1.
One of the big problem's at Memorial is the parent's are alway's blaming the coaches in front of the player's. Last year at the YMBL basketball tournament Memorial was playing Heritage Christian who had way more talent. It wasn't 3 minute's into the game and Memorial's best player was on the bench in foul trouble. Who did they blame? The coach caught heck the whole game, it was pretty rediculous. Sometime's team's just have more talent and better than the other. But the Memorial fan's blame everything on the coaches and nothing toward's their kid's. A lot of time's coaches are teaching the right thing's but the player's just don't execute. PNG has a 2nd year coach and this season has been a lot like Memorial's. So by no mean's would I think Memorial should be further along than they are. How many of the Memorial kid's parent's spent the money for their kid's training during the summer to help them get bigger, stronger, and faster? Not many, they don't have it near as good as other kid's at different school's.
That's just a sign of times......Coaches are expected to win INSTANTLY...it's "Keeping up with the Jone's"...Coaches arent in control....the admins and the parents are. Coaches CAN'T develop a system....CAN'T get community support...are forced to play their best players out of position....etc. 2 years in and people are already bashing the coach. I'm a Katy guy........people wonder HOW they got the community support, the same system going...etc......it came with PATIENCE......check this out....Coach Johnston took over Katy in 82.......his first 4 seasons he went 8-32....TODAY....NO coach would still have their job if they started 8-32 in 4 years....the next 10 seasons he went 89-29...and everything he implemented is still working today. PAM fans just need to relax, Rome wasn't built in a day.
I understand "the way of life" in PA...I grew up in one of the worst neighborhoods in Houston.  I played against Yates, BT Washington, Jones, Furr, Kashmere, Sam houston, Reagan, Worthing....It is a different life than "the West End"...My kids look at me and have hard time believing their father has been stabbed, shot at, jumped, jacked, I cheated death many times....thank God, he granted me with the courage to be able keep them away from that life...it doesn't mean their "soft"...or "they ain't down"...I told them, I lived the life you'll never have to see, just take my word of advice when it comes to the street.....  When we go to Chicago, where I was born, there certain hair cuts a person may have... you can't drive thru certain neighborhoods with..If I can avoid the neighborhoods, believe me we do...If you got to drive down 26th Street in Chi-Town make sure you don't have a shaved head(that's me, but not by choice ;)).. respect their "Laws"...THAT IS THE LIFE THEY CHOOSE!!.......   I CHOSE a different life.  WESTEND1 probably knows me better than anyone else on this board.  You have to be willing to let go of the street...the street will tell you there's nothing else...there's no hope...People spend their entire life blaming systems and our government for their poverty....you have to learn to fight....fight till you're in tears..., then fight some more!! When all your love one's doubt everything that you're doing keep going, because don't look fast, but you're separating yourself, hopefully in the right direction!...nothing is easy....nothing is free...NOTHING!  at one point or another I believe our society began to feel the world owed them something....and I do believe that is how "ghetto's" were created...you can NEVER deny hard work....NEVER!  The kids in "the West End" work hard, the distraction outside of school...gees, their teenagers, everything is a distraction.  The more excuses one makes, the more wrong the person becomes...excuses will paralyze a man in a hiccup , staying focused and working to achieve your goal, will make a man stronger and a heck of a lot closer to success. ;)
Best post ever.....Hey Sgt Rey...I WENT to Reagan.....lived in one of the worst neighborhoods in Houston....and you're right, YOU have to WANT to be better, most sit back and use it as an excuse.....I made my life better, nothing was given to me, everyone had the same oppurtunity I had. Then when you go back to where you came from, everybody looks at you crazy thinking you're "Acting better than them"......Not sure what this has to do with football, but you are absolutely right.
 3. Fair enough. How much say so does the coaching staff at West Brook have over the feeder/Jr High schools?
 4. Honest question, not stirring the pot....just wanted to know. This is a "From the Outside, Looking in" perspective. Bruins went 3 rounds deep last season, returned basiclly EVERYONE. I expected huge things from WB. The season isnt over yet, but if they lose to PAM, it looks like ANOTHER 3-4 loss season. What's keeping WB from getting over the hump to being an elite team/program? The talent is there, the coaching is there, you aren't losing Kids to new HS's built every year.....what is it?
 5. Faith West has a D1 prospect on the D-Line...not sure how much of a difference he's made by himself. [Hidden Content] Started at Morton Ranch HS, then all of their best players "defected" and some how, legally showed up at Cinco Ranch HS and spent the entire spring there. Mustafa was ruled ineligible and transfered to Faith West......pretty decent player, but then again, I don't know about his supporting cast.
 6.
Titan o-line not blocking anyone tonight
6 games into the season...they are FINALLY seeing a defense.
 7.
Not necessarily, scooter....uhh, NorthShoreSucks!. ;D There is a.......40% chance that Katy could go D2. Morton Ranch, who has the 2nd largest enrollment in 19-5A, is 1-1 in district play. They lost to Memorial, but they beat Taylor. They will lose to Katy and Cinco Ranch, but Seven Lakes, Strake Jesuit, and Mayde Creek are all 1-4 on the season. If Morton Ranch beats 2 of those 3....they're in, along with Cinco Ranch in D1, and Katy will go D2 with Memorial. I've been watching this very closely....and hoping they dont go D1 with us. Be careful what you wish for, you just might get all of Katy you want.
I would say its more of a 70% chance of them going D2 as of today...that all can change though. I doubt Morton Ranch makes the playoffs....it's Seven Lakes you have to worry about. They are 0-2 in district, lost to Katy and Cinco Ranch...almost beat Cinco Ranch.....they have the easiest road now. All they have to do is beat: Strake Jesuit(1-4) Morton Ranch(1-4) Mayde Creek(1-4) Taylor(2-3) Now for some strange reason, Morton Ranch AND Seven Lakes make he playoffs...BOTH Katy AND Cinco Ranch go D2. 1.Seven Lakes 2. Morton Ranch 3. Cinco Ranch 4. Katy that's the order of enrollment. But it's way to early to think about this

