Probably. But the same can't really be said for 3adownlow, where WO-S leads the poll with 69%. Guess what? POLLS, STATS, PREVIOUS SCORES, RANKINGS, POTENTIAL D1 STARS, etc. MEAN NOTHING at this point! I remember when WO-S had THE best defense in 4A about a decade ago. We had seven or eight shutouts. Did a LaMarque team that was having a "down year" care? Nope. They pulled the upset.
Yep.Depends on what board you go to.But your right about the 3Adownlow board,a little more diverse.Your also correct...MEANS NOTHING.
 2. Just now caught up.Wow already 21 pages. I would think Coldspring would have a little more concern about this game than WO-S has due to their lack of offense the past three games.Don't get me wrong,WO-S is concerned also but I think they fell they are playing better at this point.Coldspring is winning with their defense.Three teams have kept their offense in check but were unable to find a way through Coldsprings stout defense. Can WO-S find a way? They certainly have the talent.I'm not going to predict a score but if each team preforms the way they have to get here it could go either way.The team that wins on special teams, turnovers, keeps penelties down and such will win this game.I hope it's my Mustangs.
 3. Speveto. Mustangs don't shiver. They just respect. We not scared to play anyone. We welcome it if it happens.
 4.
Bullard will play their hearts out. They will show alot of courage. They will never stop fighting. Sometimes in the third quarter WOS will have a 50 point lead. At this time the 9th. and 10th. grade will take over and score some more.  And it`s own to "YOU KNOW WHO". It`s  not my fault that Bullard only played "2A" teams early in the season.
Beat two playoff teams and they are were not 2A.Was picked to finish last in their district, came in second. This is the kind of team you never take light.Trust me.
 5.
I, for one, have been surprised by the lack of explosive offense by Coldspring.  I know that there have been injuries and illnesses with O players.  It makes me wonder how deep CS is and how solid their O line is.  After all, this is a new O line this year, used to playing inferior teams in district (with the exception of Huffman).  I hope they are learning each week and becoming stronger.  I know that defense wins championships, but you've got to score points.  I support you CS as the representative of 22 3-A.  I hope everyone is healthy and that you have a great game Friday night!
Teams that have a good offense tend to blow out inferior teams. That sometimes gives a false reading of how potent that offense is.Coldspring has played two pretty good defensive teams that kept their offense in check.Coldsprings strength is their defense.A good defense will, but not always, win the day.WO-S  on the other hand has blowed out two teams that had no defense so by the same token they give off a false reading.WO-S also has a good defense. That's why I hope both teams win this week.Highschool football is screaming for this matchup.
 6. I think Coldspring will take this one.Should be easier than thier last two outings.Coldspring has had two talented teams take them to the wire but found a way to win.Credit their defense on outstanding play.
 7.
Bullard is the ultimate underdog, for sure. They were picked to come in last place in their district and ended up taking second place to Chapel Hill. They were no where near as athletic as Robinson, but led that game, at one point, 50-27. They aren't big and aren't fast, but they feel like they are a team of destiny and that is a scary thing and they will make you pay for mistakes. The Mustangs have to be focused and continue to play the way they have. They have been playing with a lot of heart as well. We cannot have turnovers, thats what Bullard used to seperate from Robinson. This game is scary to me just because Bullard believes they are a team of Destiny. They think they are going to win and they aren't intimidated by us. We have to come out and play worthy of the 3rd round. If we do that, I think we win. If we don't then they will slay another giant.
Right on Gas.This team has nothing to prove. They will be loose.
 8. Was this the game where we did the old guard around play.I can still see that play in my mind as if it were yesterday.
 9.
Texaggies07 you are my hero, not everyone can amass -333 in "BAD" karma, I don't know what I've got to do to catch up without getting banned ;D
Trigger not doing bad either.BTW...have not seen Trojandad posting on the low.Always liked to read his informative post.Hope he is ok.
 10. OK.Coldspring was held to 7 points by a good BC team.# 2 Wemberly took 2 overtimes to beat a 3/7 team. Are they overrated also...No.Just tells me that both teams are beatable...like we all are.
 11. I want to see a good win no doubt but I'll take any kind of win from here on out just to get to the quarterfinals...if you get my drift. ;)
 12.
