bh89-2 replied to TexAgNDN's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I can see this upset happening. Not picking on you PNG........I am sure ya'll are better than when you played BH. -
No comment ;D ;D ;D Aw Man that was pretty slick how you caught that BHFAN. It got by me for sure. ;D ;D Next year we will just do away with the word "Offense" and start calling it "QB Play"........ ;D ;D I knew BHFAN would not miss that easy duck.... ;D ;D Someone fly that same duck to the fieldhouse......along with the flock of others in every BH thread.

Goose Creek at Dayton predictions????

Just wished someone was taping this one so we could watch it later. Got to go watch my BH Eagles run our QB in the dirt. -
DANG!!!! Jasper must have ticked them off.
-
If you remember one of our last year in 3A we ran a full back (Clay McWilliams) out in front of our 1/2 back (may have been patton) and out in front of Daniels. We ran the sweep as good as anyone, just ask Bridge City (at Crosby-playoff game). I see the same potential in Bradford, as he should run over most linebackers. Would be interesting to see a few times if nothing else. # 20 could easily hide behind 34 and break out from behind a block. Might make an interesting play/option.
-
OK.........how do you suggest they protect # 11 when they run him most of the time. If we continue down the road we went with GP (#11 most every play), he will be at 80% of the carries very soon. BH has NEVER protected the QB, it's not in their game plan. It's why we get our tails kicked against a fast defense (Dayton, Kirbyville, Central, etc.). Rushing Name Att Yds Yds/Att TD Matthew Viverette 97 441 4.55 4 Andrew McMillan 28 141 5.04 2 Kade Bradford 16 66 4.13 1 Carter Smith 4 22 5.5 0 Cade McDonald 1 9 9 0 Carter Smith 1 -6 -6 0

Glad to see a win, but my gosh can we find other options than QB left, righ, up middle? They will not stop until he is hurt, history proves it. -
So, Jasper didn't win this game, WOS lost it. Correct? Ill be so glad when West Orange finally plays a reputable team. These near losses and now losses to these team that cant compete with West Orange is not giving me any indication as to how good they really are. I have a message for all you other local teams in the area that dont have high expectations this year and should only have a average football team this year! This is the WOS Mustangs, they are coached by "THE DAN HOOKS", they are The winning program in the area, they are ranked anywhere from 1st to 3rd in state depending on what poll your looking at! They should dominate everyone locally and compete for a state title this year. So if the local officials dont stop throwing the flag everytime one of these players commits a foul and start giving them a break, and if you opposing coachs dont start taking it a little easier on these kids cause remember they are just sophomores, and defenses, just because they throw the ball to you or drop it dont mean you have to catch it or recover it every time, geez! If yall dont start getting on board and playing like you know you should then WOS cant win the games they are supposed to and will never be able to compete in the playoffs and go to state and then what would we do? I LOVE IT!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thanks NDN good comments! ;D I'm not going to lie. I'm biased towards my team, but I respect what you guys are doing over in Vidor. Running the ball is what ya'll do, and ya'll seem to do it pretty darn well. It is going to be fun when we hook up with you guys at the Reservation this year. It'll be two completely different styles of offense, but when executed right, both offenses create excitement. Not knocking PNG, however if Vidor can run the ball, which they should do well against PNG, it's gonna be hard to keep the PNG offense on the field. I have to go with Vidor this year. PNG had trouble with BH's running game, and it really is a one-man show. 3 running backs is going to be tough to handle.

I know one thing, if they ever get that Nacho Cheese hot in the BH concession stand I will run a 3.7 to get mine...... ;D Might only live for one scoop, but damn will I tear through the downhill side of those bleachers for the first several steps. ;D
-
please take your rooting somewhere else, u might jinx the dogs! ;D HAHAHAHA J_Dog I still have "The Shirt" if you want it for good luck....... ;D ;D ;D We need to catch a plaoff game when the time comes. Maybe we can pull Hup out fo the piny woods for a road trip.

