I got Friendswood in a very very close one Friendswood - 28 WOS - 24
I just read your signature..... Might need to change it when posting on a WOS topic. ;D
Good catch sports guy. ;D
 2. Gives your team a lift coming back the way they did.Bragging rights. That's about all.
 3. Even though we lost I was pleased with the way we played. This team will get much better and if you beat them,It's going to be early in the season.
 4.
Nonetheless, regardless of the somewhat controversial ruling, it certainly doesn’t diminish the effort the Bulldogs put into their near miraculous comeback from an early fourth-quarter deficit of 20-7.West-Orange-Stark’s Cornel Thompson, who made his debut as legendary coach Dan Hooks’ successor before the crowd of about 8,500, certainly won’t dispute that. “We weren’t able to put it away,” said Thompson. “We played hard, and we played well for the most part, but there were some plays on which we had poor execution. “We gave up a couple of big plays coming down the stretch, and you can’t do that and survive against a good team. We had them (the Bulldogs) on the ropes, then we let them up.
That pretty much says it all.Congrats Ned.
 5.
A big time Ned fan almost sold me on the Bulldogs chances for tonight.  I think both teams will be leaning heavily on their defenses in this matchup.  If Ned can avoid a bunch of 3 and outs, I'll give the Dogs a 10-6 victory.  If not, 30-10 Stangs and the saga continues.  Ned did do itself some good by not doing spring ball and had an extra week on scrimmages to get ready.....
Yeah.Ned is selling hard but I'm not buying it.Granted they have a lot back on defense but just three on offense.I will say those three are players.Just not enough selling points to make me want to buy.Look for a slow start for the Mustangs as always and take charge in the second half.
 6. Well if the problem is the kids not produceing like they are capable of,CT can fix that.If you are not giving the effort that you can, coach T is the wrong coach to be under. :)
 7. If wo-s was to use the old offense I would go with them.Changing to the I makes it anyones game.Have to wait and see how we do because the I doesn't seem to be the way to go.Ofcourse I'm not the coach so what I think don't matter. ;D
 8. Ok.Where have I been because I have no idea what the pistol is???
 9.
who will be the first person to say "THE SCORE DOES NOT COUNT, IT`S ONLY A SCRIMMAGE"
Speveto, you know that scrimmages are just to evaluate players and tech stuff. No one ever worries about the score. ;D
 10.
The difference between WO-S and other teams in the area is that, other teams players reach their peak at those younger ages, while WO-S continue to get better year by year.
I can't believe you think that only the kids that go to wo-s have the ability to get better after a certain age. ;D
 11.
Ya just gotta like a guy named "Bubba"
I call my big brother Bubba, but he will not let anyone else call him that.Others call him by his given name but when I do, it just doesn't sound right. R.I.P Bubba Smith.
 12.
I think the new offense will serve WOS well.  I have talked/read some folks that think otherwise.  Our last "successful" season consisted of a ball control offense and a defense that was second to none.  It seemed that the offense got better in playoffs. I love WOS and trust/hope that this is the right move.
I guess success is in the eyes of the beholder. What goal does a team have to achive to be called successful. Some would consider a 500 season good.Others...winning district or just making the playoffs would work and anything after that would just be iceing on the cake. Why is it that WO-S fans and others ( not all ) have to have at least three rounds deep or better to say that WO-S had a successful season? Some say WO-S has not been successful in 3A because they have not won state yet.Sense you didn't define successful Stangfan I thought I would rant a little and i'm not saying you are in any of the groups above.I agree about the ball control but there has only been a few seasons that WO-S IMO has not been successful.
 13. I'm not going to try and second guess coach T.We have gone to the I on and off in the past and did pretty well with it.I'm sure the coaches will tweek it to take advantage of our speed.I don't see them abanding the spread altogather.
 14.
So GUNHO, why do you think no changes need to be made?
It's simple for me.I don't think it's broke,so don't mess with it because you might just break it in the process. ;D
 15.
I'd like to ask a question. West-Orange, without question, will run the table in District for years to come. But for the last few years we have been at least 1 and done in the playoffs. Now I agree that we have a legendary coaching staff, but you don't think a little change needs to be made? Or are we happy with just local bragging rights and making short runs in the playoffs?
What changes would you recommend?
 16.
A legendary era is over! I do wish whoever has to fill these monstrous shoes, the best of luck.. They'll need it  ;). I will say, WOS will be very powerful again this next upcoming year, however I don't see them as a state championship type of team anymore..
Dan Hooks would be the first to tell anyone that WO-S was not built by him along. He has great coaches under him that deserve much of the credit also.As long as they promote from within and don't bring in someone from the outside that would want to change things WO-S will be fine.
 17. HOPE?...this should be a done deal.If not coach T then coach Toby for sure.I'm sure coach Hooks has given the school his opinion as well.If the school doesn't replace from within I'll have to rethink my support of this school. They can't be that dumb.Opps, can I say that.
 18. Tom Landry...Now there's a name anyone would like his name to be mentioned with.Congrats to coach Hooks.

 20.
COUNT ON IT
It's where you finish, not where you start that counts Skip. Can you say Brownwood. ;D
 21.
They should be with 33 starters returning (60 letterman) and 15 of them being 1st team all-state. ::)
Been talking to Coop Aggie. ;D
 22. Bring back the Doooooooom.Greastest place in Texas to play. That is all.
 23. I'm late but here is my thoughts. If you were to tell me before the game that BR would score 24 points I would have no concerns because I would expect WO-S to score in the 30's at least. I said that one man would not beat WO-S and that it would take a team effort.Even though Williams had over 200 yards and he made it look easy that is all BR had. WO-S seemed to move the ball between the 20's all night and then would shoot themselfs in the foot time and time again.I agree with Gas that a little more effort at certain times would have helped. You never know when a good team is going to have a bad night. That's why they say anything can happen in the playoffs. I still think WO-S has the better team in the long run but BR was the better team Friday without a doubt.I also agree with Gas that our weak district gives us a false sense that we will steam roll in the playoffs. Never the less, I'm very pround of these kids and the reason goes without mentioning. These kids did give 112%.
 24. Good win Kville. We all can't have easy wins in the playoffs and a good team finds a way to win. I don't know what the big deal is here about Kville not playing well.Didn't sound like they were in trouble at any point of the game. They jumped out in front early and stayed there. This is the playoffs and after the first round it gets a little tougher.
