1. Gosh, that is bad news for K-State and their fan's. Middle of the pack in the Big XII without those two guys.
2.
If I only get one rule change, it would be to go back to only 2 playoff teams from each district. No, it would be 6 classifications (plus 6Man) with no divisions per classification. No, it would be tougher taunting/celebration rules, including giving the option of Live Ball or Dead Ball foul.
Agree, 110% with this post and additionally the pass inference penalty for me should be at the spot of the foul.
3. Yea, 1984 wasn't one of WO-S' better years as we (LC-M) almost beat you guys. That hasn't happened very often in that series. LC-M maybe has won twice in 30 years.  :o I think Homer Rhodes and the 1983 team and Buster Ascol and the 1994 team beat the Mustangs. The later was in a rain storm! Back to the topic, I remember playing against Harold Green. If I remember right he was great at track too.
4. It is unbelievable someone would make a comment about the the staff of setxsports.com as they volunteer their time to give this site a great overall sports experience. Especially, the guys covering HS football and basketball. I would say the All SETX Team will be the most unbias of all the local All-Star teams and that goes for All-District teams too. WOSgrad, AggiesAreWe and the rest of the setxsports.com staff does a great job. Thanks for all you do!
5.

Mike Yoder, Blinn, 6-5, 285, Kingwood, TX O Lineman. [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] Matt Goetz, Navarro 6-4, 280 signed with Texas Tech out of HS from Cibolo, Texas. [Hidden Content]
Looks like they would both be solid pick ups for Lamar. If they haven't already.. LU maybe needs to offer Yoder. Woodard may feel like he has enough O-linemen now, but it's hard to pass up on a first team all-conference guy.
Especially a guy All-Conference from the best juco league in the nation. Do I need to be a coach to know that?  ;D
6. Ex Bridge City and current Texas City HC Chuck Young or current LC-M HC Steve Griffith

8. I played against both Shon and Rod and hated to see them coming to the plate when I was pitching because I knew there was nothing I had to strike them out. I just hoped they hit the ball to a teammate and kept the ball in the park. They were both great players!
9. Justin has been selected to the Port Arthur News 39th Annual Super Team put out on Christmas Day.
10. Congratulations to all the players selected.
11.
Wow. Now you can get your brother to hire you as one of his coordinators and you can turn your words into action, sweet.
He can't afford me, I make a lot more than most HS coaches. A lot! Maybe you can apply? BTW, in 6 man football it is just about all passing. They have several different rules compared to 11 man football. Like 15 yards for a first down. Everyone is eligible including the center on passes. The field is 40x80 yards. The quarterback must hand off, pitch or throw the ball before it can cross the line of scrimmage. Then they have a mercy rule. Also hipster, I'm a fan of football at every level and like most people that are members of setxsport.com I voice my opinion from time to time. If you don't like what I say, it is simple. Just don't read it!  ::)
12. These two coaches will do a great job with strength training, working fast twitch muscle fibers and conditioning. Coach Scott Reeves and Coach Joshua Miller will have these guys ready to play come September. [Hidden Content]
13. Merry Christmas to you and the BearKat nation too.
14. Well, at least I can read.  :D :D
15. He is more of a running threat than a passer. I see a change of position for him at the next level.
16. I played 3 years varsity football. Sophomore I played CB. Junior year I played FS and senior year WR. I stated my brother played COLLEGE FOOTBALL at McNeese. After graduation he went into the coaching profession. First at LC-M, then at West Brook and finally at Mansfield. Every year he coached their team made the playoffs. At LC-M under David Williams they made it 3 straight years. Then he moved over to West Brook and they had a stud QB named Chip Ambres and they make it twice while he was there. Then he coached at Mansfield and was an associate pastor in Arlington. They made the playoffs both years he coached there. As a 26 yr old, he was a finalist for the Deweyville job. He is now the Associate Pastor and Superintendent at Community Christian Church and School in Orange. They are starting a 6 man football program next year. [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] I'll get my playbook from him.  ;)
17. puddin tane, read what AJ25 wrote maybe that will make sense to you. No, I'm not for running the wishbone. Boy you go from one extreme to the other.  :D Boise State rushing 2578, passing 3833. Haven't they done more with less talent?
18. Eastern Washington rushing yardage 2316, passing yardage 3313  ;)
19. What happened to SFA in the playoffs? Jeremy Moses their QB was a two-time SLC Player of the Year, and a Walter Payton Award candidate set a FCS record for all-time completions leader (1,184) in a loss at home to Villanova? You are right, today's game is passing but the BEST TEAMS can do both.  ;) Have you watched Oregon or Auburn this year? Oregon rushing 3933, passing 2518. Auburn rushing 4022, passing 2737
20. I was at the Rice game too and know what you mean. I have been a Roc supporter from day one but he just isn't getting the job done. I've listened to his radio shows and he'll say one thing about a player. Something like this; Dave Hoffeth, "Can you tell us about Mike James and his abilities?" Roc, "Mike can lead a team at the PG position and have 6-8 assist or if we need he is capable of scoring 35 points. He is a very talented player." Then at the next game he plays 8 minutes! Anthony Miles has played here for 3 years now. We have missed the SLC tournament twice and are 5-6 this year. Maybe give another player the opportunity to lead the team. Then Tremell Adams scored 31 and 38 points in two scrimmages and he either isn't playing at all or he is getting less than 10 minutes. I'm not a real knowledgeable basketball fan but I'm told a scorer needs to get into a rhythm. How is that possible when a guy makes a shot then the coaching staff makes a substitution for the very player who just scored. There is no reason to have lost to Rice. We play for 40 minutes and we win that game. Then ULL was 1-8 with a loss to Texas College and we blow a 11 point first half lead. However, at half we still lead by 3. Then to be honest, I didn't even listen to the Canisius game. The fun of watching or listening to this team is gone for me. I wish the players and coaches the best but I'm tired of watching a losing product on the court.
21. The offense looked great? Well, with Prewitt or Bevil at QB they broke records for yards per carry 2.2. Rushing yards in a season and only scored one rushing TD and that was versus DII OPSU. The ones who looked great were our WR's as they starred with both QB's. Bevil has the record for completions in a game at 33 and yards in a game 429. He did turn the ball over too much with 14 ints and 6 fumbles in 8 1/2 games. Prewitt did a great job but was never close to the completions or the yardage record. He was 2-1 as a starter. He did show leadership and I believe the team rallied around him. But, Bevil lead the team to a victory over SE Louisiana. The only win over a SLC team. I can see someone saying our pass offense looked great with Prewitt but not our overall offense. That is what Johnson will bring to the table. He'll make the rushing attack better and I predict he'll be the starter once the season starts. I'm not going to argue the point any longer as it is stupid to do so anymore. We'll see who the starting QB is next September.
22. That is a great idea.  8)
23. We still have a few scholarships for the Feb. signing period and if we get some DL help that will make us a better team. Since Hall didn't get in school maybe sign another RB if the coaching staff doesn't think Hall can get into Lamar by the fall semester. Or he signs with a DII school.
24. I think Whitten will be the OC for the year to come.
25. AAW, these videos don't matter because they were against 3A competition.  ::) Thanks for posting them.
