My fault for not knowing the rules, but I guess what I was getting at was LU needs to figure a way to get other teams that would keep fans in the stands. I still say if you continue with what your playing, that in 3 to 5 years you won't be getting 15k to games IMO.
maybe they schedule pote neches to keep your attention
 2. i've said from day one..the wac sucks..if wee go anywhere it should be sunbelt/somewhere southern that has just a tad of appeal there will be shakeups in the sunbelt as for the fcs/fbs....we had a good year..WITH GREAT WEATHER! (altho there was a lot of whining about the heat...then the 2 cooler games that werent sold out)..you ever hear gaggies or shorthorns bitching about the weather? might wanna see what happens during a normal LU season with at least 2 thunderstorm games...and see what happens when the 3 year commitment tickets expire

The WAC isn't going to crash.  If no western schools join then that leaves room for Lamar, SHSU, and others.  It's just a matter of time before the WAC morphs into a southwest conference.  If Lamar wants to go FBS then they join the WAC, unless there's a major shakeup among the conferences then there's more opportunity for Lamar. A few months ago Tidwell said he thinks there's going to be some major changes coming to the CUSA, Sun Belt and other conferences.  I think there's a good chance that will happen.  Either way, Lamar has a another year or two to prepare for a move to a FBS conference.  It could be the WAC, the Sun Belt, who knows, but it's probably going to happen.
Coach I like a lot of what you say but I wish I was as optimistic as your are.  I think the WAC is in trouble.  The western schools no doubt want a minimum number of schools in that region to have a west division that makes sense for them economically and from a rivalry standpoint.  They just keep getting stymied on potential schools to join.  I think that is ominous to the future of the conference.  Don't know how this is going to play out, but I hope that something develops with the Sun Belt for LU.  That is my opinion now of what is best for LU.
this i what i've been saying (and getting blasted for) since the first mention of the WAC
 4.
what was the reason he was kicked off the team??? definitly dont need any problem starters on the team... Garret for RB and Prewitt/JJ Combo for QB... I think both will get there fair share of playing time at QB... Leave Bevil at WR where he ended up last year...
dope, 2nd time
 5. give him bourn or fat carlos' spot....
 6. whoever starts...i would expect a very short leash...

 8.
I'm convinced that ACU belongs, baseball wise. Their football stadium is right on par for SLC standards, playing at Shotwell Stadium. Their baseball stadium is above the level of most SLC stadiums, very similar to the Beck minus the turf. I don't know much about their basketball program. UCO's basketball program has been outstanding of late, LU knows that very well as they were close to hiring their basketball HC.
uco lost to Incarnate Word in football..along with most everyone else they played...
 9.
Did a little research and since I am a relatively new comer to Bmt.  Moved here in the fall of 83.  From 83 to 89 last six years of football LU played SHSU three times and SFA twice.  From 83-84 basketball through the 97-98 seasons (last year in the Sunbelt) LU played SHSU three times and SFA once.  They played San Jose St twice I believe.  So where are these long time rivalries?
USL, McNeese, arkie st, UL-M and la tech..
 10.
Really???  This is about exposure??? Really???  This is about having a better shot of having our alma mater's name on the bottom of a ESPN crawl during football season??? Really???  No matter that the crawl reveals a 4-6 touchdown beating that it had handed to it.  Really???  You're worried that Texas State and UTSA would be considered "better schools" because they have that and Lamar doesn't??? Really??? LU would have "exposure" by popping up in such huge media markets as Logan, Utah, Boise, Idaho, or San Jose, CA??? Really??? I can see Chris, Lee and Herby salivating right now.
not boise,  but that monster market in Moscow, Id,(pop 23,000) ...and las cruces, NM..whoopee Idaho..best known for their poor attendance Feb. 2010 "•Last season every team in the WAC crossed over the 15,000-person threshold except for one: the Idaho Vandals. Getting an average of 12,500 folks to get all claustrophobic up in the Kibbie Dome is quite a letdown for a team that experienced a semi-renaissance last season by not audibly sucking wind. Perhaps the Vandals need to go 1-11 again to get those overall bibs back in the seats."
SFA beat everyone last year except Texas A&M under Texas State (under a 4th Q collapse). NWST went 4-3 last year in the SLC losing only to SFA & McNeese (the top 2 teams) and a loss to Nicholls. And do we really want to talk about SFA beating them when they beat y'all by much worse in the same season?
settle down, jj..thats ecbuc bringing in the sfa score...he's so anti lu, dont know why he bothers posting here
if i only had a nickle for all of his "my source says"... ::)
 18.
No how you feel, but Puddin is awful happy right now!
utah st, idaho, san jose, denver, new mexico st, sacremento st.....san marcos junior college besides a bunch of "who cares", the wac is dying.. we go anywhere, its gotta be more regional/southern than the wac---and that leaves the sunbelt ..one or both of the florida teams are fixing to leave... maybe the WAC to announce, Wac to expand threads will finally go to bed
 19. coincides with lu baseball camp (which coincides with lu football camp) ???

It is a reference to how most young people would not know what it is since it is somewhat obsolete now. Hence the  :D.
formercaveman, I forgot to acknowledge your comment.  I read your smiley face and figured you knew.  I find the young peeps don't know what a transistor is. much less a transistor radio is.  I had to replace my walkman recently and they are becoming hard to find. Wally World had a Sony Walkman that is just right to bring to games, use on a walk or run.
aw man..now you got me looking all over the house for my old black handheld transistor radio with the one ear bud headphone!