This team (players I am speaking of) has more heart than any BH team i can recall watching in a very long time. Despite all the turnovers, they never quite in any game. We are a turnover or a possession away from being 3-0 going into district play. The kids are doing great!

Speaking for myself, I had absolutely no problem giving any of the above information...but I am not going to compel or even ask any of the other pollsters to do the same and in fact will not give my vote until authorized to do so by those with more authority. But I will give the other information. Heck, I will give more info than you asked for: Name: Todd Broussard User Name: WOSgrad Born: Rayne, Louisiana Resides: Katy, Texas Hometown: West Orange, Texas High school attended: West Orange-Stark (1986) Colleges attended: Lamar University (1990), University of Houston (1993, YEAH OKIE STATE, HOW YOU LIKE COUGAR HIGH NOW!!!) High School Leanings: Texas - West Orange-Stark, Katy, North Shore (wife's alma mater); Lousiana - Rayne H.S, Notre Dame (Crowley) College: U of H Pro: Da' Boys! Hi Todd. Ok, now that's done it was a suggestion. Not knocking the poll, the ranking, or anything else. Polls are opinions and we all know what they say about opinions, but do keep things fun for discussion. Figured knowing how the poll geographically works would be interesting. I don't see how individual names are important, why I said screen names. If people don't want screen names why not just say Vidor voter says, BH votor says, Central voter says....etc and why they think what they say. Just thought i would add to more discussion, which is what a message board is about, in part. My 2 cents......I'll go back to rooting for my WOS Mustangs... ;D

What Region of the State has the best HS football?
bh89-2 replied to Sportznut's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Dallas Metroplex for a long time now. Basically West of the Trinity and North of I-10. ;D ;D ;D -
I NEVER thought I would root for Jasper, however got to go with the lesser of the two evils. Jasper in a close one.

LCM @ Cleveland WOS @ Jasper I Know, this is my upset game based on how they played Gilmer. That and I hate WOS.... ;D Aldine Eisenhower @ West Brook Bridge City @ Buna Deweyville @ West Sabine Diboll @ Coldsprings Hardin Jefferson @ East Chambers Hamshire Fannett @ Huffman Hitchcock @ Anahuac Hull Daisetta @ Kountze Kirbyville @ Liberty Nederland @ Friendswood Newton @ Silsbee Tarkington @ Orangefield Trininty @ Hardin Warren @ Groveton Dayton @ Kingwood Memorial @ Houston Westbury Barbers Hill @ Galena Park Livingston @ Houston Park Vote games not picked count as miss Yes Or NO Vote = vote yes to vote that if you do not pick a game or you pick both teams or for any reason your pick is not obvious it counts as a miss. vote no if you do not want it to count as a miss but just that u have fewer picks listed that week!
-
I got to agree with you there, and Lord knows our old fat A$% can't do it any better ;D Now, it's open season on the BH staff...
-
I have an idea ??? Make the votes, with board names, and schools they follow/attended public when you post the ranking. A little accountability would be nice. Might even include an explination for why they voted for each team. If nothing else could foster an interesting discussion, such as why west brook could get hammered and be ahead of Vidor or why Kirbyville has to win state to move up. I know someone, (WOSGRAD I think) said some people think west brook is the best big school in the area, but who and why. Are these all mid-county voters, all Orange county voters, all east texas voters, Beaumont voters????????? Last few years there was a recorded message with the ranking and explination, which was good. Just a suggestion.

Your right, Price does not unless it's a critial moment. However, under Skidmore, "Little Price", and our current O-Coordinator, there is very little difference in the play calling. You take that, along with every team from TIFI to Varsity running the same plays, you understand why we can't and won't beat a fast aggressive defense.
-
Yes, since the early 70's, including the state championship team. Have only missed a few games in last 8-9 years. Running the QB in the ground is a Price mainstay. He puts what he believes is the best player at the QB position and abuses him. By game 3 or 4 the opposition's defense is sitting and waiting on the two main plays we run, QB run and wide-out screen. We rarely throw screens over the middle or slants, which is exactly what we could do if we were allowing the QB to "check" plays, as you said.
