1. I think if you look at his qualifications from a baseball stanpoint, he is very qualified.  Coach Byrd is a good man and cares about the kids.  I don't know if a change is needed or not, however if there was an opportunity to improve with a high quality person (someone like form CC Calallen, or Moody) then sure. Problem with baseball is the kids that are good are good because of what they do before and after baseball season.  Those that play a few months out of the year just don't match-up with those who play select ball year around.  The player development has to start at home and off the high school campus and continue there.  A high school coach is not going to make a division one pitcher with a few months a year worth of work, nor is he going to teach a kid to lay off a slider when a kids throwing 90 mph heat with it.  BH has a load of talent from junior high age on up, so baseball is going to be fine for a while to come.       There are more than enough parents to weigh in on this one. You know me, I am like Bush, wack-m all........  ;D ;D Just kidding.
 2.
There will be tickets at the gate.  Adults $5.00 and students $3.00.  I would also like to add that we will be giving away a $500 scholarship to the Offensive MVP of each team and a Defensive MVP of each team and Chic-fi-la will award a $500 scholarship to a game MVP that is not one of the other MVP's.  Some of the ticket money will go to the scholarships.
Coach, Is there a scholarship fund established somewhere that we may donate too?
 3.
EVERYBODY, i think we got a great chance at doing that also, Coach Faircloth and his staff went up to Auburn to study the defence and while thay were at it they went to Alabama to study the "O" schemes so nothing will look the same as last year, sorry Brenham fan but i want to beat yall most of all
Dummies......they could have crossed the ditch and went to WOS instead.  According to WOS they are the best team in the nation each year.  Just ask them.  So with that said, I want to see every team beat WOS.  I'll be a fan of whomever plays them.........that is unless it's HF and Don Price, then I will just hope they both lose.  ;)
 4.
Drove to Baytown last night from Mid County to watch the game...The worst home plate umpire I have every seen  :o I had to get that out of the way..The eagles had sevral oppertunities on the bases I thought..( no sac bunts but a bunt in the 7th when you are down 3) .Both teams pitched ok..I thought the Pats were the better team ....Hey GCM PATS I looked for u last night ..I am pretty sure I will see you Thurs....Trevin asked how Price did ..My reply was the same old Price..Congrats and good luck Pats ...see ya at the pound  ;D
Yes, we need to work on playing small-ball.  We have been swinging for the fences for so long we forgot how to win without a div-1 pitcher.  It bites us every year. Congrats to GCM on their first playoff appearance.  Now go spank Nederland and send them home dancing like one of those light-shoed Indians form PNG.  ;D
 5.
Good Luck to both teams!
Chicken, pick a side!  ;D ;D ;D
 6. The UIL should take some of their money and pay for travel then.
 7. Hester is good, so I will say Crosby 18 and Vidor 2.  Just kidding..... Got to pull for Crosby, as bad as I hate too.  ;)
 8. Put your Tom-Tom down, you got to beat GP first.
 9. Nothing against the Bears, but got to pull for the folks on the right side of the Trinity.  KP takes series in 3.
 10. WOW, who would have ever thought.
 11. BH needs to play small ball in this one.  Don't go in there swinging for the fences every at-bat. Recall the Montgomery game a few years back?
 12.
Don Price....seductive charm??????  I work at BH High School and can tell you he has ZERO personality.  He rarely attended faculty meetings, campus functions or had anything to say to anyone who wasn't a coach.  He didn't even come to the football pep rallies.  He pretty much acted like his dog got ran over and didn't have anything positive to say.  Wit the exception of the first year we were in 4A and had loads of talent, the majority of his wins came while we were in 3A and in a marginal district.  Yes, Liberty and HF had some good teams and we had some big wins against those teams, but I DON'T think he was the savior of BH football.  On another note.....I can tell you that the entire attitude has changed in our athletic department since Coach Gage arrived.  He is positive, attends all kinds of campus functions (even the One Act Play that is state bound), and the boys love him.
Yep, that pretty much sums it up.  That's OK, we got a nice man and a good coach and Price is now on the correct side of the Trinity River.  Which, by the way, is closer to West Orange Stark.  ;D ;D
 13.

