I may have an opening on a May 2,3 and 4th overnight trip out of Cypress Cove (Venice, Louisiana) if anyone is interested. The cost will be less than $400.00 per person and will include fishing Friday night and Saturday morning. Saturday we will stay in new orleans and get a bite to eat and listen to a little blues. Leaving from Houston on Friday morning about 0900. Fishing will include swordfish and tuna primarily, however we will likely do a little bottom dropping too. P.M. me if interested.

Everyone knows the comercial guys control these rules for their own benefit. Their intent is to strip mine the fishery and when the resources are gone they move on to other waters. I can't tell you how many times I ahve seen commercial boats over the Stetson Bank with a trail of small dead snapper floationg downstream of the boat. The release of small snapper to get a keeper is a whole other issue that begs attention and won't get it.

Boy I love it when I am right, not that that happens often. That East of The Trinty baseball is not as good as some thought. ;D ;D

So, of these 3 teams fighting it out, who has the easier schedule going towards end of district play?

I stand corrected..you are right ( I checked out first ;D ) So it is : BH (9-0) Huffman (7-2) GP and New Caney (6-3) and Crosby (in-trouble). I take it you are a GP fan. If so, props to you..I've been at every BH game this year ( I have a vested interest). Other than a few teams we played in tourneys..GP w/ Frank on the mound, best w/ seen. Another 21-4A game tomorrow night w/ implications... @ BH. New Caney vs. The Hill. I'm pulling for the 'Jackets to make the playoffs...they impressed me/us/BH. 07, You think GP pitching was better than Bay City? Oops...other than a few teams we played in tournaments and Bay City. Bay City was season opener. I cannot remember that for back. ;D Are you going to the game tonight and did you save me any crawfish ? I will be doing another 1000 or 1200lbs this Tuesday after work. Come on over and eat all you want for free.

My opinion is the GT Area teams don't have the pitching depth to go 3 games. They also have lost games they should have won or barely beat teams they should dominate. Examples: LCM was almost upset by Central 10-7 LCM blown-out by PNG 11-1 Vidor was dominated by LCM 13-1 PNG lost to Vidor 3-4 PNG only beat Ozen by 1 (3-2) Lot of inconsistent results from these 3 teams. Our district teams have beat the teams they should have and held their opponents somewhat close in the games they were underdogs. Huffman has at least 2 quality pitchers and all other teams have at least one good pitcher. BH has 4 pitchers. All top 4 teams can score runs. With the lack of pitching depth, inconsistent performance, and a possible lack of offense all those teams, except maybe LCM will have a hard time winning in a 3 game series. The ONLY reason I exclude LCM is because they have playoff experience and have hit the ball pretty good this year. I know PNG has playoff experience, but one pitcher in a 3 game series with no offense is going to be tough. That's my reasoning. Look at PNG and LCM this Friday. Proof of what I said here.

Wasn't there some hurdle and track stars named Bronson that came out of Jasper ? If so, is a brother, cousin, etc. ? Bronsons. Where to start? Yes, one cousin excelled at track, helped Jasper to a state championship, ran in the 96 Olympics. Another cousin excelled at QB, played a bit for Indianapolis Colts, then for the Houston Arena team. His uncle also ran track with the track cousin, and played 8 years as a DB for 49'ers. I probably have missed some more, but that is a start on the Bronsons. This district is not going to get much credit beyond BH, however don't be suprised if there are two or more teams left after the first round. If all three teams from this district draw a 3 game series, look out. Anything could happen then.

Yes, Captain Roy's is where I am upgrading at. Insurance is another matter still working on.

Yes the 44 foot boat has a commercial permit, but we don't use it. This will be specifically for sportsfish trips of 6 persons or less. I am running a 32 scarab and part-time with the 44 as either deckhand or Captain. Got to upgrade my sixpack to a 100 ton Masters this month.

Once they put them on the list the GT area folks complained they were not in their area and should not be inlcuded. :D :D That's hilarious to me for some reason. Anything can happen on any given day. I've seen Longview choke too many times to not believe that. Good luck to you guys. BH began a rebuilding period last year and this year should be a little better. I figure we should make the playoffs, but no chance in beating Dayton for the top spot. Can't wait for the Longview game, we need two really good beat-downs this year. Maybe the current head coach will eventually find his new job and we can maybe one day compete at the level Longview is at..
