  1. Better be looking for McGaffie instead of some due half naked wearing a head-dress..... ;D ;D If PN-G's defense is any good at all, they should beat GP. Better have some good linebackers and fast corners (not because of the pass threat either). McGaffie is very quick and in my opinion a better runner than was Deon Beasley (former WOS QB).
  2. I see this one coming. After Jasper loses it's going to be the same ol'e, "they stole our play book." Seems we heard this one before.
  3. Crosby has talent, but they don't compare to Dayton, especially Dayton of the past two weeks. Not to mention, thr Coogs coach is a mouth...so go whip them Dayton. We will be ther rooting you on. I want to see Dayton LaMarque myself. Dayton might have a shot at them this year.
  4. Stop McGaffie you win. PN-G has much better coaching too.
  5. They have McGaffie and that is all. No defense at all.
  6. Congrats Dayton......way to represent the West of the Trnity Schools. Congrats Lumberton for finally getting what you deserve, respect. As for PN-G, you laid an egg and got beat just like Nederland. As for the playoffs, here is a breakdown for the match-ups, whatever they might be. Smiley - Athletic bunch with nothing to lose. The playoffs are new to them and their nerves might get the best of them. They have some speed, but overall not a lot of depth. I don't see them doing much. Crosby - Probably has the most talent overall. Have big recievers, small ellusive running back, athletic QB and decent speed. They are the best team in this district, however they tend to turn the ball over and make a lot of mistakes. Having said that, they can play with PN-G and likely beat them. They won't beat Dayton and likely can't stop the Lumberton running game. Galena Park - One word....McGaffie. Other than Dayton and maybe Lumberton, I don't see anyone stopping him. My opinion is he is better than the former QB at WOS Beasley (now UT defensive back). Having said that, he is all they got. Their defense is very bad. They have size, but not much strength on the lines. BH dominated both lines and we are small. GP can not stop a decent running game, much less a good running game. Their pass defense is non-existent. Again, slow McGaffie down and you win. Last night out of something like 460 yards offense, he had all but 30 or 40 of it. He is a stud! Congrats Dayton, see you guys this weekend in the playoffs. Go DAYTON! Maybe we will play next year after the UIL mixes things up.
  7. Kind of ticks you off to see us wait until it does not matter to lose that conservative approach that is Price. I will say this, if allowed to play his game, Carmona might just turn out to be the best QB BH has had in a long time. That of course means we can't run 40 QB draw plays per game. Carmona shows running skills of a Chris Daniels and better throwing skills than anyone I can remember all the way back to the 80's. I really like his game, but he is going to have to find a way to work on that game and play baseball during the offseason. As for our defense, well losing Sexton just sucks. I really hope some kids get in the gym this offseason and work on their strength and improve their speed. We were very young this year. One last comment, someone on defense needs to step-up and be a leader. When kids stop on a play or hang their heads after a TD is allowed, that is not good. For goodness sake, work on tackling. Great season Eagles........see ya next year. By the way, we have always been on Crosby's S-List, but we must have really made GP list this year. That is two years in a row we knocked them out of a District Title.
  8. Most of them live out of district. They pay someone else water bill so their kids don't have to go to school in Port Arthur or Orange...... ;)
  9. Yes sir.......;D ;D ;D Don't forget Huffman......you REALLY don't want any of them..... ;D
  10. Yes, this is true, just not by anyone form the Golden Triangle area. Dickinson will runover you and La Marque will run around you.
  11. Those Dawgs got a little of that "West of the Trinity River" football put on them I see....... ;D ;D Congrats Dayton..........Speed kills. Don't guess any of this matters once playoffs begin. Dickinson, La Marque and others are waiting.