The weekend of the 7-8 of May. This weekend will be used for Seeding games and for some districts to finish up. Some teams might also play warmup games this Friday, Saturday or next Tuesday.
GCM has a warm-up game scheduled for this Friday. ;D
Yes, warming up for that tie-breaker against BH........ ;D  That's assuming KP does not throw the game and put some 6th grader out there pitching.  ;)
 14. They should do away with the one-gamer.  Not at all represenative of a team effort.
 15. So what are the playoff possibilities for 19-4A?  Pats I know you got it all worked out.
 16.
no one saying enything :o
They are all still huddled around their 1980's Trophy Room talking about State.  ;D
 17.
Local boy gets this job.
UHHHHH, I am sure of that.  ;D ;D  Not many local area attractions to draw someone from anywhere else.  I can hear it now, let's run over to Kountze shop at the flea market and get a bite.  Heck, can't even go to Honey Island Swiming Pool anymore. My dad was QB at West Hardin many years ago.......go figure.
 18. He is sexy, if you don't believe me, just ask him........  ;D  that is if you can get him to stop talking about his record......  ::)
 19. Congrats to Dan Hooks, Graduate of Barbers Hill High School and Football Coach to Earl Thomas.
 20. I could see GCM going 0-3 the last three games and CE King dropping to 5.  BH needs to win at least 2 of 3 with the above to help. Sad.
 21.

BH has a bad season so the district is down. I agree, 20-4A should walk all over any team that comes out of this district.
What? So the mighty BH may not make playoffs so the district is down!!!? Or is the district better because BH is not walking over people..... I think the district is up.... KP, Crosby and GP are playing good ball... Even GCM is playing well.... don't they have like 29 HR this year... Just because BH can't handle their business does not mean the other district teams can't win against 20-4A.  Maybe if the kids focused on practice instead of pre practice activities and Prom they might win...
That's what you get for thinking.  Paddle back across that Trinity River and don't let the gators get you.........   ;D
 22. Hopefully they have tickets at the gate, can't see me crossing the Trinity River in enemy territory for a ticket.  ;D
 23.
The QB spot is up for grabs, I hear there there is a senior to be and two juniors  to be that are strong contendors. I am sure the younger kid will get a fare shot but the new style offense does not fit him as well as the others.
So is it confirmed?  Will we now be a running team vs. the spread?  We have some younger talent working it's way toward high school and a few there now. I think good times are to come after a bump or two.
 24.

Boy this district is in bad shape this year.
I would not go so far as to say that. This district is YOUNG this year. Most teams are being lead by Jr's and Soph's. Pitching is not as strong as our counterparts in 20-4A. I do not think we have anyone in 19-4A with the marquee #1's like Nederland, PNG or Vidor. Even most #1's in 19-4A are Jr's or Soph's. We'll soon find out how well we stack up against those guys. I will be shocked to see any team come out of a 3-game series when the playoffs get here.  I wished they would do away with the 1-game series all together and let the best overall team advance.  Stinks having one great pitcher determine who the better team is.
25.

Every year we end up playing in the elements, might want to practice in them as well.  Turf would help in that the field would not turn into mud wrestling like against GCM last year.  Not against a in-door facility, but let's get turf and larger visitor stands first.  If you do both, your going to get additional playoff games, which will help to bring in additiona revenue.  Hey, I have an idea.  Let's build a new stadium like is being built in Dallas for Allen-High.  It's only 60-million!
The "mud" did not seem to slow GCM down last year. Turf or not, BH does not have the team speed of most area 4A's.
See that's not fair.  You had a midget running the ball and was using that "pig and a poke" play.......  ;D  I hear the new apartment complex on Eagle Drive has a great workout facility, should improve our team speed......  ;) ;)
