1. Chris Bosh will join fellow All-Star free agent Dwyane Wade with the Miami Heat, ESPN reported Wednesday. The report said Bosh would leave the Toronto Raptors and sign with the Heat, forming a susperstar tandem that could also attract LeBron James from Cleveland. The announcement from the players could come later Wednesday, the report said. According to the report, Bosh likely will join the Heat in a straight signing and receive $96 million over five years. The report said the Raptors were unhappy about Bosh's use of the media throughout the process and probably won't facilitate a sign-and-trade that would have netted Bosh $125 million over six years. The report said Bosh had told James that he would play with him anywhere except Cleveland, where James spent his first seven seasons. The Heat have enough salary cap room to sign two max free agents in addition to Wade, who would remain with the team that drafted him in 2003. It was reported that James will announce his free agent destination on ESPN on Thursday night :o
 2. And you know it ;)
 3. Kobe Bryant has the index finger of an 83-year-old man, We all remember Kobe Bryant's(notes) 6-24 shooting performance in Game 7 of this year's NBA finals. It wasn't a very good shooting performance, obviously, as he didn't make very many shots but continued to take shots. Basically, it was the very definition of a bad shooting performance, and I heard that Kobe Bryant's face will be added next to that phrase in a completely nonexistent dictionary of basketball terms. However, while Kobe's shooting wasn't so great, it's pretty easy to forget that he was playing with a severely injured right index finger, also known as the finger most important to shooting. When you remember that little factoid, making any shots with a completely retooled release is impressive. But that's Kobe Bryant for you — doing whatever he can to perform at a high level. As it turns out, that dedication might have cost Kobe a finger. No, it's not like he's going to lose it, but it's definitely going to be a pain in the hand for the next 50 years of his life. For Bryant, the sacrifice for success could well be visible for the rest of his career in the form of something that is not another championship ring to go around his finger. He might never play again without wearing support for his damaged right index finger. The middle knuckle on that critical finger on Bryant's shooting hand is so debilitated by arthritis after the past season of misuse and overuse that there may be no real way to fix it. Bryant will consult with specialists in July to figure out his options, but arthritis is not a problem that can just be cleaned up with arthroscopic surgery or wished away with a little rest.Yikes. The old broken finger that turns arthritic is never fun, especially in the two very similar fields of NBA basketball and blogging. We've lost a lot of good men out there, mostly from arthritic fingers.Seriously, though, playing through an injury is hard enough for anyone in any sport. But playing through an injury to your index finger on your shooting hand in a sport that requires constant use of that finger and hand? That's definitely not amoré, Dino. That's constant pain 82 times a season, plus the playoffs, for another five years, at least. Like I said before, yikes.
 4.

I just read this thread last night and something came to my mind.  I remember driving through Gilbert Lake Estates a couple of months ago ( I have some interest in moving to that area), and was trying to gauge if the addition had many children.  One of the things that I look for is basketball goals in the driveways.  To my surprise, I saw very few.  Does this mean anything?  Is there a restriction against it?   I don't know, but I may drive out there again and see if anything has changed. I remember when growing up, we had "open gyms" to play in, but, we played more in the neighborhood driveway than we did at the gym.  Why?  The drive way was always open, you could shoot anytime you wanted and there always seemed to be enough interest in the neighborhood to have at least a 2 on 2 going.   Does this happen out in the Hamshire Fannett area?  If not, this could be one of the major reasons that the HS program has not had success lately.  In my opinion, kids need to play the game as much as possible.....it will only make them better and the best place to start is in the driveway.  Also, practice what your coach teaches you or wants you to learn "in the driveway".  This will have you better prepared for the basketball season (as well as some strength training and agilities). JMO :)
Good post!!!
Great post!! Because every time i pass thru Fannet or Cheeks, all i see is alot of kids riding horses or roping calfs. Very rare do i see those kids throwing a football around or shooting hoops. I'm assuming their rodeo team is awesome.
 5. This guy is going to look like a genius. Think about it. H.F is about to be very, very, strong in Basketball and Football in the upcoming years.Have ya'll not noticed their 6th thru 10th grade class. Those kids have skills and size already. Jordan Hunter and his crew will definitely be able to play with the best of'm in Basketball. And in football that Kendrick King is gonna do the same for their football program. Those two guys combined with guys older and younger then them will make up for some special teams.
 6. Just like those kids across those tracks didn't have anything to do with all that success Hj has been having since the Rebels became the Hawks ;D Seems like all the props goes to you and the coaches and players from that town off of 105  ::) Jordan said it best,"Players win Championships" not coaches or GM's!! I didn't see those coaches or assnt coaches playing with a broken nose, badly sprained ankles, the Flu, and stomach viruses ;)
 7.
Are there any pending press conferences in Hardin County?
Stay Tuned!!
 8. Nope. Keep me posted though...Scalabrini? Lmao