  12. This is one tough area to play volleyball in. BH, Dickenson, Friendswood.....all state class teams.
  13. In BH you can watch TIFFI or Varsity and see the same boring offense. It's a problem and until Price is gone, always will be. By the way, Coogfan, how about that GP team...... ;D
  14. If your salt water or freshwater fishing look up a web site for Waterloo Rods. They are pricy, but very good. American Rodsmith makes a slightly less expensive trout rod, as Crazy_Cajun indicated their brand. They are nice rods. Another good brand is Tempest Rods. Just make sure the Tempest rod you buy has a double rap of thread on both sides of the eye. Their older models did not and the eyes double rapped and the eys would fall out. I would shy way from All-Star as they are not the All-Star of old after Shakespear bought them (or whomever owns them now). That is unless you just want a less expensive rod and are not all that worried with quality. If your only fishing salt water and throwing a lot of soft plastics for trout, find a light rod with coorosive resistant eyes and a lot of action in the tip. Titanium eyes work well and offer great weight reduction, which results in more sensitivity. I probably have 10-15 extra rods laying around. If you want a freebee just let me know and I'll give you one or two. Most are less expensive Shimmano rods, but your welcome to them. If you want a Tempest rod I can probably get you one for much less than list price. Same goes for the Rodsmith.
  15. Oh, not all was lost. I went off-shore Saturday out of Freeport and we caught limits of very good snapper, Big AJ's, one Ling and some very nice mangrove snapper. ;D ;D
  16. Hey bud, I sure wish I could. :( We fished all year to qualify for the State Tourney and did not even wet a hook during it. My fishing partner got tied-up at work Friday and missed the manditory meeting that was to be held that night. This disqualified him and without any pre-fish time I did not want to waste my time and money to fish it alone. Had it not been a full moon, high pressure and strong North winds, I may have had a go at it. Under the weather conditions of last week, no thanks. I do appreciate the info, regardless.
  17. Would like to see this: Barbers Hill Dayton Baytown Memorial (new school) Baytown Lee (if drop down to 4-A) Crosby Nederland PNG Huffman going back to 3A to whip-up on WOS again. ;D
  18. Need to throw Galena Park and Crosby in that mix. Either of those two teams will be a handfull for the first round playoff game. GP is a dangerous team with McGaffie at QB. He is as close to Deon Beasley as has played in the last few years.
  19. Thanks for the info. Any ideas on grass and lilly-pads. Got a tip that some better fish have been coming on lilly-pads.
  20. Spend the few extra dollars and buy Shimmano. Curado or Citga hold up well. I have some of these reels that are almost 20yrs old and have never done anything except clean them. I have other less expensive reels and none of them hold up, especially if your fishing salt water. There is a reference to a Pinacle reel (I have 2 of themm) below and in fresh water it is an OK reel for a lot less money. If your fishing for smaller fish it is OK, but the drag system is not even close to a Shimanno or other quality reel and the casting is not quite as smooth. Also if your throwing any kind of braid you need a better drag system. Diawa makes a good reel now however it is also pricy. Check out Ebay for deals! The older model Shimanno reels are great reels and you can usually get one for less than $80 there. Hope that helps.
  21. Guys and Gals: I am fishing Rayburn this weekend and have not been on the lake in about a year. I heard the lake was a few feet low and I assume after being very low for the last few years the grass may not be where I am used to seeing it. Starting from the South end of the lake, can anyone point me in the direction of grass in 3-5 feet of water and deeper, as well as lilly-pads. Looking for both if you don't mind. Areas I was plannig to look at first are: Buck Bay, Shirley Creek, Tiger Creek, Mill Creek. Any comments or suggestions welcome.
  22. That one Freshman starter and Sexton are the only bright spots on defense. That Freshman (don't know his name) was pretty darn good and made some great plays. 2 does not make a defense, hense 1000 yards of offense in one night. Hard to watch after the past several years of really good defenses.
  23. I say A&M makes him a great offer to sit next to Ross...... If nothing else at least I would get to see you swap that burned orange shirt for a maroon one..... ;D ;D
  24. Sounds like you have all been too spoiled by having Mosley for those few years...... He is a special breed, so don't expect that each year.
