  1. You would think, but the back-up only got a few snaps. What happened to the big guy (lineman) who had been doing kick-offs? He was pretty darn good.
  2. Be careful, you'll get some crazy mom after you.....LOL I don't mind since they always leave after a year or two and we just tick off a new set each season. Bottom line is you don't have an offense when you run the QB 70% of the time. What's going to happen is he will get hurt, just like happened to Chris Daniels and Carmona. As for the turnovers, that is a dicipline and experience problem. You can't run into traffic one handing the ball, period. BH has more speed this year than they have had in a long time, but you have to use it to your advantage. As for interceptions, when you take a somewhat inexperienced QB and stick him in the backfield without a single blocker, then a defense is a fool not to rush him all night. Poor QB is not only trying to find the open receiver, but he's having to do it while running for his life. If the full back is going to leave the backfield under a pass rush, he better be coming off his block rapidly and turning for the screen pass. A team like Dayton will kill BH because of the delayed handoffs and lack of pass protection.

  4. We played PNG and Lumberton and they are not even close to Dayton and I am doubtful Vidor is either. Nothing against those programs, because I do like them, but I have to agree with you.
  5. OK 99, for the shake, what flavor should I order? ;D

  7. From the looks of it, GCM's back is going to be a load this year. QB too!
  8. AMEN.... Hey there PNGFAN, I got some new tools for deep releasing snapper (instead of fizzing). You still hitting the gulf? If so shoot me your address and I'll get a few to you to try. A PHD from Texas Tech invented the tool and gave me a bunch.
  9. Not knocking the kid at all, he is playing his heart out, but at some point you got to admit when help is needed. By the way, after Crosby fell the way they did, I might as well buy you that shake in advance. Not looking good ofr my bet at this point....LOL
  10. Not a chance. This one will get ugly for Silsbee.
  11. Lumberton runs as Barbers Hill falls again By Robert Chambliss Correspondent Published September 5, 2009 The Barbers Hill Eagles lost their second consecutive game this year when they played the Lumberton Raiders on Friday night. The 35-29 final score pushed the Eagles to 0-2, and head coach Don Price had little to say about the result. “It is what it is,†Price said. “We have dropped the first two, and we haven’t done what we have needed to win the football games.†The Eagles looked shaky at the beginning of the game, when they gave up a 14-play, 67yard drive that ended in a Raider 21 yard field goal. The Eagles however, responded with an 11-play, 63-yard drive of their own. “Well there wasn’t a lot of punting tonight,†Price said. “It kept going score after score. “We need to keep our offense like it is, but we have to force the other team to punt.†The Raiders’ Ryan Asher was the real trouble for the Eagles defense. Asher finished the game with 19 carries for 66 yards and four rushing touchdowns. “Well what we have to do in the coming weeks is work,†Price said. “We must work on all aspects, including defense, so we can become a better football team.†Lumberton’s quarterback Ryan Hughes also had a terrific game rushing the ball. He led his team in rushing with 17 carries for 106 yards, and finished with 128 yards and a touchdown on 8 of 18 passing. For the Eagles, Matthew Viverette was their offense. On the ground, Viverette carried the ball 18 times for a total of 91 yards and a touchdown. And in the air, Viverette went 23 for 32 for 286 yards and three touchdowns. Wade Duke and Caleb Stork each had seven catches for BH. But when it came time to score, Caleb Stork was their man with seven catches for 120 yards and all three Viverette touchdowns. “It all came down to our penalties and our special teams tonight,†Price said. “We missed a few extra points and that hurt us. And we had a lot of penalties which really hurt us. “Because of our holding, we were giving them short field position, and they did what they needed to with it.†The Eagles finished the game with six penalties for 80 yards including two holds in a row on their ensuing drive to catch Lumberton. “What we are going to have to do over this week is work,†Price said. “I can’t say it enough, we must work to get better, and play better football in the weeks to come.†The Eagles’ next game will be next Friday at 7 p.m., when they host a first-year school Cypress Ranch.
  12. Got to love the respect Vidor gets. Matter of fact, got to love the respect everyone but WOS, PNG, Nederland, and West Brook gets. Vidor and Lumberton have always been abused on this board and finally they are in a position to kick some PNG and Nederland butts and even now they can't get respect. I'd take 1 Vidors or Lumberton fan over a 1000 self-loving idiots for West Orange who think they are going to state each year. Vidor/Lumberton and their fans take it one game at a time, not predicting State every freaking start two-a-days. Vidor and Lumberton, take care of business and take the district you deserve. WOS is again going to be a dissapointment, like they always are.
  13. 1. Vidor 2. Central 3. Lumberton 4. PNG Put the first 3 in a bag and shake them up and draw. All could swap spots. PNG will have to really improve to beat any of the first three. They made a good showing againsy Crosby, so they could be in the mix as well.

  16. Stats say it all in this one.
  17. WOW, what a shocker this is. Crosby's gonna end up costing me a shake........
  18. Lumberton made no mistakes and played a very good game. Congrats. A bad call, two turnovers, and holding cost BH the game. It was a great game to watch with two classy teams.

  21. Defense did look good against PNG. Hopefully the offense will come around and minimize the mental mistakes. Good luck both teams. Lumberton in a close one.
  22. Folks, I get the question all the time - "How do you properly FIZZ a Bass?" A couple friends of mine put together this video and it is about as good as it gets. This is worth the minute or so it takes to watch. Bass FIZZ Video [Hidden Content] Here is a link to Tractor Supply where you can buy cheap FIZZ Nedles. Get the 18 guage needle that is 1 or 1-1/2 inches long. DO NOT use the salt water type fizz tools. They are too big. Tractor Supply Link Fizz Needle Link (18 gauge 1 to 1-1/2 inch) [Hidden Content]
  23. There is no way Jasper beats Gilmer. I say Gilmer by at least 20. Jasper's hopeful State Champion contenders should remember Gilmer all too well. That freaking school re-loads every year and is dynamic and any team I have seen. Very much like Lake Travis on offense. Having said that, Jasper should have won that game. I was sitting on the end zone line when the Jasper player got the ball across the line. The the REF did not give him the TD.
  24. A friend of mine who's daughter is a all-state/district volleyball player said, "he saw BH play and has not seen another team, including summer league, that can compare.". Don't know much about the sport, but he does and he had nothing but praise. Said their all very tall, all can hit, and all are athletes.
