You have to understand the East of the Trinity logic behind Dayton's reputation.  See....Nederland and PNG have for years bad mouthed Vidor, Lumberton, and others.  With Vidor and Lumberton doing well in recent past, they then became a power-house district, in their own minds.  Now that Nederland is not very good and PNG is playing an overall weak district (only decent thereself), they tout Dayton as being "in a league of their own" because they spanked them for 2 years. The exact thing is now happening to WOS, who used to trash talk Kirbyville like a step-child.  In all reality WOS has only been an avergae team when they get out of their district, much like Nederland, Central, and PNG. Now that Dayton is absent of their multiple Div-1 players, they will struggle as well in 20-4A (struggle meaning top 3 spot).  19-4A is a better overall district than 20-4A and will be for several years to come.  20-4A is declining and 19-4A is on an incline (assuming no major UIL mix-ups). Good thing about it is, for those who watch football more than 1 or 2 years it's fun to speculate and talk our own trash.  In closing, Central and WOS Suck!
Get off Dayton's coat tail and tell me how BH fared againsed anything 20-4a.  Ohh, also tell me what happened when your best BH team faced an average Central team...  :o :o ;D ;D
I feel like I am touring Babe Zaharias museum every time someone from East of the Trinity makes a post.  What you going to do this year?  That's all that matters right now.  You can't hand with Crosby, BH, or Dayton this year..... If you don't stop living the past we are going to have to get you a nice single-wide in Orange to hang your Hebert High trophy.   ;) ;)        As for history, 20-4A has never played one of the better BH teams.  BH's most recent "best team" was side-tracked when our QB tore an ACL in a game he should had been pulled 2 quarters before (40 somehtin to nothing). Now, an average BH team darn near beat your mighty kitty-kats who were sporting a lathargic division-1 QB.  As for team speed, well I think the patton boys proved that to be a pipe-dream.   ;D ;D
Ask Crosby what happened last time Central played them.  And if I'm not mistaken, I think Crosby got whipped by PN-G.  And how dare you mention BH in the same breath as Dayton.    Yes, the 2006 BH team was one of your best.  Undefeated and all (playing watered down competition).   Then when they met a real 4a team, you lose...  Now, you may go back to riding Dayton's coat tail...  ;D ;D
How could I not mention BH with Dayton, we have the same mail lady???????  ;D ;D ;D BH's better teams were during 3A times.  We ran or QB like a daily quarter horse so never saw the potential due to injury.  Dayton is nt all that, yall just have "illusions of grandure" as one put it on here.  I can understand why after watching that purple pony beat yall down for 2 years.

Soulja thinks Central should beat the NY Jets. 4th. Dayton is not as good as 20-4A thinks. 5th Crosby will win district in 19-4A. 6th Anahuac will romp their district 7th WOS Sucks 8th Jasper sucks 9th Kirbyville is the man! 10th Nederland has no bark!

Port Arthur still only has less than 3,000 students even with all high schools combined. Baytown would have over 5,000. PA is a product of poor coaching and no discipline. You can set your watch by it.  As soon as they run into a little turbulence, they throw in the towel and quit. Baytown is not now, nor ever will be, anything like Port Arthur. 12.
I understand the dynamic of the shift in demographics.  I understand the lack of participation. All things being equal, you would much prefer to have pop warner, optimist, ymca, junior highs, etc. that all feed into the same system.  It is much easier to build a program. It's the reason why Olin always flirted with other job offers through the years.  He was constantly looking for a 5A school that was the only school in town, wanting to be in control of the whole operation from pop warner on up.
Where did Olin go?
 13.
Well, if my math is right from 11-Man 1A-5A 544 teams will make the playoffs (128 in 5A, 128 in 4A, 96 in 3A, 48 in 2A (DI), 48 in 2A (DII), 48 in 1A (DI), 48 in 1A (DII) this year and next. If the 6A plan with 4 teams reaching the playoffs out of each region, 768 teams from 11 Man 1A to 5A will make the playoffs.   Is it the "little league" mentality of everyone getting a trophy?  Not hardly.  The bigger justification can be found in Page 15 of UIL Football Manual under Section 1250 (j) of the "Football" Plan which states, "Fifteen percent of the gross receipts of post-district games shall be paid to the [University Interscholastic] League...." For that, you can do the math. They should do a 1-hour special on ESPN during the reallignment announcement.  ;D ;D ;D ;D  Think of the bucks we could make off that UIL.
17.
I truely believe that k-ville would win all the way. Kirbyville had WOS beat last year until a questionable call made by a homegrown ref. made. That team was suppose to go to state in 3A. I feel with k-ville season players vs new faces on wos team. K-ville has more than a good chance of beating wos.  ;D
Kirbyville hands down.

