  1. I tell you what, A&M has just flopped the last 4 or 5 important games. Either the Big12 has figured out very well how to shut down their offense or they need a wake-up call and start playing team ball. Get it together.....FAST!
  2. Don't want to sound like a homer, however he has got to be in the top 1 or 2. He is just all over the field and his takle ratio is VERY high compared to others. Not to mention the fumbles recovered, interceptions, and defensive TD's.....
  3. WOW....the bats and pitching are coming alive. Has BH even been scored on in this tournament? Have they run ruled every team thus far?
  4. BH blanks La Marque By Michael Pineda Baytown Sun Published March 9, 2007 Once the Barbers Hill bats awoke you could stick a fork in La Marque because they were done. In the Eagle’s opening game of the 20th Annual Barbers Hill Baseball Tournament the offense scored five runs in the fourth inning to break the game wide open and Ross Hales took care of the rest on the mound as the Hill defeated the Cougars 10-0. Hales gave up two hits in a complete game, five inning effort with 10 strikeouts as the Eagles improved to 8-3-1 on the year. Barbers Hill will return to action today at 7 p.m. when they face off against Sealy in the tournament semifinals. “Ross has pitched well this season,†BH head coach Gil Stalbaum said. “He hasn’t thrown a lot of innings and we are trying to set up a rotation for district. We need him to get stronger and get ready.†The Eagles came out strong in the first inning posting three runs. With one out in the inning, Derek Hulsey hit an infield single and then stole second base. A Colby Townley double to centerfield scored Hulsey and then Cameron Campbell hit a bomb over the left field wall to make the score 3-0. Barbers Hill did strand two runners in the first inning and stranded two more in the second as the offense became stagnant. Following a three up and three down third frame the Eagles rebounded and put up some numbers. Alex Rocha reached on a walk, stole second and reached third on a passed ball. Rocha scored when Kyle McDonald hit a 1-2 pitch for a single. McDonald advanced to second on a groundout and scored on a triple by Hulsey. Hulsey finished the day 2-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Townley reached base on a walk and stole second. A sacrifice fly to center by Campbell scored Hulsey and a double by Hales scored Townley. Jake Ponder then traded places with Hale on an RBI double to give Barbers Hill an 8-0 lead. “We were kind of anxious at the beginning of the ballgame,†Stalbaum said. “But we kind of settled in and hit the ball better the third time through the lineup.†Meanwhile Hales gave up singles in the second and fourth inning but only allowed one of the runners to second base on a steal. Over the course of the last four innings the junior logged nine of his ten strikeouts including five in the fourth and fifth inning. The Eagle bench closed the game out in the bottom half of the fifth. In the Eagle program Seth Helmly mentioned that hitting a homerun off BH assistant coach Jackie Byrd was his baseball fantasy. He had to settle for La Marque’s starter. The junior lifted one over the left field wall in his first varsity at-bat to make the score 9-0. Heath Padgett followed with a single and a stolen base and then scored on a Clay Garner single to end the game.
  5. EAGLE07 Do you have the schedule for this tournament?
  6. Harrington was a very good pitcher. He seem to get better the later in the game we got. Nice job PNG.
  7. HAHAHA....I love these threads......We win!! - No!!! We win!!!! ;D PNG is a stand-up group, good luck and safe travel. BH WINS !!! Just kidding.
  8. Should be good game. BH wins.
  9. WOW !!!!! What happend during the Elkins game? Too deep in the rotation?
  10. Amazon for Peacock bass. San Salvador for BIG Wahoo Cabo San Lucas for BIG tuna
  11. I had a 1992 - 200 Mariner that had been bored to a 235. It was the best boat motor I have ever owned. I have had Mercury, Yamaha, Johnson, and Evenrude. The new Yamaha motors suck! I know 5 different people who have new Yamaha motors and all of them have had the motor rebuilt or had major work done.
  12. Well, A&M in process of winning and Texas lost. Who has Big 12 title?
  13. According to this bracket above, we are playing Elkins right now. If we win, next game is 7:00 PM same place. Wished I knew where Bulter is at.
  14. A local restraunt "Skeeters" has a bracket on their web site for this tournament. Here is the link to the site: [Hidden Content]

  16. BH run-rules first 2 teams and advances. Playing third game now. Go Eagles!
  17. Just saw on Houston Chronicle web site BH won against St. Pius 10-0. Not sure how many innings, but think it was a run rule.
  18. So why can't they forfit the first game in the braket? Go to the loser bracket right of the bat or something???? Going to be strange hosting a tournament and our boys watching the games form the stands.
  19. Doc, The Gym looks very nice. I see they went back with the wood floor instead of the old rubber floor, which was the new thing back in my days. Did the rubber floor not hold up?
  20. Carter always has beena bunch of thugs.....they are dirty and always have been.
  21. Who is College Park????? Never heard fo them.
  22. Vidor - Fans are always very nice people (except that one web site guy) Newton - Always very fun to watch and they compete. WOS - Because the fans always think they are the best 3A team in Texas and they have been beat every year in the playoffs since dropping to 3A. Dickinson - I look for them to be a VERY good team the next 2 years and with their running back and QB they will be a force in a very tough district. Fun to watch that duo. Nederland - They can suck in the regular season and when a playoff game comes they play at a new level. Zapata - Very well coached program. Brenham - Very professional looking team and coaching staff. LaMarque - Speed & Size !!!! Baytown Lee - One exciting passing game after another......very well coached. Dick O is the man. Katy - Need I say anything about them? West Columbia - Always very good and they always have one or two standout players. Dayton - I can't recall them not playing hard and being pretty good, even back to the 80's. West Hardin - Very small school, but seem to have found a spark the last few years. South Lake Carrol - The hair dye says it all........ Burnett - Mean Green is good. Liberty Hill - One fo the best running games you will ever see and they do it with small players accross the board. Not to mention good people.
