1. Yeah Buddy, Boston Crybabies are next.
 2.
Running a little bit behind schedule. Looks like tipoff will be around 8:20.
I wonder what type of numbers Lil Trueblue will put up. Im predicting 6pts, 3 rebounds, 2blocks and 5fouls ;D ;D ;D
 3. Why won't he put Lil Dove, the J.V point guard (K.Carmen) and the transfer on Varsity? Those 3 need to be starters on Varsity. He needs to do it now. Looks like the "Cornucopia Syndrome" has taken over that program... ;D ;D ;D
 4.
HJ beats 4A Port Lavaca Calhoun 43-41 in the first game of the tournament.
Do you have any stats??

Dove...........on a serious note..........if your son is that talented and is not on varsity I take that as a coach just not wanting to win.............agree?
Wow good question! First, let me state that my son in my opinion still has a lot to learn about the game and I do see improvement. There are coaches who say they  want talent but really don't know what to do with it. It can  become a problem for them  because you don't want to alienate your players & their parents  who have been loyal to you or been in the program longer.  So you have coaches who try and suppress talent. You can't!  But if a kid truly has talent in whatever sport, the truth comes out anyway during play. People begin to question why isn't this kid getting a "burn" with the big boys. Or why isn't this kid playing more on his team. As far as winning, I have a saying when I see coaches who portray certain little habits  "Theres a coach playing not to win." In fairness to some coaches, they are more about teaching their players in certain critical situations, but in most cases I see they are playing "little johnny" to satisfy a booster club member, daddyball, loyalty to the player, co-worker (teacher, etc.) or some parent whispering in the coach's ear. So, to answer your question, I'm still trying to find the answer myself. ;)
Be like Lebron and take his talents elsewhere [IMG][Hidden Content]]
 7. Do you agree that HJ's Zjori Bosha's 8 threes against Anahuac last night was impressive for a freshman?
 8. I thought this topic was about Zjori Bosha?? Let me reiterate, Bosha is the best Freshman in our area. After Bosha its a toss up between that left handed Freshman from Central and Lil Dove...
 9. Also can't forget about the overindulged and pampered 1's that may grow up spoiled, unhappy and unable to handle life’s challenges without daddy. I call these "cornucopia kids" because they expect life to be like a cornucopia, or horn of plenty — providing them with an endless supply of good things they don’t have to work for. "Like starting positions, Jobs, etc, etc, etc" ;) In this age the number of "cornucopia children" ;D has grown to epidemic proportions, although parents would rather not admit this. Children with cornucopia complexes grow up with the expectation, that the good life will always be available for the asking — without effort and without need for personal accountability." When they face the adult world, "cornucopia kids" fail as they are unable to handle challenges, they shaft others, or get fired from jobs or just can't get that job they always wanted, while some are more likely to turn into "Alcoholics or Gamblers." Much of the blame, must be heaped upon the parents. Parents have a tendency to choose to favor or prioritize their children. They expect to get everything they want, when they want it, and complain bitterly if they don’t get it. Because of this, they "shower" their kids with things and favors to make up for it, hoping to ease their guilt. They have little sincere compassion or sensitivity to the needs and feelings of others. They respond only to their own needs and kind!!

Football legs took over, should be an exciting year. Let the talk begin--where you at Kountze and Anahuac!!!
Ill tell you where Kountze is there playing HJ not Bridge City....
But you failed to say that when you played HJ and Silsbee you lost both of those games....
This is what u said in another forum Prior to my post, no one from Kountze mentioned anything about Kountze. They only question the level of competition. Hopefully we get a chance to play your third team in three seasons (Evadale) in the upcoming tournament.  >:( >:(
How can he play for 3 teams in 3 seasons? Thought u couldn't move for athletic purposes...
He has only played for 2 high school teams Evadale and EC now bach at Evadale.
am very familiar with Spurger having carried teams over there and played for years. The will miss Daniel not only as a shooter but as a leader. That being said the young guy they have coaching over there will do a great job of developing the other kids. They have bought in to his system and will come along quickly. The group of kids at Evadale this year are a good bunch of athletes and are successful in all sports.I watched them quite a bit this summer and they hold there own against most schools but the "basketball" clubs give them trouble. You give a good coach 2 really good players (McGallion and Whittacre) at the 1-a level and he'll win alot of games. My biggest concern with Evadale and their new 6'7" center would be team chemistry.I hope everything goes well for him this season but he left Evadale disgruntled as a soph, left EC mid season as a Jr. and left HJ before playing a game. The average fan would have to be skeptical , don't you think I can see were someone from the outside could be skeptical, but if you could know these kids that just not the case. He has played with this group of boys for10 years, and they all respest eash other and they all look to him for leadership , the fact is that they came to him this summer and talked him into comming back and play with them should say something. He was not disgruntled when he left Evadale , just wonted to play with a bigger club to get more exposure. And as far as not beeing physical, last year was the first year to play center, he had played guard and farward his whole life, so the physical play will come this year. He went to camps to work on that this summer. But his lenght did make match up prob. for clubls last year. In the Hardin games last year they had 4 players foulout trying to play him. But we will have to all wait at least 5 more weeks untill we can find out what kind of team they will have. They have at least 4 more football games to play. If this isn't for athletic purposes then i don't know what is.

Like u didn't already know that  ;)
huh? Injured? Those were 7th graders who beat those older kids by a WIDE margin..I repeat, 7th graders!!!!!!!!!!! Injured? Really! Oh okay1
Yes, Injured!! His hip was bothering him from the beginning. He played like 2 mins, and you know your boys are way older then Josh Boyd (12yrs old) a 6th grader.
I wish people know their facts. LITTLE Boyd is older than my 2015, who is now 13.
Probably most of this bantering doesnt matter.  I cant tell you how many years I have watched "the next superstar not make the high school team or not even try out and, at the same time, some seemingly uncoordinated kid who isnt even noticed in elemnentary school seems to blossom by the time he gets to high school.
The one way to gauge is by playing the top players in the nation. See where you stand among your own peers in your class.
Dove_ i was speaking of elementary school kids.  Have personally witnessed a number of kids who absolutely dominated at certain levels and then were so-so at best later on.  Most of them did not blame someone else for their circumstances.  But there were/are a few who sincerely believe they were one step away from the NBA if others had not mistreated them.  Sort of too bad because their offspring are likely to embrace the thoughts/values of the parent(s) and that failed approach becomes self perpetuating.
Thats not the only thing that will be self perpetuating. Can't leave out the 1's who sincerely believe they don't have to work hard or earn anything because of "Who they are and Who they know." That too is also sort of bad because their offspring are more likely to embrace those same thoughts and values of their parents.

The other 3 you have to draft are role players ;D ;D ;D I can see it now when its their time to play Varsity ball. 23. Where do the 8 3's by Bosha rank him on the Hj "Most 3's made in a single game"  I know Coach Davis holds the all time record there in a season, history and maybe state. I know Josh Freeman, and Coach Davis was up there but don't know the exact number of 3's were made in a game. If he didn't break that record, i know he most certainly broke it for the most 3's made by a Fresman!!  Way to go Zjori Bosha *aka* "Lil Penny"  ;D ;D ;D
