Lets see how full the stadium will be in two years.  The new car smell will wear off of Lamar Football so lets just be happy with what we have.
well, before the season, i figured 3 wins..weber, langston and panhandle.  My kid says he figured out the offense against Weber.."Dad, they have 2 plays...a go route and a hand off."  these chowder heads and wanting to go to the wac...crap..we got the southland, lets play in it and try to win it.
And I hear your kid is a little Deion Sanders...won't tackle, just wants  to make the picks and wear the bling!
The Irish Hammer?  Strong safety now...dudes a headhunter

The SFA game is old news.  I'm not going to discuss it anymore.  Let's have some good practices and come out firing against Prison U.  GO BIG RED!!
How DARE YOU post facts.   :D Can't you see the sky is falling.   ;D
interesting...none of those head coaches are employed

Playing well against McNeese and beating SELA spoiled some fans.
I don't remember you being "laughed off the board". I remember stating before the McNeese game that they had film of Coach Whitten's offense and that they run the same 4-2-5 defense as Lamar. If it wasn't important to study game film coaches wouldn't have to work 6-7 days a week , 12 or more hrs per day. By breaking down the game film into offensive, defensive and special teams. They study tendencies of the other team. What to expect on 1st, 2nd and 3rd down and the distance for the downs and the plays ran for each down and distance. When to expect a run or pass blitz, where the other team is inexperienced or weak. I could go on and on but I never laughed about the importance of coaches having game film to study. Just wanted to clear the air as to what I said before the McNeese game.
I'm not UNLV's biggest fan...but....LU mailed it in....you want to lose fan support?  Field a team that quits.  First year, tenth year, 100th year...doesnt matter..play every paly. and all this game film talk...ok, they have game film of our two plays (go route and handoff)...what did Woodward watch?  certtainly wasnt SFA film... so, boo me, sue me, what the heck..I aint gonna sing kumbaya over what easily coulda been 100+ to 3
 5. I'm still a LU fan, will be at Sam game, and LU quit...SFA coulda, shoulda put 120 on em...

 11.

I find it entertaining to go to the different message boards and see what other fans think of all of this.  On the Sun Belt board they are calling the new WAC the Southland-lite and are laughing.  They look down on any team from the Southland.  UTSA and Texas State think they are better the Lamar even though they haven't accomplished anything in athletics and nobody attends their games.  The other SLC schools think that any school that wants to leave is being a snob. The bottom line is that the SLC gets no respect and is near the bottom as far as conferences go.  There's no money or glory at the FCS level, so even though the WAC seems like a terrible idea, in the long run it may in Lamar's best interest to pursue it.  But if Lamar can't afford to join the WAC then they'll stay in the SLC for a while.
Gets no respect from who?  The Sun Belt?  Who gives a rats butt about the Sun Belt?!!  Isn't SFA ranked 6th in the country in football?  And McNeese is in the top 15 or something and then how many other SLC schools are at least getting votes.  We tried chasing greener pastures in the past and it killed us.  Screw Denver, and Seattly and all that nonsense.
The SUN BUST?  shoot..football powers..combined 5-18 record ytd ::)
 12.
I am quite sure that the folks at SFA are smart enough to not have a "purple out" in a game with someone who has the color purple as their team colors. ;)
Giving em too much credit...I think they just got lucky
 13.

It was suggested on the TXST fan board (by a fan who had ESPN contacts tell him something that was already out in the San Antonio media four days after the fact), that Lamar will be presenting at the WAC meetings next week in Dallas... Any one that can confirm? A shot in the dark perhaps?
My guess is that is a bunch of b.s.  How can it even be possible with a 15,000 seat stadium?
agree w/ wefirst...enjoy the southland, then in a couple yrs we go big 12...take baylor's place, they suck

Denver? Seattle?...whoo hoo!  I'd rather watch paint dry
As far as conference mates, I see it as: LaTech > McNeese, SELU TXST > Sam UTSA > SFA Hawaii > Southland as a whole SJSU, USU, ID = NwST, Nicholls Denver, Seattle = TAMUCC, UTA
La tech= Mcneese Sam> SWTSU hawaii? who cares SDSU,USU,ID---see Hawaii Denver, Seattle=TAmuCC,UTA???  maybe in hockey

 17. me, always hated them all, and USL...but mcneese...they were close enough to partially like, plus good fans, sfa and swtsu...not enough fans to hate..but Sam and the black rose? ...that was getting good when they killed the program.

 19.
THE KICKING GAME NEEDS HELP!   IN COLLEGE YOU NEED TO KICK AT LEAST TO THE 5 YARD LINE OR THE END ZONE EVERY KICK OFF IF YOU PLAN TO TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL.  THE KICKER NOW IS NOT CONSISTENT AND HAS A WEAK LEG, NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL.  HOPEFULLY THEY HAVE SOMEONE ELSE THEY CAN TURN TO FOR THE SFA GAME OR FUTURE GAMES.  NO ONE IS SAYING ANYTHING ABOUT THE PUNTER CAN HE KICK OFF?  THEY NEED TO HAVE ANOTHER TRY OUT FOR THAT POSITION TO HELP THE TEAM. ON ANOTHER NOTE, CONGRATULATIONS CARDS ON A GREAT WIN LAST NIGHT CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU NEXT WEEK AT SFA.
you sure are screaming alot on multiple threads about the kicker....your son get hosed?
 20.
Rushing yardage concerns me. Is it the line? Is it that we don't have quality backs?
not really a game where LU could rush, being down....and the LU spread aint exactlly runner friendly....being new, I think passing is the great equalizer...
