He is 6'5 and can't even dunk. He is 25 lbs. overweight and has been outplayed by a freshman on his team. He is lucky the freshman is in the hospital right now or he would probally be on the bench. I was talking to a LU coach Friday night who felt the same way. He better start realizing that it's going to take some work or he want see the football field either. He will not play QB at LU. It's a shame when you see a kid with his ability and won't put the work in to be much better. He has not helped the Nederland basketball team at all this season. Honestly I'm a LU supporter and would like to see them get kid's that can help us.
Why are there Moderators on this board? Is it so they can find out who there talking to, or is it to have a title and feel important, or is it to actually moderate the board. This should be removed! Remember no player bashing. How long will it take, only the moderators know. Games i just tapped you on the karma thing, if it matters at all.
I think it all depends on which kids they are bashing.
I agree this is sad let the coaches at Lamar decide what will happen with Forney. Stop hating on the kid.
What are you trying to say here? If he attending Lamar the coaches will decide what position he plays. That is part of college football and basketball.
2. He probably got a letter and thought that was being recruited. I'll give the future Card a break.  ;)
3. Brock is a two-time first-team all-District 21-5A player. [Hidden Content]
4. Lamar only had 13-15 scholarships to give at the start of the December signing period. That was before signing Hall, Garrett and Sanchez. They received a verbal from Forney out of Nederland and they are in the mix to land Jeremy Johnson after he transfers from West Virginia. Other need areas are the O and D line. So they only have 10 scholarships left unless they give out some partials. I don't see them signing 3 RB's in this class. One poster stated Ford wanted other Kirbyville players with him and SFA was in position to offer that. This isn't going to happen at Lamar. Trust me on that! BTW, you can add Justin Brock O lineman from West Brook to the list of verbal commitments.
5. AggiesAreWe, thanks for posting the links to the youtube videos as I had never seen Jeremy Johnson play. I just went by what others said about him. After watching the videos he is the real deal and Lamar's offense would definitely improve with him at QB if he were to transfer here.
6. Well, there times when a coach can pull a scholarship if he thinks the young man is not following team rules. I would think showing up and working out would be part of that. Really, Lamar is in a win-win situation here as if Forney was a great leader, loved to work out and was a model player the Cardinals probably would not have had the chance to sign him. Let's just hope he matures.
7. Not 100% sure as the have him listed as playing for Navarro. But the stats are from his days as a Mustang RB both jr and sr years.
8. [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] While looking at Derrick Hall's rivals information. Check out his forty time.
9. Not at RB as they (Lamar) just signed two RB's. One Derrick Hall who originally signed with A&M in HS and DePauldrick Garrett from Navarro's National Championship team is which he ran for 108 versus Bulter Community College in Kansas. Garrett is from WO-S so he is a young man from two winning programs. I see Harmon moving to LB or a better position for his skill set would be SS.
10.
A&M is going hard after Texas Tech RB commit Kenny Williams, and the word is that he will switch his commit and end up in Aggieland.  If Fred waits too long, A&M may not have a spot for him.  Lamar showed no real effort to run the ball last year.  They scored their 1st rushing TD in the last game of the season.  His talents would be wasted there IMO. He will probably end up at SFA
Lamar signed two RB's in the Dec. signing period so I don't see him there. Best of luck in the future. Agree, Baylor is the best choice for him at a major college IMO.
11. Coach Woodard is probably offering on potential. The guy is 6'5, 245 so in four years he could be a OT. I think Coach Woodard told him he would have a chance to play QB but I personally don't see that happening. Read an article that stated Lamar has recruited 11 kids that played QB in HS and moved them to different positions.
12. JJ, I was talking about him transferring to another FBS school.
13. Maybe but that means sitting the bench another year. He is a freshman redshirting then have to sit out due to NCAA transfer rules. That also means he'll lose a year of eligibility.
14. If he goes to A&M Gray and Michael will be ahead of him with Michael only a sophomore. I say Baylor if he wants to play in a major conference.
15.
NO.......Forney is not the QB that I was talking about!!!!!!!  Whew!! ;D ;D ;D
You are killing me Lazeek!
