamar Consolidateds, the Texas Citys, etc. have the athletes and coaching that it takes to compete in 5A. I think that Ned would beat PAM this season, but on a year to year basis it would be a much tougher chore. I think West Brook would smoke EVERY team in our 4A district. I also think that WO-S would be toward the top of our district so classification does not have all that much to do with it.

Jake Hemmings needs 'nice' big game against Nederland

Actually, DJ had a pretty good game. He had an INT that he ran back for 37 yards and also had 12 tackles. -
This season, yes... If they played every year, then I think P.A.M. would win more than they would lose.

PN-G's Jacob Broussard PA New Player Of The Week

Yup. The Atlanta Falcons could use this guy. Their players could not even catch with BOTH hands last night! Asa is only a junior as well. He is going to be exciting to watch. -
Serious question for you Lumberton guys....

Good post, raidernation. I do not think your prediction of 200-250 yards is unrealistic at all. I do think that PN-G will have to throw the ball some to win this game. They are perfectly capable of passing. Good QB in Tatum and three good WR's in Johnson, Doty, and Barnett. I wish I could make it to this game. It should be a great and intense game. -

I have not heard much about the corners. Who are they and how good are they? Have y'all played against a good passing team? -
PN-G's Jacob Broussard PA New Player Of The Week
jake94 replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I could not agree more. This kid had a great game and was the difference in the game in my opinion. 9 tackles, an INT, and 2 fumble recoveries.. Not too shabby. If Nederland would have won, I think Cardenas would have gotten player of the week.. 12 catches, 167 yards, and 2 TD's are impressive numbers. -
First off, I would like to give y'all props on an undefeated season thus far. Y'all seem to have a solid running game and a very stingy defense this season. My question for you guys is this.. Last season in the final game, Micah Mosley ran for 450 yards on your defense. What do you attribute the huge turnaround you guys have made on the defensive side of the ball this season to? Are y'all running a new scheme? Do you have a new coordinator? Or is it just an extra year of experience now for the youngsters that were playing last season? What is it in your opinion?
-
From all the reports I have heard, this will be the best PASS defense we have faced this season. They are supposed to have really good corners. I hope we will be able to move the ball thru the air because our run game has not been all that good. I think this is going to be a good ballgame. I hope we can come away with the victory.

Yes. A group of them do it every year. It has worked the last 3 years, it did not work this year. -

That is what was called when Zeke ran the ball back on the confusion play with the false start, INT return for TD play. It was a false start, then a play that didn't count, then delay of game on the defense. Refs were lost. -

Ask #85 about delay of game on the defense . I made a mistake and corrected it.. -

Well, not a false start I guess. Offides, I guess... Depends if the kicking team is considered offense or defense I guess. LOL -

The reason why PN-G got it on the 35 and we got it on the 30 was because it was a false start on us on the kick. The ball then went out of bounds which brings it to the 30, plus 5 yards for the penalty which puts the ball at the 35. -
Who are the top defensive players in district 22-4A ?
jake94 replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Shexnider, Tezeno, Broussard, and Burnett for PN-G. Johnson, Stewart, Grogan, and Gutierrez for Nederland. I did not have a program for the Central game. I did not have a program for the Vidor game. I have not seen the other teams. -
I must have read a different one that he wrote. He had a stupid one about Mid COunty Madness and country music too.
-
I think he went to a country music concert Friday night instead of the game. At least that is what I got from his article. Did I misread what the article was about?
