Hey YD! LCM 3 and out! Ned ball.. 10 yard run by Lovelady. 1st and 10 Ned at own 38.
-
TD Dogs! Dogs have used 3 QBs already. Scored on 20 yard run from Wildcat offense. Trevin Sonnier.
-
Neumann will not just wait for next year he will keep trying to put a team together. Look for the 4th QB at some point in the game.
And who might that be?
-
gona e a good game but if dogs dont pull it out they will be an 0-8 in district
Thank you, Nostradomus.

Some facts about Nederland's offense:
Power I - 11 straight playoff appearances when only 2, then 3 teams made it from every district.
Spread - In their 3rd year in this offense the Dogs have 1 playoff appearance. They now take 4 teams!
I guess going to the playoffs every year wasn't good enough, so we changed the offense and now go every 3 years.
I could not agree more!

Defense, my friend, is gonna win this game. So, give some suggestions to help Ned. on defense.
Drastic times cause for drastic measures... A few things that have crossed my mind for Mid COunty Madness...
1. Split time at RB every other series with Nick Cardenas and Grant Lovelady when we are in the spread. Let both also start on defense. Alternate series at RB to keep them somewhat fresh.
2. Use Ryan Brady, our fastest player and run the Wildcat offense on occasion. Use a mix of Salenga, Lovelady or Cardenas in the backfield with him.
3. Use Brady and Salenga(our two fastest players) in certain defensive situations to limit giving up the long runs and passes.
4. Use more I-formation and try our hand at running the ball and the clock more in this game.
5. Let Trahan kick away all night! He has been our best and most consistent weapon.
I am by no means a coach and never claimed to be. But, these are a few things that I was thinking of that might increase our chances in this game. Thoughts?
#1, my friend, addresses defense. Putting our best 2 defenders back at LB and splitting their time on offense to keep them fresh if possible. #3 also touches on defense.

I keep reading how banged up the bulldogs are... Who are the players that arent able to play? I am pulling for Ned but tired of reading the post that say we are so hurt and cant win with what we have. WHOSE MISSING.. I am voting dogs........ by a slim margin. I have only heard of just a couple of players.
Bellow, Smith,Forney who were the top 3 QBs on the depth chart at beginning of season. Forney also was slated as a WR/TE/DE. Hammond got hurt last week. Brett Brown a starting LB missed last week and is questionable. Delord who was a starting LB is also out. These are the ones I know of offhand, but I think there may have been 1 or 2 more go down last week. I think we will see more and more players going both ways this week. That might not actually be a bad thing.

Pumafan or whatever shut up you no nothing about Crosby, i go there im a senior, we are 2-2,2-0 in district man, and PNG has a better team, i havent heard Nederland doing good 4-0 is good but its gonna be 4-1 after PNG steam rolls the Bulldogs. Thanx akifan94 for telling him we are 2-0 and saying we have a good team, Nederland will lose
??
So we steamroll Nederland and drop to 4-1? Nederland is currently 1-3.
I think he was under the impression Ned was 4-0.
We would be if we hadn't lost to WO-S, Friendswood, and Ozen hahahah
Your in pretty good spirits Jake. Trying to take your mind off the bad things that are likely to take place this Friday to your bulldogs at The Rez? ;D
I am in good spirits because we beat y'all by 20 last time and y'all were undefeated then too. I can only enjoy that for a few more days... I will be thoroughly impressed if Neumann and the Dogs pull this one out given the circumstances.

On a lighter note. I went and watched the 7th grade game between CMS and PNMS. First the CMS coaches couldn't be a bigger group of a$$es. They berated more kids for no reason than I cared to watch. Even the ball boy was called out for the entire stadium to hear over something trivial. Totally uncalled for. Second, the CMS rb was once again the star of the game. PNMS hung in well and played good defense. I think the PN-G middle school teams will struggle for a little while learning the offense the varsity runs but in the end it will pay off. CMS ran big boy left, big boy right, and big boy up the middle.
Tell me about Big Boy. How big is he? Is he fast? What's his name, etc? What was the score between PNMS and Central? Man, I am full of questions today!

Nederland 13
PNG 10
Mistakes and penalties keep this one close.... ;)
Any way that we can sneak Micah into this game? We do have a lot of injuries! Think PN-G would notice? To make it fair we would put him at QB instead of his traditional RB position. Think they would go for it?

Livingston by 10

Indians will take it this year. we should have won last year and didn't. but don't worry. the Indians will scalp them Bulldogs!
GO INDIANS!!!!
Should have won last year?! Y'all lost by 20!
-
Pn-g comes in as heavy favorites. I would be shocked if the Dogs win this game. But, I do have one question on akifan94's post...
"8. Starting Thursday night with the JV game I think Ned fans will realize the tide has turned and the flood gates have opened for an era of PN-G @$$ whoopings of Nederland. I feel a Black Nights of the Neches (ala 1992) beating coming on.**"
I thought MidCounty Madness started with the freshman game?! Did I miss something?
-
I did not realize Nederland had won 7 of the last 9. I don't think that will help us much this year though.

Port Arthur News today confirms Tyler Smith Ned's QB, sustain a broken hand and will be out 4 weeks.
I think our best bet over the next 4 weeks is to put Brady under center with Lovelady, Cardenas, and Salenga in the backfield and run the heck out of the ball. We drove down the field with that formation against Ozen then decided to get cute and threw and INT in the endzone.
Nederland needs to find a way to get the ball in the hands of their best athletes on offense. Ball control also helps the defense. The best way to beat PN-G, is to keep Harmon and Doty on the sideline.
I like the sounds of that, Mack.. We did this a little last year in the Magnolia game with Cardenas lining up at QB. It was very effective. I have a question though that I think I already know the answer to. Isn't Dionte Forney ahead of Atterberry on the depth chart? How long will he be out? In essence, we are playing with our FOURTH QB. I think Atterberry got the start vs. Friendswood because we needed Dionte more on defense and Atterberry came in vs. Ozen because Dionte was out. Is this right or is Dionte not in the mix at QB anymore? Also, soph Corbin Carr (6'2 230)was a QB in 8th grade for an undefeated CO team. Does he factor anyomore at QB?
-
To keep from running the score up on the Indians, I heard that Neumann was going to start the 3rd team QB! ;D
-
I'll take Vidor by 10
-
PNG will be 28 points favorite at least.
Are there any hurricanes in the Gulf?

Terrible thread, Coop! ;D

Just saw the stats of the game in the Chronicle. Ned had less yards, less penalties, and less turnovers. To say Ozen didn't impress the average fan----well I guess not with all of those mistakes by the Panthers. But to say this is their first victory in Nederland, and on Homecoming, is a shot in the arm to the Panther program. All they can do now is correct and build on their success thus far.....
Ozen has plenty of potential and I would much rather be 1-0 than 0-1. They have several playmakers that I wish we had. I am not trying to discredit their win in any way. They earned it, but if anyone says that this wasn't a sloppy game on both sides then I am not sure they watched the game. Big win for the Panther program and the new coach. Good luck the rest of the way.

I had a feeling this would be a good and close game. Both of these teams are much improved.. Mid County Madness could get out of hand this year.
-
I think thier one of the equally matched districts this year, but far from the best.
I could not have said it better myself.
