1.

Should not be a surprise to anyone.  Lamar's number one problem, lack of quality coaching.
Or defense?
Yep, that is another question for me as well held them to 27 pts in the first half. Then give up 48 pts in the second half. What happened to the defense?
 2. Just got back from the game and as hard as it is I'll reframe from making any comments. I think the half-time score and who Coach Roc played at the end of the game says it all.  ::) Didn't Mike James basiclly win the game with 5 pts in the final two minutes versus UTPA? This game appeared to be the same type of situation and James is sitting on the bench? Just a couple of questions I have.
 3. TO's are killing this team and I'm surprised with Plumley at the PG position. We need a post who can finish and defend in the post. I don't see that young lady on this years team which will keep Lamar WBB as a very good team and not a great one. I do think we have a chance to win conference again but UCA and Corpus Christi have very good WBB teams.
 4.

Therefore I am back on the LU joining the WAC IF; 1. WAC gets the waiver 2. no new western schools join... 3. A new name...4. ULL and Ark st join. UTSA Texas st New Mexico st ULL Lamar Ark st Denver SJSU? Idaho?
Assuming you are talking about changing the name WAC to something else, that would be a disaster.  That WAC name and emblem is the only thing that has kept the conference around so long.  That would be like changing the name COKE COLA® to something else. And no, there is not chance UNT will be enticed to move to the WAC.  The university has formally declined an invite for the 3rd time.
If they keep losing teams in the Western part of the country and adding schools from Texas it would be funny for the name to continue being the Western Athletic Conference. Would not make sense for the name to stay the same as it would not represent the schools in the conference. The name has been around so long because they had teams from the Western part of the USA.
 5. Rice runs the Princeton Offense as does Nicholls State and it gives teams a hard time defending. I stated I'll wait until the 12 game to start predicting scores and giving my opinion of the team so they still have a few more game before then. Go Cards.
 6. Yep, I'll give you hoops as I'm definitely just a fan.
 7.

Hard to judge this game. Take away Lamar's awful shooting and out of control plays, Lamar looked big time. Texas didn't look like a top 25 team or was it Lamar making them look bad. Lamar needs to work on the half court game. I really like the slashing by Lamar. I think this is what kept Lamar in the game. Lamar has lots of depth, finally. Watch out SLC. This Lamar team has potential.
Careful UNLV.....when I said this exact same thing after the 1st game of the year I was criticized!!!!! ;D ;D ;D
A little different here as your comments were after our FIRST GAME.  ;D
 8. We got a great team as for as SLC standards but we don't have a 6'3 post who can finish in the paint. Don't think they can defend in the post against a Top 10 team either. Hope I'm wrong but I don't see a team Coach Tidwell stated was "soft" beating the Lady Vols. Good luck Lady Cards. Prove me wrong!
 9. Three of the six posted have a lot to do with the way the game is played now compared to twenty years ago. Two have to do with our offensive sheme and that starts with the OC. 9 rushing attempts is unbelievable. As for a the RB JJ is talking about at Sam; he was a coverted LB to RB and it worked out well for the Bearkats and the young man. But, it isn't like he was a four year star RB for SHSU either.
 10. They got a bus going to the game. You might want to call (409)880-2319 and attempt to get tickets near them.
 11. Congratulations to the Lady Cards.
 12. Well, yea if could have been worst as CCS only has 20-30 young men in the high school. Vidor has that is one class. They didn't beat CCS as bad as Yates beat a team last year, by over a 100 points. I'm sure the Vidor coach showed some class and didn't attempt to run up the score. Heck, UT beat SHSU by 34 and they are both DI schools. That isn't the case here. Again, good game by Vidor and I'm proud of CCS for competing. I attend church there and my brother is the superintendent at CCS [Hidden Content] So, I try to be supportive even in a double digit loss to a 4A UIL school.
 13. Closer game than I thought, as Vidor is over 10 times the size of CCS. Congratulations to Vidor on the victory and to the Lions for competing.
 14. Lamar 78, LSU-Shreveport 58 with Kalis Loyd lead the Cards with 19 points.
 15. I just watched the last 5 minutes on the web feed on the UTPA website. In the last minute of the game Mike James had 5 points including a big trey. Still, I'll just post facts as I'll leave my opinion about this game out until after the 12th game.
 16. Prayers sent from Orange for the Sanchez family.
 17. Dang, DP you are doing a great job with these young men at CCS.
 18.
Orange Community Christian Lions defeated High Island 53 to 47. The Lions were lead by Daniel Battise's 14 points and Matthew McAfee with 12 points. Orange Community Christian Lions (3-1)  will play the Vidor Pirates ( 1-0 ) at home Tuesday at 6:00pm.
Congratulations to the Lions on the victory and good luck versus Vidor.
 19. Man, the defense is non existent but I stated I'll wait for 10-12 games before making too many statements about the team. So, I'll keep my frustrations to myself.
 20. Great games as I saw both and they could have beat Valpo worse if Lamar didn't have the TO's in the first half to keep the game close.
 21.
i dont think west brook, central or ozone are gonna affect LU attendance that much...mid county might....but 4k short of a sellout?  not that much I think students have shown up pretty well i think these added up, a-I think LU public relations bit the dust toward the end of the season b-deer season c-playoff games d-ut and aggie wannabes we had players from bmt, hardin county, orange county, mid county playing last night..tatum was even playing some kickoffs...dude from Dayton had a career day on special teams gotta love those cowbell folks in top of W207 or 208?  rooting for 42!  gotta get me some seats by them, they are awesome fans!the early mass exodus...kills me
Agree with your observations and 42 his a young man from LC-M. Joseph Viator, I know his dad pretty well as he use to own Kings Gym in Orange.

He said they have a few ideas for next year but didn't share them with me nor did I ask. He said student attendance was great the first 3 games but fell off the last two. I like badndn stated earlier in this thread I mentioned the HS playoff games as a possibility of effecting the attendance to him and he stated there are a lot of season ticket holders that are PNG alumni and that probably did effect the game last night. I agree with coachacola if Lamat were in a FBS conference and winning 8 or more a year the HS playoff games wouldn't effect attendance as much. Next year we finish the season at home with McNeese. So, either way that should be a well attended game.
If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry christmas. By and large, nobody really cares about beaumont high school football.  The PNG game definitely hurt.  We just need to make sure and recruit plenty of PNG and Nederland boys to keep attendance up.  Having a few Beaumont and Lumberton players can't hurt either.  At least until we are in FBS and winning 8+ games per year.
Oh and the students do need to be MUCH more involved.  When I was in school I was in a fraternity and pretty much the only students that showed up to football and basketball games were the greeks.  Oh, and what did the President at the time do?  Try and make life a miserable as possible for the greeks.  He was trying his best to run us off campus.  dang idiot.
I heard a rumor that they were looking into building some frat houses on campus for the fraternities and sororities. Would be a great deal in my opinion and let the young men and women have a little fun on campus without the administration coming down on them.
 23. JJ, I guess we'll agree to disagree about Holtz. As I like him and Mark May going at each other during the show.
