1. BTW, I was just making fun of one of his post directed toward me. [applaud] [smite] Posts: 231 "Let's play two"...Ernie Banks   Re: Todd Dodge out at UNT « Reply #36 on: October 27, 2010, 07:57:49 PM » Quote  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote from: bigred360 on October 26, 2010, 01:17:34 PM Quote from: puddin tane on October 25, 2010, 11:01:47 PM didnt set the world on fire before SLC,24-35 never finished above .500 Always find a way to find something negative. What do you do for a living? I know I wouldn't want someone to always find something wrong with my job preformance. Then again, I deal will life or death issues everyday and have seen 1993 so there haven't been too many complaints.  As for as Todd Dodge, you didn't mention he was the WR and QB coach at Rockwall and helped the team to the 4A state championship game versus SE Texas own West Orange-Stark. Nor did your post mention his stop at McKinney where they were a run oriented offense and changed the offense to a spread. By 1991, McKinney made it to the 4A regional finals. i put out a fact, you get your panties in a knot..everybody seems to think Dodge is God's gift to coaching, i think otherwise.

3. She was POY and Newcomer of the Year.
4. Please PM me as I have some exciting news you may or may not know about. I think you will like what I have to tell you but I've been asked not to make it public. But, I'm so excited I have to tell someone and I know you'll keep it confidential.
5. Lamar beat Nicholls by a 3-1 score.
6. Congratulations to the men's cross country team on a 5th straight SLC title.
7. God, hoping we are in the Top 200 sucks! Lamar has got to get this program turned around.
8. I believe Adren Dorsey is suppost to be back on defense.

10. Now, we are not just talking about generalized statements about the coaching staff but putting out names as Craig McGallion is the recruiting coordinator. Honestly, I agree for the most part but if Lamar lands Jeremy Johnson Coach McGallion will be a big reason as they are both from Silsbee.
11. The women's soccer team wraps up the regular season when it hosts McNeese State at 7 p.m. Friday at the Lamar Soccer Complex on Senior Night.
12. Lamar will host Nicholls at 7 p.m.
13. The WBB team will have their media day at 2PM at the Montagne Center. Then they come back to the basketball court at 7PM for an intrasquad scrimmage which is free and open to the public. While the scrimmage is going on AD/WBB Head Coach Larry Tidwell will be having his weekly call-in radio show with Harold Mann on KLVI 560AM
14. Thanks LumberCard for the post. Lamar must not have done well in the womens race as you didn't mention them. If you know how they did, could you post it please. Thanks.
Actually, I wear boxer briefs and no they aren't in a knot. :D You are entitled to your opinion about Coach Dodge and he deserved to get canned for his record at UNT. Please find a post in which I stated differently. But, you can't ignore what he did at Southlake Carroll as a coach. He is a young man when it comes to coaching and he'll land on his feet somewhere. I personally think it will be at the college level because you can't expect to duplicate the success he had at SLC at another high school. I'm sure no one cares what I do for a living. But, comparing my job preformance with Coach Dodge at UNT I wouldn't just be fired but probably sued too.  ;D
16. I think we have a real chance to win in both the men and women cross country SLC titles.
17. No, I wish I had some information for you. I know they are scrimmaging Centenary College and either Prairie View A&M or Texas Southern but due to NCAA rules those are closed to the public. That in a NCAA call and not a call by Lamar University.
18. Thanks skyhcky, the Lady Cards have me excited this season. I hope there will be 2K-3K at all the home games as the ladies deserve the support. Then if you have never seen a womens college basketball game it is more entertaining than you might think. I encourage all Lamar supporter to give it a try at least one time.  ;)
19.

Lamar averaged almost 26 points per game their first 3 games, since then they have scored a total of 27 points.  And against D1 opponents Lamar gives up over 35 points a game.  Lamar can't be favored to win any games with those numbers.  Nevertheless, the defense is improving and if Bevil can find a way to play halfway decent without turning the ball over all the time Lamar has a chance to win.
And that's the biggest problem with Lamar. I think the if the offense could run the ball, a little more clock management, it would keep the defense (and the other team's offense) off the field.
I dont mind passing 50 times a game..if we just threw it to the right team..air that sucker out!!!  Bring back alborn's air raid siren..loved it.
Thing is Coach Woodard doesn't want to pass the ball that often so I see us attempting to run early in the game.
20. I see Lamar women is the Top 10 of this polls by the time of conference play. They are really loaded and Lamar has a GREAT PG. Men or women, you need a good PG to be a good team and we got that in Jenna Plumley.

22.
I liked the fact that kalis was very vocal on the floor.  She has turned into a great team leader.  Telling girls where to line up, when to pick, take a shot, rebound etc...  I was impressed with the speed of #32 (don't know the names just yet) #30 gives LU another 3point shooter and she seemed to always be at the right place at the right time.  Hard to tell with just one scrimmage but she may be one of those players that just has a nose for the ball.   The big girls get pushed around and need to become a little more mentally tough underneath.  They have the ability but need to get that "I shall not be moved!!" attitude :) I keep waiting for Danny to do that.  She has the build and talent to dominate the boards.  I know she is young so I have high hopes.   of course, Jena was amazing as always.  I thought the team did ok for a scrimmage and like Cat22 said, "if you don't defend, you don't play."  and a player was taken out of the scrimmage for not defending.  I can't remember if she ever went back in.  I bet she defends next time :)
32 is Myriam Igoufe the young lady from France I was talking about starting at the 2 for the Lady Cards in another thread. 30 is Taylor Hays and she does in fact give Lamar a 3 pt shooter but she needs to get better on the defensive end before she can be mentioned as a possible starter. The player Coach Tidwell took out of the scrimmage was the young lady from Peru, Francesca Bellatin. She needs to get use to the American style of play as in high school in Peru she averaged 37 ppg. She is talented and before conference starts I think she'll be in the rotation. She has to play better defense obviously.  Then Danielle Heithoff (Danny) will get stronger, more aggressive and better around the basket and she'll get playing time but I see Trashanna Smith the starter at the post position.
