  1. Rivalry game. Emotions run high, especially for HS teams. I did not see the celebration, but who cares. It is a bunch of kids. They were excited after winning the game and have every right to celebrate. There was a LOT of trash talking going on in this years game by BOTH teams.
  2. Accept the loss and move on. It is just one game and it's in the past now. We were outplayed Friday night. Both teams still have a lot of work to do to make the playoffs. Isn't that the goal for all the teams in the district?
  3. Thank you short! I was gonna say the same thing! Last I checked a 97-yards trick play TD counts for exactly as many points as a sustained 10-minute 5-10 yards at a time TD drive.
  4. Please show me the post where I said any of these things and I will stand corrected. I did pick Ned over PN-G in a close ballgame, my predicition was by 7-10 points. If you show me the rest of those things that I "said", then I will stand corrected.
  5. Sounds like fun, raider88. Just a friendly bet. By the way, I think the Raiders are for real. PN-G is pretty salty as well. I just feel like Lumberton still has a few tough games left and I do not think that PN-G will run the table, even though they are a very solid team. Those are the only 2 teams that could be undefeated district champs. It is just a very tough thing to do. What are we betting? ;D
  6. Mav, I challenge you to look back at all my posts and see where I said that we should be in the top 10. You will not find it. Some of our fans said this, but not me. I never predicted us to be undefeated district champs either. If you look back, I picked us 3rd in district at the beginning of the year and that was WITH Sampere. No team has a playoff spot yet, so I think it is wise that you don't count your chickens so fast. The loser of this first place battle next week will more than likely have the same record as Nederland and Dayton after all is said and done next week. I thought we would beat PN-G last night and I was wrong. They beat us fair and square and I gave them props. With that being said, PN-G and Lumberton are not in the playoffs YET. It is going to be an interesting race from here on out. I predict that there is not an UNDEFEATED district champion. Care to take me up on that?
  7. I can't say that I totally agree with your post. The better team won LAST night. I do not, however, remember us making as many turnovers and special team blunders as last night. I see the game a lot different than most I guess. I thought Wright was what killed us, getting around the corner several times, not Hemmings. I thought we did a good job on Hemmings other than the 35 yarder up the gut for TD. Also, the PN-G is good, but the passing game was still effective. We threw for 267 yards. Kirby was 13-17 at the half. He was 10-30 in the 2nd half and that was after he was limping noticably. #41 had a great game at corner for them. They should have put him on Asa. That would have been a good matchup. The difference in the game is that PN-G really took it to us on both lines. I knew the fact that we don't run the ball well would eventually catch up to us. Hats off to PN-G, they deserved the win last night and this is shaping up to be a great district race.
  8. Big plays don't count? I am sure Hussey had some big runs last night in route to his 250 yards. Should we take those away too?
  9. We lose and all of a sudden we are overrated. What a joke. PN-G is a good football team and they beat us last night. I guess when you lose that you will be overrated too? So, in essence, every team in the state this season will be overrated unless they are undefeated state champs. Should be easy to see who the elite teams are with this theory. No disrespect, but you contradict yourself in the next sentence saying that beating Central and Dayton are great wins, both teams that have lost 3 games. Lumberton is a good football team, so are Dayton and Central, but to say we are overrated because we lost to PN-G is a joke. The Indians are very physical and y'all better be ready.
  10. I'm a believer. Should be a great game next week.
  11. Ozen has a good 2ndary. We are a little banged up too. Bellow was limping around the whole 2nd half and Brady was knocked out of the game. I think this is gonna be a closer game than people think.
  12. He interecepted a ball and ran it back 40 yards on y'alls first drive. He converted a 4th down in y'alls territory on 4th and 1. He had an okay game, not great by any means. Wright beat him to the corner a few times. He laid a few nice hits on Hemmings. Overall, an average game.
  13. Congrats Raiders! This Nederland fan believes y'all are for real. Should be an electric atmosphere next week at PNG.
  14. Burnett made good adjustments at halftime too.
  15. I will take your word for it. I heard you on the radio tonight and you were very classy. I did not see that play all that well, but it looked like it could have gone either way. I am by no means blaming the refs for this game at all. PN-G was the better team this evening. I feel like the refs had a lousy game, but did not favor either team.
  16. These two teams are very similar. Should be a really good battle. I will take the team with the least amount of turnovers.
  17. The personal foul on Broussard was a good one, but Brady should have gotten one on the next play. Broussard stood up and flexed his muscles in his face after he hit Brady. Brady deserved a penalty on the next play for getting in Broussard's face, so you have a point there. The officials as a whole were bad both ways. The delay call on y'all was BS. The long Wright run with a fumble that we ended up with the ball on was confusing. We had a backwards pass that 85 broke up and if he would have picked the ball up the ref would have let it go. He hesitated a few seconds and when 85 didn't go after the ball he called it dead. There was at least a 2 second delay. The ball that Broussard intercepted was a close call as well. Both guys caught that ball and fell to the ground. I thought the officials were shaky both ways. PN-G earned the victory. Good luck the rest of the season.
  18. PN-G played a great game and beat us fair and square. I think the difference in the games was that PN-G was more physical on both lines. I was particularly impressed with #9 and #41. I thought they were the MVP's. Asa Cardenas had a great game for Nederland, but it wasn't enough. Good luck the rest of the season.
  19. they score more points than the Bulldogs do tonight.
  20. Ryan's grandpa told me there was a chance that he may end up at Sam Houston State next season. He has been punting only, but he is such a great athlete. I would love to see him get a chance somewhere as a slot receiver. Todd Dodge, are you reading?! ;D
  21. That's the beauty of this rivalry if you think about it. Nederland came into MCM at 0-2 last season. Everyone had written them off for dead after losing to Vidor and getting SMASHED by Central and lo and behold.. We beat the Indians and turned the season around. This year is different. Both teams are atop the district standings and are very confident. I don't think either team will need to get fired up to give 110% tonight. Most of these guys have been raring to go since last Friday night! I am expecting a great game. I'll be here to say congrats to the Indians if they win and I will be a gracious winner if we win. I can't speak for everyone else though. ;D
  22. Since L-Town has been declared state champs by many of their fans, then wouldn't losing to Central be an upset?
  23. Nederland and Kelly are probably the best in the area.
  24. I had lunch with Wong the other day and he was really speaking highly of Salina. He thinks she will play #6 this season and will be a good player for many years to come.
  25. I think LC-M did.. might have been PN-G though.