There are some good points made from both sides. But you are correct, it is getting a little out of hand with ALOT of smack-talking and such. Although, its very entertaining. ;)
Very entertaining.....everyone trying to force their opinions on others.....never ending battle. They good points are being ignored.
 11. Games against Katy seem to do that to message boards... :)

 13. Question......I didnt go back and re-read every post....but shouldnt stuff like this be "In-house" and not in a newspaper......officials arent even allowed to tell the jersey numbers of kids who commit penalties in a game, but several kids can be called out in a newspaper? this isnt the NFL.

Thats the most points given up by them this season. I agree that WB could play with Katy. I'm just disappointed in the amount of TO's that we gave them. They scored 35 points off of TO's......take that away and the score is much closer. THrow in the fact that Reyes was out for 2/3's of the game, and the outcome might have been different. We were moving the ball well against their defense, and our defense stopped their running game fairly well, too. After I've had some time to think about the game a little, given all the circumstances that happened throughout the game, WB didn't do so bad. The mistakes just killed us. We will be fine, IMO.
Last two scores were 1's vs 3's.....I have a feeling Katy would have made adjustments. Alief Taylor has a 3 year letterman stud QB also. He was 7-12 for 71 yards passing and 2TDs in the first half, also ran for a TD to put Taylor up 20-7. They converted 8 of 9 third downs. In the second half he completed only 1 pass and Taylor had 21 net yards. You need balance to beat Katy. Coach Joseph is a Defensive  guru
Hopefully we'll see each other later....and we'll see if we did not learn or lesson....or maybe we'll be the one's teaching the lesson...til then good luck and stay healthy.
The injury isnt serious is it?
 15. That is awesome!

 17. I for one hate that Reyes went out.....it's like the end of the Soprano's, no one knows what happened, but everyone had an "IDEA" on what would have happened. Katy is known for making great adjustments.......question is...would they have adjusted to Reyes???? we will never know.....Katy had 70 Sr's alone....Brook had less than 50 players total, would they have eventually wear them down with depth in the second half like they usually do? We will never know.....One thing is....everything that happened is a part of football, I don't see anything Lucky about that game. Question is, after getting up so high for the Katy game....how will WB respond? Katy plays games like that week in, week out...they are used to it.
 18.
Katy's defense is good, but they are no better than other defenses that Reyes has faced and had success against.  His first pick was just a bad read.  it happens.   The fumble occurred after he had broken free and run for his third long gainer of the day.   Nice diving strip from behind.  I feel confident that Brook will move the ball this week, and the defense has proved that they can hold thier own against tough running teams.   I look for a strong performance to finish off pre-district.
Trust me....you wont see a better, disciplined, well coached Defense the rest of the season. Last season Katy held WB to 7, No other team did that....Saturday Katy held them to 7 (if you don't count the 2 scores against the 3rd String) and I doubt anyone else will hold WB to under 21 pts.
 19.

Everyone keeps mentioning Westbrook's mistakes. Does anyone know the actual number of mistakes Katy had? I remember two interceptions and at least two or three fumbles. Katy had about the same number of mistakes as WB, but still managed to win. WB will be fine with or without Reyes.
I don't remember Katy losing any fumbles.   They did get picked twice but one was on a bomb where we got it inside our own 10, which was better than a punt.
No fumbles lost......the pick like you said that put WB on the 3....and the pick by the 3rd QB. Weird game.....Katy was on the WB side of the field all night.....sometimes "Mistakes" happen.....sometimes "Mistakes" are forced...I dont think WB's saw QB pressure in the first 3 games. "Mistakes" tend to happen more with pressure. Bruins need to forget about Katy NOW.....Tyler Lee is 0-4, but don't let that record fool you....they are battle tested against some top teams.
 20.
Went to the Katy/West Brook this past weekend and sat on the Katy side due to better seating, and noticed a lot of parents wearing #9 on their shirts and talking about courage. Every time this young man ran out on the field the stands gave him a standing ovation...does anyone know his story? Seems like a great one.
[Hidden Content]

Maybe it's a rule West Brook and other teams are should use....on the bus ride down, they were all handed sheets of paper that had several comments by #44 calling the Oline Slow and Soft, but the one the really ticked them off was Reyes posting "About to beat the WHITE off of Katy"....we all say message boards mean nothing, to us they don't but to teenage, adreinaline filled football players....it fires them up even more. It hasn't been confirmed but several fans believe that when they have a tough opponent coming up they do things like write these notes and pass them out and say the other teams wrote them just to get the boys pumped up. We played a Florida team 2 years ago and there was a black R.I.P. wreath delivered to the fieldhouse with all the Katy's players name on it. It supposedly was delivered by the Florida team and it called us kitty cats and the fieldhouse was a litter box, etc... Kinda suspicious that everytime we have a big game something usually surfaces that the other school did. I don't buy it it's all the coaches trying to get the boys mad and pumped.  It tends to work thou.
Well I just saw it....it's on facebook if you have an account. dosent really matter though.
Lee's played a helluva schedule though, Euless Trinity, Longview and Woodlands I think.
