1.
Lu starts a qb with dreadlocks, they can have my tickets.
Where are your tickets as I may need a few more.
2.
Lamar didn't have a 12 point lead. ULL is the team that had the 12 point lead and Lamar got within 3. But I still believe that they should have won this game if they plan to compete in their conference this year.
Sorry, you are wrong as Lamar had a 12 point lead during the first half. You can read all the info in this link it you would like. To be exact it was an 11 point lead 19-30, Lamar with 4:49 left in the first half. [Hidden Content]
3. Alright it's been enough time to watch this team and coaching staff this season to make a unbias opinion. I think it would be best if Roc and Lamar part ways after the season. I really wanted it to be different because he is a Lamar alum and this was his dream job but things just aren't working out. There is no way Lamar should have lost to ULL after having a 12 point lead and they were 1-8 with a lost to Texas College last week!
4. Congratulations. Went to the game and they can really shoot the ball.
5. Dang, that sticks but he had a whole year to work on his grades and he must have laid out of school all of last spring and fall semesters. Hope he does well at ACU.

7. Quote from the article Johnson will compete with returning quarterbacks Doug Prewitt and Andre Bevil for the starting position. A primary focus for coaches will be to determine the best way for Johnson to impact the offense. Whether that means putting him at quarterback, running back or receiver remains to be seen. Jeremy Johnson isn't being given anything but a shot to start at QB for Lamar.
8. Hope he is good enough to play at Lamar. There is another O lineman upper classmen the Cardinals have added this Dec. signing period.
9.

Sorry but I'd rather see prewitt get the chance to prove that he deserves the job.  And we better recruit a few defensive players.
I'm with you, I would hope that Prewitt or anyone else has to work to get the position. At least we know that Prewitt is not a quitter.  JJ did quit mid-season, maybe he can't make the grade or just home sick, needs to grow up.  Prewitt he is at least grown up enough stay with it and wait for a chance. And we do need some size on both sides of the line.
Aren't you the same guy that talks about Jenna Plumley and the Lady Cardinals BB team? She was kicked off the OU WBB team due to stealing from a Walmart? Now, she made a mistake and has been a model student-athlete at Lamar and all the awards that come her way she deserves. Jeremy Johnson made a mistake in signing with WVU in the first place. Is his mistake worse than Plumey's? I believe he passed all his classes which makes him eligible for the Spring drills at Lamar so the comment about him making the grade is out of line here. As for needing to grow up, most 17-18 year olds need to do the same. Agree we need some size on both sides of the line and Coach Woodard signed two 2nd team all-conference O linemen from the JC ranks and has a verbal from a West Brook's Justin Brock a 2nd team selection on the Beaumont Enterprise Super Gold Team and Joe Persohn a junior at H-F who was a first team Beaumont Enterprise Super Gold team selection. Just added a O lineman transfer from the University of Missouri. They still have a few scholarships available and I'm sure they will address the defensive side of the ball.
10. Hope all works out well for the Lions
11. Thanks for the update on Derrick Hall and his reported signing. Hopefully, they can clear up those "issues".
12. Now, that would be a dream come true...
13.
Welcome home JJ!! BTW, don't know about this "guarantee" stuff, but Jeremy will play QB. ;)
Agree AAW, I started laughing as I read that but I'm too happy to worry about that stuff. As I'm sure he'll prove to be the best QB at Lamar during the spring. The only other position that would make any sense would be RB if he added 10-15 pounds. With this addition, it will only help recruiting as guys see us landing a top transfer like Jeremy Johnson.
14. Please hire him Angelo State. Best of luck on a head coaching gig Coach Whitten.
15. This will be a great get for the Cardinals football program. I hope he follows through and does indeed sign with LU today! I know we at Lamar are bad at talking recruiting classes but you have to be impressed with the guys we have coming in. Still no mention of Derrick Hall? [Hidden Content]
16. Would be nice to add a couple DL also.
17. Yep, you need a good O and D line at any level of football to be successful.
18. Don't think it would, as he would still have to beat out Geno Smith 6'3, 210lbs. He was 219 out of 333 attempts. He threw for 2567 yards, 23 TD's and 6 ints for the season. WVU finished  9-3 and two of the losses were in OT. They are playing NC State in a bowl game Dec. 28th.
19. Agree with his size and skill he has to have the coaching staff at Lamar excited about his commitment. Or was it? I guess it is unless something better come along.  ::) I know he is probably only 17 but some things you can think but don't say. I wish Forney the best and may he become one of the hardest workers on the Lamar football team.
20. Good get for Lamar and if Hall signs it will be a great tandem for the Cardinals.
21. Colton Collins is a 6-foot-4, 300-pound offensive tackle played the last two seasons at Trinity Valley Community College and played high school football at Austin McCallum. Collins ended the season as a second-team offensive lineman in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference. blog.beaumontenterprise.com/inthecards/2...from-junior-college/
22.
I believe if Johnson comes in they will make it a fair competition. Prewitt is a great teammate and has the support of the entire team. Sometimes thats what it takes... Not to mention Prewitt can expand the field with his arm.
Johnson can expand the field with his arm and his legs.  ;)
23. We don't know where Jeremy Johnson is going to end up. Prewitt did a great job at the end of the season and I'm sure he could do well in the future. However, if we have a chance to land Jeremy Johnson he will have to compete for the starting job and I'm sure he wouldn't back away from it. Based on the JJ video provided by AAW, there are things Prewitt just can't do that JJ can. It's not knock on Prewitt as there are few people who can.
24. Former Central defensive back Adrian Guillory 5'8, 185lbs signed with Lamar. He also played at Navarro. Guillory ended the season at Navarro with 19 tackles and three interceptions in five games, according to the NJCAA web site.