16. I haven't heard a thing but I see that a couple of people in the know haven't responded with a no so I take that as a good sign as the young man may want to keep it quiet for now.
17. Congratulations to all the young men who made the team. I know it is a special award.
18. No, I've read several complaints of the turf they run on at the combine. A lot of players don't like it.
19.
To get better teams to come to Beaumont we might have to do more of what they did to get Tech to come which was a two for one deal.  Yes conference only home games would hurt but I don't think it has to get that bad.  When it comes to at large berths for the NCAA the first thing that comes up is quality wins.  Don't care if home, away or neutral site.
Have there ever been a at large berth for the NCAA from the SLC? Not going to happen.
20. He is going to be given a chance at QB but if that doesn't work out he'll play another position.
21. Of the players I posted several of them are FBS or juco transfers.  Here are players from the Golden Triangle and Lumberton. Anthony Beard Lumberton, Texas Andre Bevil Orange, Texas Patrick Carlton Bridge City, Texas Billy Chavis Beaumont, Texas Blake Chavis Beaumont, Texas Ryan Clark Beaumont, Texas Jacody Coleman Beaumont, Texas Jordan Garrett Beaumont, Texas Kyle Gillam Lumberton, Texas Caleb Harmon Port Neches, Texas Torre Henry Beaumont, Texas Cody Hussey Lumberton, Texas William Jones Beaumont, Texas James Laramore Vidor, Texas Donte Lopez Beaumont, Texas Christian Louis Beaumont, Texas Ryan McLin Port Neches, Texas Mark Murrill Lumberton, Texas Blake Peveto Orange, Texas Josh Powdrill Beaumont, Texas Doug Prewitt Beaumont, Texas Aaron Shetley Groves, Texas Harrison Tatum Groves, Texas Branden Thomas Beaumont, Texas Joseph Viator Orange, Texas
22. You need to look at the roster to see the number of local kids. Congratulations to the Jacks on winning the SLC and great job in the FCS playoffs. LOL ::) We lead the SLC (if we were a member this past season) in attendance. I'd love Ford to come to Lamar but we are signing a 3 star recruit at the RB position in Derrick Hall (Beaumont Central alumnus). So, it isn't like we aren't going to have talent at the position.  8) Here are the local and I am counting all of SE Texas as local. Chad Allen Coldspring, Texas Emone Bailey Houston, Texas Anthony Beard Lumberton, Texas Andre Bevil Orange, Texas Kevin Brooks Houston, Texas Mike Candler Houston, Texas Patrick Carlton Bridge City, Texas Billy Chavis Beaumont, Texas Blake Chavis Beaumont, Texas Ryan Clark Beaumont, Texas Jacody Coleman Beaumont, Texas Brandon Crissmon-Stewart Humble, Texas Kevin Davis Pearland, Texas Jesse Dickson Houston, Texas Jordan Edwards Houston, Texas Barry Ford Houston, Texas Jordan Garrett Beaumont, Texas Kyle Gillam Lumberton, Texas Caleb Harmon Port Neches, Texas Torre Henry Beaumont, Texas Cody Hussey Lumberton, Texas Darby Jackson Humble, Texas Joshua James Silsbee, Texas Ryan Jones Kirbyville, Texas William Jones Beaumont, Texas Jeremy Kirt Houston, Texas James Laramore Vidor, Texas Donte Lopez Beaumont, Texas Christian Louis Beaumont, Texas Ryan McLin Port Neches, Texas Mark Murrill Lumberton, Texas Jordan Nixon Willis, Texas Keaton Parker Livingston, Texas Keinon Peterson Dickinson, Texas Blake Peveto Orange, Texas Payton Ploch Dayton, Texas Josh Powdrill Beaumont, Texas Doug Prewitt Beaumont, Texas Aaron Shetley Groves, Texas Zach Skinner Silsbee, Texas Harrison Tatum Groves, Texas Branden Thomas Beaumont, Texas Mike Venson Katy, Texas Joseph Viator Orange, Texas Brent Walters Willis, Texas James Washington Houston, Texas
23. Congratulations to Coach Tidwell on this honor.