But dont count em out just yet. They have a lot of talent. Just watch.
We will be fine this year 8)
I watched all games today at WB and i was truly amazed by Png's quarterback. This guy is the real deal. Ozen Qb was also real nice. He's gonna be something special. Probably the best athlete on the field. I must admit that Central's defense is intimidating. They are big, fast and very athletic. This is gonna be a very interesting district next year.
 10.
Since high school basketball season is over  :'( for a lot of our kids, I'm sure there will be many of our senior ballers who aren't getting the scholarships after their senior season is over. I do know there are some players in the past who were being told they were better than what they really were (HJ AHEM!). Anyway, this is the time to get these kids to attend the unsigned senior games and get exposed to college scouts from JUCO, D1,11,3, ETC. There is one coming up in Belton, Tx and one in Houston. I think it's a great opp to get your name out there. If you don't have that D1 schoalrship from Texas or Oklahoma by now,  it probably ain't coming. Look for other avenues.
11.
Let's hear your predictions.  Here is mine! Celtics win this one 98-93.  Big game from Ray Allen.  6 3's and scores 26 tonight!!
I love your predictions. Its says alot about you
 12. What offense does Png run? Didn't Livingston running game put up big numbers against every team in the District?
 13. Since we're on what "I heard" I heard Ozen is gonna win that district this year ;D
 14.

Ohh, so we now changed it to Best Offense and Defense... :D :D Ok.  PN-G will have the best offense, but barely though.  Like SASQUASH22 said, Harmon will need to be replaced, which I don't think they will.  That kid was pretty good.  Offense will be: 1. PN-G - Second year under that system.  Exited to see how it will look! 2. Livingston - Since they have been in the district, they have had not many problems moving the ball, IMO 3. Central - Athletes, and more athletes.  Sounds like ingredients for big plays all the time. 4. LC-M - I beleive Gonzalez will be back and that all district reciever 5. Ozen - Hearing great things about Ozen for next year.  Since Ozen is running the same offense as WB, I see them finally doing something 6. Nederland - The QB contraversy continues.  Also, I have not heard anything about a RB over there. 7. Vidor - Big 3 gone 8. Lumberton - No Hanna, Beard, and Hussey?  Don't even think about it!
I would have put LCM at 2nd because they showed brief signs of greatness last year and if they put it together this season they easily compete for the top spot for offense with PNG. I would put Livingston at the 5th spot.
I heard Ozen Qb is really impressive. They're expecting big numbers from him in that offense.
 15.
PNG. Didn't we finish with the #1 D last year?
Png should win this district easily then since they have the best O & D!!
 16. Is Central's D the best in the district? Is Png offense the best in the district?
 17. Naw, just to early in the day to be entertaining B.$ :)
When did this happen? Enlighten me.
Right before the two 3a player of the year, and 3 1st team All-Staters arrived. Right before they was put on the map. Right before they were bragging about their record the last 4 yrs. Thats when it happened ;)
Right before they was put on the map.  Who is "they"?  If you are talking about HJ...........HJ has been on the map for a loooooooooong time.  If "they" is Sutherland........he was on the map looooooooooong before he came to HJ?  How many all staters has kountze had over the last few years?  Yet the coach can get credit over there and it is ok..........but when they get credit here it is only because they had 3 all staters.  Wake up!!!!
Lets compare how many of both school all-staters was doing what Devin was doing yesteray. How many press conferences has been held over there for those all-staters. Its a fact that Joubert all staters have those days every year during school. I've been watching the news for years. But hey, it must ne the system and not the players ;)
Go ahead and compare the all staters.   Here is where your lack of basketball knowledge will be uncovered.  You are speaking of Ryan Donahoe, Jarvis Benard, and Jacoby Turner.  By the way..........what I am about to type are facts.......not opinions. Ryan Donahoe- Had a FULL scholarship offer from SFA on the coaches desk at HJ.  Why did he have this offer?  An HJ coach had an old friend who was on the SFA staff and they had no interest.  He said come see him for me.  The assistant came and two nights later the head coach was there.  Ryan was offered the scholarship and told he would have a chance to start the next year for a team that was at that moment in time the best team in the Southland.  Ryan took the advice of an AAU coach and held out for bigger offers.  Never got them and now he is at a JUCO. Jarvis Benard-  Jarvis was a 5'8 shooting gaurd who was a great player in high school.  That coach contacted the same people at SFA along with others in the southland.  No interest.  He also contacted San Jac(coach there was a personal friend) who came and watched him play several times but ultimately was not interested.  Jarvis ended up with Donahoe at a JUCO in kansas because of the HJ coaches relationship with a former LSCPA assistant. Jacoby Turner-  Not truly interested in playing basketball but would if he couldnt play bball.  Currently has 4 basketball workouts setup with JUCO's because the HJ coaches set them all up. Anything else? P.S.  Besides Ryan Donahoe the other two all staters you speak of are a dime a dozen in the Houston area and that is a fact!!!!!  Great players on the 3A level but would have been just another guy in Houston or Dallas.
Nope, dont care about any of that nonsense ::) Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend ;)
