11.
A little piece from Bob West's column today: I’m still shaking my head over the Beaumont Independent School District naming its sparkling new football stadium after its somewhat controversial superintendent Carroll “Butch” Thomas. Why wouldn’t you name a new football showpiece after an inspirational athlete from Beaumont who has gone on to distinguish himself and bring pride  and recognition to his hometown? Somebody like ground-breaking football pioneer Jerry LeVias, a guy who overcame mind-boggling abuse to become the first black football player in the Southwest Conference as a star at SMU. LeVias, of course, went on to a solid NFL career and continues to be involved in community work in Houston. Or Bubba Smith, the only player from Southeast Texas even taken with the very first pick of the NFL draft. Smith, of course, went on to considerable recognition as Hightower in the Police Academy movies. Earlier Beaumont Stadiums were named after sports figures Babe Zaharias and Alex Durley. Why such a self-serving reversal in policy? Levias Stadium has a good ring to it.
No doubt the best post I have read since Iv'e been on this site...Good post Aggie and I'm sure it's the feeling of a lot of folks..(If they would admit it)... ;D

 14. I talked to Coach Alvarez yesterday evening,He said Coldspring was a good football team, with super athletes and will only get better as the season progresses..I asked Him about Newton and He said He don't intend to change much, for the Newton game..He said Newton is gonna come right at you with both barrells..I also asked Him,What does Kirbyville have to do to win...He said"out score'm"..( won't ask that question again)..Gonna be a good game,  GO CAT'S..
 15. Tigers gonna take this one...
 16.
Hard to call this game so early in the season.  Week 10 is much easier to predict than week 2.  Both teams will be ready but IMO the key to this game will be the play of the new QB for Newton.  Losing Flannigan to graduation was a big loss to Newton but they will be ready.  I do have to give the early edge to Kirbyville based off the fact that they have a game and the jitters under their belt.  I know that Coldspring scored alot on Newton in their scrimmage but that was a scrimmage and this is a different ball of wax when these two teams meet up.
Yep.....But it's really a friendly rivalry..Bennet from Newton and Fred Ford are childhood friends,..When the games over we go back to pulling for one another..Hope it stays that way.. ;)
 17.

Friendswood by atleast 24.
I would think so, they have triple the enrollement WO-S has. ::)
We know the feeling... :(
 18. Good win for the Kat's...But One Game Does Not A Season Make..Lot of football left yet to play..And besides been awhile since I remember Newton having a losing season... ;)
 19.
Newton's always tough, but being that K-ville has already played 1 game and this being Newton's 1st.....game has a chance to maybe get lopsided quick in favor of the cats - IMO.  Good luck to both teams! PWB Prediction... Wildcats -- 41 Eagles --  20
:o  wow...lol
 20. Look for Newton to come out smoking in this one...Gonna be a good hard battle either way it goes.. ;)
 21. Looking forward to this game...Always a barn burner.. ;)
 22.

MAY I ASK WHAT PLAYER YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT?
Our right offensive tackle - big kid 6-4 292 has a hurt knee. We plug in a Pearland transfer, 300 lb kid into right guard and slide our 280 pound guard out to right tackle - should be fine.
All that weight ...Sounds like pairings for a Sumo wrestling match.. ;D