 19.
well i figured i would put my two cents in on this 19-4a  20-4a  hogwash. First of all Dayton has my utmost respect, great colors and great athletes, have to admit they have had our # the last few times we have met thruout the past few years, good quality team. But as for the rest of 19-4a cant really give any respect to them Barbershill praising theirselves for almost beating us last year losing by a point in the first game of which they had 8 turnovers come on, heck your team blocked three of our fieldgoals and you still lost, got beat worse the second time we faced you on a neutral site, Crosby got pummeled not even a contest total blowout. As for the indians this year well some are saying that we will even be better this year in our second year with coach Fairclothe. I dont know what to expect, dont see us going 10-0 but who knows heck that is why we play the game, but i tell you this for that matter dont underestimate the indians or the jags, might take out some punishement on you fellows come playoff time, with the exception of Crosby they will play us the third game of the season, hopefully it will be a repeat of last year : }  Dont get to riled up there Soulja1  it is just preaseason gumflapping thats all, man cant wait for the season to start.
Why would you not go 10-0, considering everyone else in your district sucks?   ;D ;D ;D 20-4A will not win a single game against 19-4A this year.  Tyrone will bet you a hot dog on it.  ;D

Trying real hard to bait me in, huh?  Well, it worked!   ;D Do you really believe that?  Then I find it real funny you say 'compete'.   PN-G and Central would be wining.  It may be a little more difficult beating Dayton, but whoever have crosby will win.  And Dayton is very beatable as well!
I think you mean central would be whining.  Central is over-rated and should not even be in the conversation with Dayton.
You must be a youngster..  You don't remember the last 2 times the Broncos played Central, do you?  In 2006, a blocked extra point with no time left gave you a 1 point win that year.  In 2007, You were holding on to a 13-0 lead for most of the game to only score a TD with 2 mins left. This was a not so good Central team who lost to Ozen and missed the playoffs.  Dayton would have been in over their heads with the 2008 Jags.  You remember, the team that Marched 4 rounds deep in the playoffs.  And if you didn't know, the 2009 Jags were playing for a district title with a very good PN-G team and also marged 3 rounds deep in the playoffs.
WOS won state a few times in the 80's.....LOL  Crosby dismantled 20-4A last year in the playoffs and Dayton, well they just spanked yall on a regular basis.  BH has throttled Lumberton and Vidor so many times I have lost count.  PNG was nealry beat by BH last year and PNG was the district champs.  A few years ago Central had to play their hearts out to beat BH (new to 4-A) in a playoff game with Central having a Division I QB.  Careful sparky, those jags, puppies, and feathered lolly gaggers over there might get a whippin soon!  BH going to start with no bark Nederland! Woof-Woof!  All that history means nottta!

It's only natural that the conversation regresses a bit.  After nearly 500 posts, the topic has been exhausted and you are left with about 10 posters who are killing time until football season by talking crap and joking around.  Not sure what the difference is between this and the "How much does OU suck" thread except that we are more humorous.  Lock the most read thread on the board if you want, I doubt I will lose sleep.
