Dude you did state TCU and Lamar would be playing a football game in 2011. I don't have time to or care enough to look up your post. You must have forgot I have a few sources in the athletic department myself my round little friend.  ;D ;D ;D
Never said it.......I looked it up on all threads. Now my questions is this........is "your" source the one that said he was staying??  That is what you guys were reporting yesterday? :D :D :D
No, they weren't sure it was 50/50.....You could have deleted it as there have been a lot of threads deleted on this forum.

3. Now isn't that funny. We wait a couple of days for a press conference to announce the firing of Roc and today Texas Tech is hiring BCG. They could have reassigned Roc and saved $135,000. I pretty sure Roc will land at Tech too. I also agree with you that Alvin Brooks will be given at least an interview for the Lamar job and maybe more consideration. I do know Coach Tidwell stated to someone they already have a person in mind for the job!
4. Lazeek, you can let the world know for all I care. You think I'm gonna lost sleep over what you post on a message board. Heck, you stated you knew for a month that Roc was gone yet the AD Larry Tidwell stated he didn't make up his mind until Sunday night! Is he a liar? You've been hit and miss on the things you state are going to happen with the Lamar University athletic programs. I'll give you the Jeremy Johnson deal but you were wrong about scheduling TCU. Then you stated we are headed for the WAC. A lot will have to change between now and April 1st for that to happen.
5. Lazeek, you can read, right? Did my post say a word about anyone but Brad Stevens? Nope! Did you know that Thad Matta of Ohio State coached at Bulter? Bulter is at a higher level than Lamar. So they would have had a lot of people interested in the job yet they went with a coach without head coaching experience and he wasn't even 30 yrs old.  8) ;) :D ;D
6. Brad Stevens the Head Coach at Bulter who made it to the final four last year was 29 when he took over the duties. He had been an assistant for several years at Bulter but NEVER a head coach at any level of basketball and now he is one of the biggest names in college basketball. [Hidden Content]
7. No, I think Tidwell is giving them the chance to apply but they are all gone!
8.

Someone in the media
And I'll bet you can't remember which media member made this "statement"  ::) ::)
Looks like UNLV was right here so maybe SR can quit riding his jock on every dang post. [Hidden Content] Go to the 2:32 mark in the interview between Brooke and James and she mentions the WAC.
9. That isn't totally true. I know he recruited Garza, Williams and Wesley and they didn't graduate from Lamar.
10. Dude you are a sports anchor at a local TV station and you come on a sports message board calling people idiots? That isn't real smart and everyone knows you and Roc are tight but I didn't jump off the Roc bandwagon until after about the 12th game this season. I trust Coach Tidwell to make the best decisions on hiring and firing coaches. Hopefully, he will get it right on this next one Best of luck to Steve Roccaforte and his family. He is too good a recruiter and coach to be out of a job long.
11. Based on Coach Tidwell's comments they aren't "cleaning house" just yet.
12. Why wait to start looking for a new HC until after the tournament? Clarification: They will start looking after the final four.
13. There is on another fan site. They have someone there. Not going to post a link because I don't want to upset anyone.
14. Man, I never know with you because you'll say just about anything!!!  :D :D :D
15. Heck that would be great for Lamar if they reassigned Roc instead of firing him. BCG and Roc are good friends and if Roc left on his own to be an assistant at Tech; Lamar would owe him zero.
16. Lazeek, I know you have got to be kidding! As you see the big boys don't play around. He was at Oklahoma for five seasons.  Three years ago he had the Sooners in the Elite Eight with a 30-6 record.
17. Takes a dang lawyer to figure this out. The WNIT could make it a little clearer as it never says anything about the team finishing second.  But, he, Terror and a few others are right, Lamar is getting the automatic bid. [Hidden Content]
18.
The year before Giovanne left, a press conference was called to announce he was staying. It has happened before, but who knows. The political mess in that building is in full effect. Why some people are still on staff making over $100K and doing nothing is beside me...I am going to ask that today.
There is more than just one but I believe I know the main one you are talking about. Ask the question Coop!!!
19. H#!! no. If a coach can't win in the SLC by year 5 he need to be gone. Again we are talking about the SLC who's NCAA tournament team is in a play-in game. Five years is long enough and I have supported Coach Roc from the beginning. If you are going to judge one coach by certain standards then everyone should be judged equally. For one reason or another he didn't get the job done. 7-8 years to win in the SLC in ridiculous. Should a new coach feel the need to win immediately? No, but having a freshman recruiting class and coaching them thru their senior years and adding talent around them is plenty of time. Ronnie Arrow, Bob Marlin, Brooks Thompson and Dave Simmons are a few people who have coached in the SLC and it didn't take 7-8 season to get their teams in to post season play. Lamar has the best resources for MBB in the SLC.
20. [Hidden Content] He has a lot of information about Lamar in this article
21. TexasTerror, I have to give it to you. You are one arrogant individual. I posted myself the article in the Beaumont Enterprise and have read the press release from Lamar. BTW, where have the NIT or WNIT change in rules been noted? Then to bring Bob West into the discussion is ridiculous. I know after over 30 years of being a sports editor there are a few people that don't like him and/or some of the articles he has written but he has earned several honors and awards. For one he is a two-time Texas Sportswriter of the Year. And you write for who?
22. Well, the WNIT must have changed from a couple of years ago. When Tamara Abalde played here Lamar finished 2nd in the league and got to the conference tournament finals by beating SFA and A&M-CC. They didn't get an invite that year. Really, the debating is pointless and I've made my point. Lamar is playing in the post season and it is great for the program. Automatic bid or at large I don't care. If we are able to hoist a game let's honor the players and coaches by filling the Montagne Center.
23. I guess that is how you interpret it? The way I see it is if McNeese doesn't win the SLC tournament they would get the automatic bid to the WNIT. Maybe why when JJ posted the automatic bid posted on the WNIT site, Lamar wasn't listed?
24.
Guys - can we please learn how to read? Someone already posted it! You are giving Texas higher education a bad name... ;)
Selecting Teams The WNIT committee will choose 64 teams for its 2011 Postseason WNIT. The field will consist of 31 automatic berths – one from each established conference – and 33 at-large teams. The intention of the WNIT Selection Committee is to select the 33 best available at-large teams in the nation.
Even the SWAC guys get it - one team from every conference! It goes in pecking order, so if the No. 1 team from a league (i.e. McNeese) is in the NCAAs, we go to No. 2 which in this case is Lamar. How hard is it?
Oh TexasTerror, before making a comment you may want to read the WNIT website. Automatic Berths A team that is offered an automatic bid by the WNIT shall be the team that is a.) the highest-finishing team in its conference’s regular-season standings, and b.) is not selected for the NCAA Tournament. A team that fulfills these qualities will earn the WNIT automatic berth for their respective conference, regardless of overall record. This would be McNeese State as they were the highest-finishing team in the conference regular-season standings.
