I went and watched practice today after the Lady Cardinals scrimmage. Coach Roc said it was okay with him. I know you can't get a lot from just seeing the team one time but I think they are going to be fun to watch. Nelson, Brown, Davis, Ebomwonyi, Adams, Harper and Miles really looked good. Davis can shoot the trey with about 45% accuracy. He was hitting some bombs. Custer looks bigger and more confident in himself. Negative, Mike James didn't practice and was in a cast on his Left wrist. Devon Lamb didn't score like I thought he could but then again I've only seen one practice. I was surprised by the play of true freshman from PA Memorial Darius Harris. Also, Kendrick Harris and Donley Minor looked good and I was having a hard time telling them apart and they could pass for twins and their game is a lot alike. Based off just this one practice Coach Roc is going to have a good problem and that is coming up with a starting 5.
Dodge didn't have success at unt but don't forget he was considered basically a God at southlake Carroll. Those people haven't forgot that and still have respect for him.
Man, he didn't go from a great coach at Southlake to a terrible one at UNT. He made a few bad hires and injuries killed his teams at UNT. He was the FIRST QB in Texas High School history to pass for more than 3,000 yards in a season while at PA Jefferson in 1980. The was a HS All American and signed with UT. While coaching at Southlake from 2001-2006, the Dragons won 4 state titles, 1 state finalist had 89 victories and ONE defeat. Which was a one point loss to Katy 16-15 in 2003 title game. He won the last 48 straight games he coached at Southlake Carroll. If you are a high school football fan you shouldn't be able to forget about him. If I had an opportunity to hire him I would in a heartbeat; high school or college OC. Don't look for him to be out of work long as Bob West mentioned he may end up at UT in his Sunday Column.
from a good source of mine Jeremy Johnson will attend Lamar
If true this could really help us in all phases of the football team. It will help recruiting and the addition of Hall will give the offense a true dual threat. All of which will make us better. -

It helps to be best friends with the AD. If they make the SLC tournament Coach Roc will still be around. BTW, I've heard there may be four new starters with Custer making the 5th. Anyone else hear anything like this?

Sleepy played a sport at Lamar but I'll let him tell you which one if he wants.
Glad to hear it. I've coached at the D1 level. Believe what you want to believe.
"I've coached at the DI level." Does that been you don't anymore? If you want to be successful in the won-loss column you play your best players that is from Jr. High on up to the pro level. I believe the Head Coach at Nederland had a situation this season when a few players thought they could tell him which QB to start! :D :D -

There have been questions asked about the young man from Nederland and I've heard both sides of that story. IMO, he didn't get a fair chance. But, they are always going to look harder at scholarship players compared to walk-ons. -
I believe they will be better but not sure how much until we see them against a few good teams.

I'm surprised we are ahead of McNeese but I expected us to be around the top in attendance. Now, we need to start winning and giving the people a reason to keep coming back.

Coach Dodge did not work out at UNT but he can talk circles around you regarding football. BTW, he can talk circles around a lot of people. Like you stated in a earlier post he just did not hire the right assistants. I promise you if you are a HS or JC recuit and you play offense you'll love playing for Todd Dodge.

Jeremy Johnson is leaving West Virginia

Man, I'm not wrong about the basic idea here and that is a lot of kids transfer schools for different reasons and they aren't all homesick and quiters. Just a fact. -

What you wanted me to list another player who transferred. :D But, I'll provide the link I got my information about MD and everyone can read about why OU ran an I formation on offense. As for as JJ, he doesn't need to give anyone an excuse for wanting to transfer. He is a young man and can make his own decisions. That includes transferring schools if he wishes. Here is the Marcus Dupree information. [Hidden Content]
I never said jj was making the excuses, i said you are. you misread my post, i said if I were J. Johnson i would want all of you to shut up until i was ready to make it public, and not make excuses for me. that's all. And you're so far of base with the Aikman injury thing it's funny. MD quit OU then transferred, then quit S. Miss after he found out he would lose a year of elig.
I don't even know the kid and I'm make excuses. No, all I've done is state why he MIGHT want to transfer. As for as Marcus Dupree, I guess you didn't read the link I posted. Honesty I could care less about that situation though. As I'm sure Troy Aikman did have some influence on the decision to change offensives but it didn't mention him in the article about Marcus Dupree. [Hidden Content]
this thread is about jj, not marcus dupree . (you're totally wrong about that by the way).you say aikman "surely" had something to do with switching offensive strategies, as if he (aikman) never would have broken his ankle, they would have switched offenses anyway?? lol, makes no sense man. but anyway, pls don't reply back on the aikman dupree situation unless you want to start another thread, because you're just not factual at all about the subject, except the recruiting phase of his career. thanks
Dude do you have a reading problem? I posted this link which has FACTUAL information in it. [Hidden Content]. Then I read Troy Aikman's bio [Hidden Content] and said you are probably right he did have something to do with the change from the wishbone to the I formation then back to the wishbone after he got hurt. So, I admitted you were right as you just want to be an A$$ and argue. Then you are right about this too. This thread is about Jeremy Johnson. So, I've manned up and admitted I was wrong for the second time now. -
