[/quote] after this yrs incoming freshman class...the cupboard is pretty bare-------SAS doesnt look to have nearly as many boys playing as they have in previous years...not saying there is NO talent, just not a bunch...with a 2nd yr coach ...I think Kelly may be headed for some lean yrs.

hopefully it was a  makeup, ...was a real game.  what i meant by no umps --they were calling from behind the mound...locked up bathrooms almost killed me i agree, its a big jump for the field sizes, but i think it good for the kids...

i love youth ball...go to alot of games just to watch some baseball...WE looks to be in great shape...went to watch an amelia game.., looked to be hurting some  ...so i headed out to that big field over by amelia---[b]whoa[/b], major surprise...no umps, no concessions stand, no pa or people even in the pressbox..the bathrooms were locked and the teams were (according to what i overheard) were using the own practice balls for game balls???  Is that the norm for those older kids? did i just hit it on a really bad night?  Went out to sour lake..they had it going on right for the older kids..but that beaumont field..that was kinda sad before i get pounded, let me say i have both coached and umped..unable to ump anymore due to injury and miss it.....[b]am not pointing the finger[/b]..just wondering

how about ..say--- LC-M, orangefield, and then little towns like hardin, then going  up north..batson saratoga...

brother has a kid in pony (in louisianna)..we were talking..who all/what cities around here play LL/pony.. i know..beaumont, nederland,bc,buna,silsbee play LL..sour lake, orange is pony... vidor?  how bout that  field on the way to the beach in high island?  just wondering who all plays what...

and btw...i'm pro League..but pro-all league, not just WE...that is why their "boundaries" irk me..its hurting other leagues..its the simplest, 1st rule of little league and should be followed to the letter. As for the LL vs select making for better players and more upper level and beyond.....do you people realize HOW MANY ballplayers come outta hs  and how FEW get college scholarships?  ::)  The money being spent on the best bat, the best indivdual  coach, the travel...its  insane....TAKE A KID FISHING