WOS vs Columbus Does anyone have the Columbus schedule and who they have played to compare? Comments and pre-game discussions.
68, see my reply to kicker in the game time thread.Columbus doesn't seem to have much.
 13.
Anyone know anything about Columbus? I believe I heard that Smithville dropped a last second touchdown to lose. What ya think?
Just a quick glance at Columbus. Record with last night win,5-6. Their 4 wins previous were,48-0 over Needville.Don't know their record but they did not make the playoffs. 43-41 win over a 4-6 Wharton team,14-11 win over a 2-8 Royal and 18-12 win over a 2-8 Stafford.Their win against Smithville 21-14 was a pay back from a sept. 30th loss of 23-17. Their losses came from Yoakum,Rics Cons.,19-16,22-14.I don't know anything about them.Their other losses were from good teams such as Gonzales ( 10-0 ) 41-27,9-1 Bellville 42-0 and 8-2 Sealy 52-27.So they really haven't done anything except for their win over Smithville.Cleveland was a much better team.
 14. The bottom half of the bracket which Kville is in is loaded. You probably get Athens 1st round and that will be winnable. After that 10-0 Fairfield then the winner of Coldspring 10-0/BC 8-2 or Bellville 9-1/Giddings 7-3.Good luck.
 15.
Cleveland beats the Horns and then look out[s] Mustangs[/s].We get those mighty Mustang.
Fixed it fer ya. ;D
 16.
I think Giddings may win D1
Navasota is big school in that district and they are in regardless if Giddings beats them this Friday.Giddings goes D2.
 17.
The stangs offense has not been consistent this season so I wouldn't be surprised to see the offensive starters play more than most expect. Hopefully they can carry the momentum from the silsbee game into the first few drives of this game to get some early points on the board so that some of the younger players can get some pt. I'd honestly like to see the back up qb Rutledge get in the game. Defensively I think that the stangs will have more back ups in than the offense. Most of our injuries have been with the defense so this gives them a chance to heal up for the play offs.
Should be able to rest a few players.I would sure limit Lindsey's time. The way he runs he's prone to injuries. As for as the offense they still need all the snaps they can get imo.
 18. Been looking at how region 3 may look. The bottom half bracket is the toughest. Two of the better teams will go down first round.I know it's not official yet but Coldspring 10-0 vs Bridge City 7-3,Bellville 9-1vs Giddings 7-3.Fairfield 10-0 should win their game against Waco Connally. The upper half looks a little more even.Unlike the bottom half where Coldsprings is clearly the team to beat the upper half does not have that iron clad favorite that I can see.So it looks possible that my Stangs could get as far as the quarterfinals before facing the favorite. P.S. Thats what I thought last year too by the way. ::)
 19.
D1 -  Silsbee.      D2 -  WOS.
I see what you are saying. D1= done in 1st round D2= done in 2nd round ;D ;D
 20. Coldspring has a real shot the way they have been playing.Only a few times teams that are picked to take state ever make it.Coldsprings has the talent to stop those who are getting all the attention.Look at Brownwood last year.It was a given by most, nobody was going to stop that machine...but it happened.Coldspring is in a good spot to take this thing because they are not getting the hype others are and that's how a lot of teams find a way to win it all.
 21. When's the last time you won a district title? People want be able to say that as a jab for awhile.Congrats from WO-S.
 22.
Salter does a pretty good job of running when it's designed for him to run. He doesn't do as well improvising, like when the play is a pass and he needs to tuck it and run. Looks like he struggles making that decision.
I think your right Gas when I look back .Been a few times he could have made some yardage and first downs but he looked real undecided in his running.
 23. You know the teams that should be there but how many times do we see one or two of the teams that look unstopable not make it to the finals or even go out early. Gilmer,Brownwood for two.You know the saying...anything can happen in the playoffs, that's why you just want to get in. :)
 24.
the late hit was the only one i think was missed. WOS looked pretty good on offense too. having lindsey healthy was huge hes a great player. Our defense is one of the best ive seen and they tore us apart.
The refs were pretty bad for both sides.Silsbee went toe to toe the first half.It wasn't until late in the 4th that they had any positive yardage the second half.I had said early I would rather Salter not run the ball but he did a good job when he did Friday.
