Me either, as I'm not going to support a product like the men's basketball program at Lamar. Sorry if that is the wrong approach but I supported Roc for 4 1/2 years but I can't do it any longer. Heck, I have a hard time getting anyone to go with me. Not even family members want to watch Lamar men's basketball team!

Well, I know how I feel and I also believe I've stated EVERY POSITION should be up for the taking. Not just the QB but the RB, O line, WR's, D line, LB's, DB's, deep snapper, kicker, punter. That should cover everyone. Agree, I think if my job is on the line I'm starting the BEST PLAYERS I've got at every position. This isn't PEE WEE football where the parents come and ask the coach every week why little Johnny isn't playing more. We are talking about a college football team at the FCS level. That is only behind the FBS level as the highest level of college football that can be played in the NCAA.

If Kalis Loyd is able to play we win this one easy.

I talked to my brother and he told me that yes they are a little behind schedule on the fund raising drive but they are talking to a few businesses in the area (I believe in Orange) about donations and having business pay for having signs around the fencing advertising their company. He also told me they have already scheduled their first game but he didn't really want to put that out right now. Hope this information helps.

I stand corrected then, as it probably was his avatar and signature I read when he posted. Again, I love posting here and have great respect for those running the site. I just don't see the competition as the two sites are geared for a different group of people.

Puddin, don't have a heart attack here.  ;D I agree the passing game gave Lamar a chance to score when the running game averaged 2.2 yards per carry. The problem with only passing is if you can't move the ball thru the air than you leave more time on the clock for the other offense. I'm not throwing anyone under the bus. Do you think he would be the only player who might lose their starting position this season? I agree we have a prettty good bunch to choose from. There will be at least 2 and probably 3 on the offensive line. Don't you care about those guys too? I just want Lamar to line up with the best 22 starters we have and cheer them on to have a great season.

The school will have to go down the same path as UCA did so they won't be eligible for post season in any sport for 4 years. Plus, they are getting DII athletes that can't get into a DI school due to academic issues. It is funny how UCA was kicking tail in the SLC their first couple of seasons due to having guys on the team that wouldn't be if they were a DI school the whole time. Secondly, I have grown tired of having others leave the SLC and Lamar content to stay. We are talking about La Tech, Arkansas State, NE Louisiana, SW Louisiana, UNT and now TSU-SM and UTSA. You guys have a right to your own opinion but so do I and IMHO this isn't good for Lamar Athletics and those who support the team. I'm talking donors, season ticket holders, guys and gals in the Cardinal Club and etc.

I have posted on setxsports since about 2008 and love the site. This site (after censored shut down) were the only ones to give Lamar alumni and fan's a place to talk about anything related to Lamar University. However, in all honesty this is a regional sports forum that is geared toward high school athletics and setxsports does a great job as there are over 19K users on this site which is awesome. The Lamar forum really only has about 25-30 active posters. So, I personally don't understand the animosity between the two sites as it only has about 10-15 active members. If you think about it, there could be a good partnership between bigredinsider and setxsports. Doesn't Chad have his own site now Hoopinsider.com and doesn't he post here with links to his site? I just don't see the difference. Again, I love this site but I'll be posting on both as they are both great sites and IMHO a university needs their own fan site. I think Lamar University is big enough for guys or gals to post on both sites. You have by deepest respect AggiesAreWe and I hope it is a mutual thing and will continue.

I'll attempt to get some information for you regarding this subject. I think they are a little behind where they thought they would be at this point. As soon as I hear something concrete, I'll let you guys know.

Just a few unnamed people weren't the biggest BT supporters who frequent this board. I'll leave it at that.

I wouldn't count him out yet. [/quote] Things will work out during these spring (winter) drills and the cream will rise to the top. I've got my money on Johnson because of the fact they are going to use the option as part of the offense. But, if in the end Prewitt is the starter I'll be cheering for him because the team is more important than one player as that guy is one injury away from coming out of the game.

Sorry, I want no part of a SLC with ACU or any other DII school moving up.

The post by Bruce has to be the best post with the possible exception of one of coachacola's that I have read regarding anything about Lamar athletics. Well stated and factual!
