Not looking ahead but Robinson could be a test in the 2nd round. They score and pass a lot. WO-S has played so many Slot T teams the secondary really hasn't been tested. Not that thier not up to the challenge, just saying they hadn't faced a real good passing team yet.

given that is if Robinson beats Caldwelland WOS takes care of business Thursday.

Yes Robinson is scoring a lot of points but they are like Gilmer and give up a ton of points.Remember...Offense wins games but defense wins championships.Thier passing will be a test for us only if they can give the qb time.

Good grief!  Maybe the district committee can put together an all-star team from the rest of the district just to give WO-S some competition.  It's just too easy.

I'm thinking about a 50ish point win, and that's because the backups will see lots of PT.

We usually have at least one team to test us but in the end they don't.Silsbee  would give us some good games and beat us one year but now they are D1.Next year will be their chance sense we will lose just about everyone but that has happened in the past and we just reload.Backups getting a lot of playing time this year is going to help though.

  3. This is just an educated guess at this point by most but here is what the first round might look like.

    Top bracket:

    W9 Lorena vs F10 Gonzales

    R12 HJ vs T11 Tarkington

    W10 Giddings vs F9 Salado

    R11 Shepherd vs T12 Liberty

    Bottom bracket:

    W11 Bellville vs F12 OF

    R10 Caldwell vs T9 Connally

    W12 WO-S vs F11 Madisonville

    R9 Robinson vs T10 Columbus

Madisonville and Tarkington are toss ups so they could switch places.

I hate beating up on Orangefield but they are our district mates. One thing for sure, the sportsmanship will be top notch Friday. Both our boys respect each other. Also, a lot of the Bobcats parents are WOS alumn. Hopefully we both get out of the game injury free and make good runs in the playoffs. This is the only week I won't support the Orange and White. But around 10pm or so, I'll be behind the Bobcats 112%.

I'm with you on this Kicker.Always been and OF fan except when they play us.

  5. He keeps repeating 271 yards offense,37 minutes and 60 possessions but he fails to recognize it only delivered 7 points.Pretty good defense just to allow 7 points if you ask me.I'm through with this.

  6. Bottom line is if you don't score you have to give the ball up.With all of that time of possession HJ only scores 7 and WO-S scores 32.Like I said before, any team with a big O line that just pushes the line forward for the running back to gain 4,5,yards can move the ball on WO-S.The key is WO-S will finally stop you in most cases and you have to give the ball back to them.Almost a 4 score win with limited plays is not a close game.

Right, I see your point. The Liberty game did nothing to let our offense run their routes, and throw at will because, Liberty played a little league style running attack. Ball control etc., I imagine that can frustrate a high-power offense like the Mustangs’ have. Our defense always can make plays and stay mentally sharp. I would like to see the thoroughbreds get lose for three quarters, Mad respect for OF though...

Yeah we had the ball for what 5-6 series and about 10 minutes the entire game. Not much work for the offense.Hey that relates to a little over 3 points a minute. Not bad.
